Craving for some sushi for a long time and we found a place that we thought suited vegans. We were attended quickly and had a table ready. We asked the gentleman to let us know which had fish sauce, dairy or eggs. He suggested quite a few items and we went with all of them. The buffet on a weekday is reasonably priced specially because we don't any seafood or any meats (or eggs or dairy for that matter). The staff knew which items were not for us was a big plus and made some adjustments and some that he mentioned that he just couldn't - which to us meant a lot as well. Most of the dishes are good. The sushi/roll rice is bit under seasoned from what we are used to. Also the avocado the first time we had was ice cold and the rest were fine. The food here is subpar at best, but since it's the only AYCE sushi in town, we gave it a shot. After paying for our meal, I was reaching for my wallet to leave a $80 cash tip. Before I could even get the money out, the waiter came running back to the table and loudly demanded a tip. He proceeded to publicly berate me in front of my guests and the entire restaurant. I was shocked. Because of his aggressive and unprofessional behavior, I gave him $10 instead of the $80 I had planned. I love Ajisai as a mediocre AYCE sushi place.You can't compare the quality to Yasu and other fancy high end places in the city.And it would be absolutely unfair to compare it them. So for the price the quality and taste is bang on!! I have had heart sushi, and few other AYCE and find them particularly this location to be the best. Iris is my forever favorite waitress and she's always there when I end up being there.Their service is quick and everything comes out pretty fast what takes them the most amount of time are the beef ribs and which ar to die for. My standard go tos are the cheese wontons, edamame, ribs, tempuras, some sushi and their seafood fried rice and chicken general tao are both just too good. This is one of my regular restaurants in Milton when I'm craving a quick sushi fix.I don't know how busy they get on weekends I'm always here for a weekday lunch and there are always seating. Ambience wise this location is a so so nothing fancy just basic.There is lots of parking outside the restaurant.Bathrooms are located on the lower level which is quite inconvenient. read more

A friend posted about how happy they were that this place was open again so I decided to check it out despite dubious reviews. The worst Japanese food I have ever eaten! I'm a vegetarian so I am not commenting on fish here but the veggie food was so bad that I actually felt sick eating it. Mango was white it was so under ripe and the avocado was so over ripe that the texture was like baby food. Tempura had clearly been cooked earlier and then heated up in the fryer. It was oozing grease and the asparagus was so over done it was almost liquid. Edamame was hard as rocks. The biggest challenge with a Japanese buffet is that we ordered a very reasonable amount of food, most of it inedible and then got told off for over ordering and threatened with a surcharge for waste. ‍‍‍‍ Save your money and your stomach and go literally anywhere else. read more

I am from Vancouver and have had sushi from coast to coast. I groaned when a friend of mine offer to take me here because, my experiances with Toronto sushi joints are; let's say "underwelming". This place I admit is nothing to get excited about from the outside or inside, but the food is actually pretty good and the price is decent too. I thought the Butterfield was delicious and the salmon is pretty good too. I didn't like the bacon wrapped prawn shrimp thing. The short rips were tender and tasty. I would have given them 4 stars but the service can be a bit off as it was my night. I also do not understand why they only give you one napkin... Overall I'll try a few other places and we'll see how it compares and I'll update. read more

