This was an amazing experience! I was not too excited to take part in a snowmobile expedition but I was blown away. The staff at the Lazy 7 Ranch were incredibly helpful and even though I was not dressed for the occasion, they allowed me to use some of their suits for the ride. It was 275 for 1 rider and 375 for 2, but because we were supposed to ride on the specific Maroon Bells route and it was closed because of the snow, we were given a discount and given an opportunity to ride another route. Our guides were Tyler and Ryan (I think, I forgot) and they were awesome. Took the time to show us everything and allowed us to take as many pictures as we wanted in the area. The trail itself is awesome and you are able to see a ton of sights and wildlife. You can also see the mountain that Paramount bases their intros off of. My wife and I loved it and we will DEFINITELY be back if we are ever in Aspen. read more

Went snowmobiling for the first time while visiting Aspen for a friend's 50th birthday celebration. This was one of the many activities she put together for the guests in attendance. This company offers several tour options and our group selected the 2/2.5 hour tour. We arrived quite early for our planned excursion. One of the women who checked us in wasn't the friendliest but at least she got someone to turn on the outside heaters so we could try to stay warm while waiting for our tour to begin. Every person participating in the tour is required to sign a waiver. They do sell hand and toe warmers if you don't think to bring them with you. They provide a helmet with a visor so you won't need goggles because they won't fit under the visor, but sunglasses can be accommodated. Additionally, they have a limited supply of boots and gloves if you're aren't adequately dressed for the tour. Our group was but it's a nice touch that they offer these items. Our tour guides were Dominic, Sam, Quentin, and Devin. They were exceptional. They would stop to share history about the area and allow us to take photos along the way. I highly recommend that you get them to take your pictures because their skills are unmatched. They know how to capture you and the beauty of the area and experience. You will receive hot chocolate or cider at the midway point. At the end, you get to race in an open area with an oval track. The whole experience is exhilarating! I recommend that you try their tour when visiting the area. read more

What a great experience! My group and I took the lunch snowmobiling tour with Sam and Gabe. We expected to be cold and not see much- we couldn't have been more wrong. Not only were Sam and Gabe full of Colorado fun facts, we were able to stop to take in the views. They provided us with warm hot coco and delicious burgers! We had a vegetarian in our group and they were very accommodating. From heated handle bars, driving in the wilderness, and yummy burgers, we could NOT recommend this enough! This was my husband and I's first time snowmobiling and we had a blast. We did the Maroon Bells sunset tour and it was a lot of fun. They take you around on the trails a bit before going to see Maroon Bells. It's a beautiful view and you spend some time there with a warm drink provided. Be prepared for it to be cold. We do a lot of outdoor activities, but they all involve us moving and generating heat. The wind blowing on you while you're just sitting there makes it very cold. The thing that ruined the experience for us a bit was the rest of the group we were with. They were awful drivers. They kept driving off the trail even when it was very wide. They were also all tailgating and swerving like crazy. They made it so we had to stop frequently because people kept getting stuck. I wish the guides would have told them to knock it off because they definitely weren't following the directions we were given at the beginning. Overall, I'm definitely glad we did it. I'm not sure how often we'd do it since it's so expensive, but it was fun to do once. read more

