While it is one of the more scenic courses I've found the scheduling is awful as they try to squeeze as many people in and it becomes dangerous with the amount of people and balls flying around the same 9 holes. They even tried to group us with other people to condense the course even more. It is the only course in BV so if you're visiting your options are slim. A lot of improvements needed as it's very beat up but again I can overlook all of that for the amazing views.

Smooth greens, tight fairways, and the layout rewards smart play without being brutal. It is far more polished than most munis. Slightly sad fact? The course runs beside I-70, so mountain serenity comes with a symphony of highway noise. Other private courses in the region do too, but are set back further so the decibel level is lower or insignificant. This location nevertheless is a must-play if you're anywhere near Vail.

Christian and her assistant, Sarah were so responsive and personable that made our planning process easy and actually fun even from a distance (we live in Chicago). They were organized, eager to help and gave lists of top of the line vendors to work with. Christian was welcoming and made us feel so comfortable on their Ranch. She even gave my wife a warm hug and calming words of advice on our wedding day. Deer Creek Valley Ranch will always hold a dear place in our hearts. I'll never forget the amazing sight of my wife coming over the Covered Bridge on a horse drawn carriage to marry me. Now I hear the place is even better now that their Man Cave is done! Some people spend too much time and psychic energy bonding with their golf balls and slow down play. You will definitely lose a few balls on this course so just expect it, live with it and keep moving. With the thick vegetation and the meandering creek these balls are gone forever so just let them go. II'd play here again anytime!

At times it feels like you're putting out of a sand trap no matter where your ball lands. If you're looking for smooth greens, this isn't the place. If you're looking for wildlife and an overpriced zoo, you've found it.