I really wish I checked Yelp before coming here.. it would've saved me the awful dining experience I had last weekend! My boyfriend and I arrived at 9:20pm. The host advised that last call would be in 20 min. Being frequent AYCE sushi goers, we already knew what we would order and had no problem ordering it all at once. We also figured we had time to eat since the sign at the front said they close at 10:30pm. The food came out really quickly. It was just us and another table who left soon after we sat down. We started eating at around 9:40. And then things got uncomfortable. As we were eating, about 6 staff members left the restaurant and were standing outside in the parking lot. I could see them clearly as I ate. I guess they had clocked out early but I wasn't sure why they were standing outside. There was one staff member sitting 4 tables down from us (on his phone I think) and was basically waiting for us to finish eating so he could leave. It wasn't even 10pm!!! I felt rushed to eat fast and uncomfortable with the level of unprofessionalism. We finished eating a little after 10pm. I called the server over and asked for icecream. He was not happy about that but brought it out for us. We paid and left, walking by the staff members waiting outside. I think they might have carpooled. Aside from the discomfort I felt, the sushi itself wasn't that good. The soy sauce was so salty. We asked for the low sodium option and even that tasted just as salty as the regular. Came with the family and very hungry late lunch, very slow service and I miss the Sushi place that has the iPad to order here you need to write in a paper. The Maki rolls are okay but I had better, the chicken teriyaki is like microwave chicken, tempura are small. I don't know I have good feedback here but I am not an expert on Sushi I just go on what my kids love and what we can get quickly that's ready fast for an extremely busy family on the go AjiSai Milton has a very good pricepoint for quick family takeout, we never do the buffet but have ordered the following dishes for take out or delivery and love them. average dinner is about $45 to$55 depending on what we order and that addresses dinner for 3 adults and 2 kids. Favs for us to order on the go: Japanese Deep Fried Chicken with Lemon, Sesame Chicken (hubbys fav), kids love the chicken balls (white breast meat and not oily), Green Dragon Rolls (my son loves these), Firehouse and Volcano Rolls (my favs) - fantastic. Sashimi is not perfect but for the price I think it's definitely good value - we prefer the service here. The menu has a good selection and the food is very tasty. I was very surprised to see that this restaurant only has an average of 2.5 stars. Sure, All You Can Eat sushi restaurants lacks in quality and service, but here you get overly dry rice flavored with excessive amount of sauce. Other inexpensive sushi restaurants serve flavorless rice as well, at least they are not dry. It should be moist, semi-sticky and contain vinegary sweetness. If you like this place, you don't know sushi. As I finished the very first piece of sushi, I looked around to see if anyone was actually enjoying their meal. I sensed that they were doing the same thing. It was the first time I had sushi in Milton. Hope people of Milton don't think what they serve is sushi. They must have used a razor blade to slice the fish to get it this think. This is an all you can eat restaurant but we ordered a la cart for pick up. The rice was very gummy and completely ruined the rolls and sushi. They also missed an item I ordered but didn't charge me for it. I was excited to try a "new" AYCE sushi place in Milton because my husband and I wanted to branch out from our regular spot. I saw a lot of mixed reviews (good and bad) and thought what the heck, let's try this for ourselves. Let me say, I've had better. The service was average-it's not like they were there at your beck and call but they also weren't MIA. The food was very disappointing though. The sushi had this weird texture, as if the rice wasn't fresh and each piece took forever to chew. It was horrible! Usually we can finish quite a few rolls with maybe a couple pieces leftover; this time, we had almost two rolls untouched; it was just that hard to finish!! If you really feel like going to an AYCE sushi place in Milton, there are much better options. Milton has some pretty awesome a la carte sushi places which don't compare to AYCE so if you're really looking for a good sushi experience, try a la carte. The staff was a bit direct, and there was a big delay (20 minutes) between our courses. Turns out a portion of our order went missing somehow - it took a good 5 minutes to get someone's attention. Waited 45 mins for lunch. Asked the older server twice if our food was still coming and was told "ya, ya it's coming". 5 other tables received their order, finally after asking a different waitress she checked and they had lost the order. The older server was uapologetic and we filled out a new order. We waited an additional 15 mins and then got our first roll. 10 mins later we were told it was last call and if we wanted anything we better order it now. I tried explaining that our first order was lost and we should be allowed to have an additional order. I was told too bad lunch is over. I was very disappointed in the Milton location. Very average. not terrible, but not amazing. they still manually take your order on paper, and then bring it out to you. which means, they forget things. Not very prompt on coming back for more orders. this is why the checklist option works so much better. we sat eating amongst dirty dishes for quite a while. menu is VERY LIMITED! outside it says over 100 items. not true at all. i would not recommend this place, or go back. Simply because I expect a better food experience when I have sushi. I expect more prompt service also. plus point was that servers speak good english. most of them at least. No sashimi at lunch AYCE but tasty rolls with traditional and more creative combinations. We loved the King Vegetable Roll. Selections of soups, salads and grill or kitchen items are standard. Try the sesame chicken, it was great! Slow service and had to ask for more water. But I didn't expect the exceptional at only $12.99 pp. Would return and obviously so would lots of other people with how packed it was today at lunch. read more

Been here 2 or 3 times in 2013. They have a wide range of japanese items like most AYCE sushi places. While I agree the price is very reasonable, the food and the quality speak for themselves. The food was OK, average at best. There are other sushi joints that are better. The interior looks sketchy and old. I think that if they renovate and up their quality, I will definitely check it out again. read more
