This is our boys (8 and 9 yrs) 4th amazing summer at Ajax Adventure Camp! When we did not live here in Aspen but were visiting for summer it was so awesome to find such an inclusive and fun camp for our boys--everyone (locals or visitors) fit right in and they have an amazing summer community! With so many activities to choose from each day from they have so much independence. A few they especially love include ninja warrior obstacle courses, rock climbing, rafting, paddle boarding, fishing, extreme hammocking and polar bearing! It is especially great that after our shortened school year Ajax Adventure Camp has made such strides to successfully open safely this summer ... They are so excited every morning to see their friends and counselors at drop offs and they come home every day happy and tired -- always with new fun jokes, stories and recaps of the cool adventures they did that day. I was looking for a summer job and was selected to be a counselor the first year Ajax started. It was apparent from day one that this was no ordinary organization. I quickly realized that the directors Danny and Trent were incredibly driven, creative, and passionate about helping kids have the best summers of their lives. I received training in CPR, Wilderness First Response, Medication Administration, Leave No Trace ethics, as well as Ajax's counselor training week. We all carried large first aid kits too. The counselors know their stuff. I worked for Ajax for 5 years and saw camp evolve to form its own unique culture that allows kids to just be kids. Each day was filled with adventures, laughs, and new experiences. No expectations, no judgements, freedom to choose your own adventure. Kids love Ajax, counselors love Ajax. Best camp in Aspen. The way the day is structured is so unique for a camp and clearly designed with the campers' experience as the number one priority. Camp directors like Oliver, Liz, Dave, Scott, and Chris seem very competent, organized, and fun. My kids spent a week at Ajax and got to choose from about 10-20 activities each day and chose things like paddleboarding, rock climbing, archery, skateboarding, polar bearing, paintballing, fishing, biking, and some wacky crazy ones that they explained that I really don't understand but sound like the most amazing fun kids activities. Marmot tag and Storm the tower were big hits. Sound fun - glad they can be so creative! Lunch is provided which is awesome. My kids are 7 and 11. Highly recommend for a week in Aspen. read more

Ajax Adventure Camp is the happiest place on earth according to our 9 year old daughter. She has attended the camp for two summers and participated in her first overnight camp out ever last summer. Each day of camp is a different adventure designed by camp and chosen by the camper. One day our daughter is rock climbing; the next she is visiting the animal shelter; the next she is panning for gold; the next, a treasure hunt. The days are filled with good, old-fashioned fun. Lots of fresh air, new friends, intelligent, caring, inspiring counselor. And this all takes place right in Aspen. If the camp accepted parents, I'd sign up! In fact, they used to have family days and I hope one day they have them again! read more

I had two campers at the ranch camp this summer and they arrived home with some dirt on body, sticks in hair, tired, but overall they were HAPPY! They soaked everybit of the experience up. Its a ranch camp at 9,200 feet. The accomodations are rustic, but the fellow campers and dedicated staff are what make the experience. The camp is ever developing and improving. My son reviled in beng a camper the first year. He is part of history now and will forever be ingrained in the camp's legacy! The most amazing camp! I just picked up my daughter from the weeklong Ajax Adventure Camp and she raved about it! The people were great, the counselors were a lot of fun, the activities were always fun (especially the zorb, paddle boarding, and zipline), and the food was great! The first thing she asked was if she could go back next year. We drove straight back to Denver and for the entire 4 hour drive she told me about all of the activities, her new friends, games she played with the counselors and the tents/tipis they slept in. This is the first summer my kids went to Ajax, they went for two weeks and they wanted more! They absolutely loved the camp, and adored their counselors. Since last summer, when we had to cancel the trip (for pandemic reasons) to every last minute situation, the camp has had a wonderful response, always helpful and positive. I would definitely recommend Ajax Adventure Camp for its great organization and its fantastic activities-of the top of my head, they did water rafting, paddle-board, rock climbing, fort building, water ballon fights, hiking, tie-dye and many more. Our 3 boys started attending Ajax Adventure Camp 7 years ago. Our youngest who is 14 is still attending and excited to go back for his 7th year. They really engage the kids with outdoor adventures from rock climbing, white water rafting, fishing, paddle boarding, camping, hiking and the list does on and on as well as crazy fun activities. The counselors are very well trained and are enthusiastic and very engaging and they take safety seriously. My 3 kids LOVED Ajax Adventure Camp! After looking at the list of activities, I wanted to go myself. And the camp did not disappoint. The activities were exciting and fun. The staff was awesome. I was nervous about sending them with COVID, but the camp had detailed policies consistent with state guidelines. I spoke with the director in advance and he answered all my questions and re-affirmed their commitment to the policies. And, sure enough, the camp followed them through the week. Very pleased. Well the verdict's in, my kids now don't want to go anywhere BUT Ajax Adventure Camp! The endless choices of daily activities from river rafting to paintball keep them begging me to send them every day possible during the summer. The amazing, fun, funny, talented and consummately professional staff do such an amazing job relating to the kids and the parents and it allows me to relax knowing they're having the time of their lives while I have to work. The most amazing camp that I've ever been to, EVER! They have responsible and versatile staff, various and super-duper fun activities and most importantly, this is a place where kids can have full access to real nature after a whole school year in cement buildings. They have many different activities every day to cater to different kids: paintball, marmot tag, mountain biking, fishing, camping-out, ga-ga ball and many other you've never known. They were given the freedom to choose the activities they wanted to participate in and the variety offered ensured that they were never bored. The staff at the camp were professional, fun individuals who my kids wouldn't stop talking about. They wanted to spend every day of our vacation at camp! This is an awesome camp and has loads of fun activities for kids! We came home happy and exhausted. The costume wearing activity with Ian was awesome! I wore a bear outfit at one point. Ajax Adventure Camp is amazing! Our boys have been attending for the last few summers when we are on vacation in Aspen. They say it is the best camp ever and better than any camp they have done in our home town. The camp focuses on being good to your fellow campers and having FUN - it's that simple! This is a fantastic camp. My children have been going for several years. The camp is extremely well run. The counselors are very well chosen and are the key to such a great camp. The kids love this camp! They love the flexibility, the camaraderie, and the selection of amazing mountain activities. I heard wonderful reviews and We wasn't disappointed. This camp is a dream. the kids get to choose their activities each day. one in the morning and one in the afternoon. they range from bouldering to extreme hamocking to fishing, zip lining, SUP paddleboarding etc. the kids come home so happy and with so many memories made and new adventures had. it's a wonderful place! read more

Our two granddaughters at 8 and 9 years old LOVED Ajax Camp. They could pick the activities they wanted, tried new experiences, and felt very comfortable with the outstanding counselors.