I was amazed at how beautiful the scenery was it actually have me shocked. Instead of following the person in front of me I just kept looking around at the beautiful mountains in the snow covering the trees. They were patient with the 29 people who were broken up into three separate groups. The ride was fun and the guides (Sadrian & Colton) were knowledgeable and helpful along the way. Our group of 9 ranged from 4-48 and everyone had a blast! Unfortunately the 16 yo could ride his own owe policy (which we totally get) so he got to do a ride with the guide and lead the group which I think enjoyed. Today I went with my brother and sister in law and their children on the Maroon Bells tour. We got there early as requested, so we could sign in, sign waivers, and pay. From there we moved to their locker room area where they check your winter gear, offer you options if you're not adequately prepared for cold weather snowmobiling. Boots, helmet, I was layered up and all set to go! There was a large group they broke out into 4 smaller groups. We were in the first group so they take the time to explain the operation of the snowmobile, some of the safety hand signals, and rules of the road. Once we finished, we were off. This is a guided tour, so if you're looking for speed, you're not going to take this specific tour. That being said, we were the first tour of the 2019-2020 winter season so we were fortunate there was enough snow to accommodate us. We stopped a few times along the way, Zach was the first guide and James brought up the rear. For safety and peace of mind it's nice to know that there's someone to help out in case you need it. Each time we stopped Zach presented the facts of the area, the specific Aspen trees, the beauty of the backdrop we would see when driving up the trail, and at the top we had a chance to take photos and view the Maroon Bells area. So peaceful and the scenery is unmatched. They operate a small shack at the top so we have an option of getting a cup of hot chocolate or warm cider. Perfect spot to warm up since it was cold today. Kids especially were trying to stay warm so it's much appreciated. We made our way down to the end, where they operate a "racing oval" where our group had 3 laps to finish the tour. Once finished it was back to the locker room to give their gear back and head out. It's important to note there are other tours offered, some that are longer and include a meal (the ranch has their own cattle). I'm not sure if that one allows for faster speeds but you should ask if you're Ricky Bobby and only wanna go fast. Zach and James were so kind, helpful- always asking if we were ok, if anyone needed anything, offered to take photos for anyone, and generally were laid back while making sure we were safe and not at risk. I'm not sure you can choose your guides but hopefully they are all as good as ours. read more

First and foremost, big shoutout to Axl and Sam for leading our group on one of the most enjoyable motorized vehicle tours I've ever been on. I love a good quad, and can't pass up a jet ski, but snowmobiling is a completely different category of fun, especially in the mountains of Colorado. TL7 is tucked away off anything resembling a main road, and offers a huge fleet of snowmobiles as well as a variety of tour options. They aren't the cheapest tour in the area, but you definitely get what you pay for. Seeing snow covered Maroon Bells with voiceover from knowledgeable and funny tour guides (second shoutout to Axl and Sam) all the while topping out at 44mph on fresh powder in order to get there was worth every penny. Two hours went by in a flash; we got our helmets and the warmest boots I've ever put on, and after a quick run up and down some narrow trails we made our way to the wider stretches of snow covered road that allowed us to (safely) hit our top speeds. Each stop offered a different view, and there were plenty of pictures to take. Not only did they offer to take picture of us, this was the first time ANYONE has even thought to switch over to portrait mode. Most of the time asking someone "can you take a photo of us" results in a tri-chinned monstrosity taken from an angle you didn't even know was possible, or no photo whatsoever because they hit the wrong button. We ended up with some amazing, framable, and most definitely instagrammable shots of the two of us. They did this at every stop too! Once we got to the Maroon Bells we hung out for a while, yelled a lot to try and make some snow move (didn't happen), and had some hot drinks before heading back. The only potential issue with the tour is the other people that you go with. We were lucky enough to be paired with a family that decided there was a 12mph speed limit (I was able to pass them) and one person from that crackerjack group managed to drive off the road during the initial "practice" ride, so we had to wait for that too. Your group is out of your control and a roll of the dice, but the same can be said about any group tour. The views were incredible, the machines were fast, and our guides were awesome. Next year I think we'll opt for the longer tour with lunch; there's a lot of Colorado snow covered wilderness I haven't explored yet, and it is best done on snowmobile. Oh, and remember that family from the other paragraph? Yeah, while we were pulling in - yes, the day was done and we were parking - one of them crashed into someone else. Even at 4mph, they are 100% paying for bodywork that just doubled the price of their tour. read more

My hubby and I went today as part of our anniversary trip up here and we both had such a great time! We originally booked for Maroon Bells, but it had to get switched due to weather conditions. We didn't mind at all, though, because the trail we got to go on was still beautiful! Our guides were Becca and Seth and they were great and so accommodating. We originally got two singles so each of us could drive, but at the point where we stopped for hot cocoa, I let my husband know I wasn't too confident driving because it felt like I kept having to fight my snowmobile to even go straight (this was my first time). Hubby asked Seth if it would be possible to have me as a passenger instead, and it was perfectly fine!
