She walks every person through the process in such a way that everyone learns something and each person ends up with a beautiful piece of pottery they can be proud of. Center for the Arts Evergreen is now celebrating 50 years of operations (2025). The facility has…read moreexpanded during my years in Colorado from a small cabin near the Buchanan Park Recreation Center to the repurposed church that is its current location. The Phase II expansion completed in June 2024 has greatly enlarged the facility with community spaces, classrooms, artist studios, an artist-in-residence program, and a state-of-the-art ceramics studio. CAE sees its mission as a community hub, hosting ten annual art exhibits, a wide variety of children's and adult classes and workshops, summer camps, and mentorships. There is also a concert series, community rental spaces, arts festivals, an elegant gift shop showcasing local artists, and many community outreach initiatives. I visit the gallery when I come to Evergreen. It is a nice exhibit space and has presented many interesting shows over the years, featuring material of local, regional, and national scope.
