Average sushi, not much to say. Price is decent for the combos and gets you full. Service is good though.

we called ahead and found out they offer a 10% discount when paying cash, which was nice to know beforehand. the location is about 15-20 minutes from mississauga city centre, though it took us closer to 25-30 minutes to get there around 6 pm due to traffic. when we arrived, the restaurant looked clean, and there were no dirty dishes left on tables. we were seated right away since there were plenty of empty tables. using the iPad to check the menu, we saw the weekday dinner price (mon-thurs) was $35.95. since it was our first time here, we weren't sure what to expect. we did notice the menu wasn't as extensive as some other AYCE places. for example, the sashimi section didn't include red bluefin tuna, which was surprising because others had photos of it in reviews. later, we realized you could order bluefin tuna, but only as sushi--not as sashimi. overall, the dinner menu felt a little limited compared to other spots. as for the food, we found that some rolls used more rice or cheese and less fish, which threw off the balance. some of the sashimi and tempura had a briny scent and taste, which can sometimes happen with previously frozen fish. however, the salmon was a highlight--fresh and flavorful, with a good rice-to-vinegar ratio for the sushi rice. the grilled salmon sushi was definitely our favorite dish of the night. one downside was the short rib, which was chewy and tough to eat. our waiter provided consistent service, clearing dirty plates quickly and keeping our ocha green tea refilled. the complimentary tea was hot and comforting on a cold winter day. paying the bill, however, was a bit confusing. a different staff member asked if we were paying cash, and when we said yes, we were initially charged regular price instead of the discounted amount. when we questioned it, she explained, "it's tax-free already, you can't get the discount," but then walked away. shortly after, she returned and adjusted the bill. it felt a little strange because the tax-free policy was a government holiday mandate, not a restaurant incentive tied to paying cash. what stood out as particularly odd was when the same staff member told us twice, "the bill doesn't include tip," before quickly walking away again. she didn't return with our paid receipt, which felt awkward. we ended up giving our tip directly to our waiter, who had been great throughout the evening. overall, this place is an affordable option for AYCE sushi at $35 on weekdays, but you get what you pay for. the menu is smaller, and some dishes were hit-or-miss. while the salmon was a standout and service from our waiter was solid, the inconsistent food quality and odd experience at the end left us feeling a bit mixed.

Cheese wontons

Tried this places randomly one night and definitely don't regret it. The salmon sashimi was absolutely amazing. Not cut too thin and it was very fresh! Also the cheese wontons were some of the best I've ever had! Some places cheese wontons taste like nothing but the cheese wontons at moon sushi are so tasty and are very crispy. I will definitely be back!

a variety of food items on a table
Areej Q.

Called ahead to make reservations for 8. Table was ready upon entering. To order, you use an iPad that connects to the kitchen. Many items (sushi pizza, dragon rolls, yam tempura, cheese wantons to name a few) were not delivered to the table and we were pressed to place multiple orders of the same thing to increase the likelihood of receiving them. That bit was frustrating since we thought we might get more than we bargained for.. Server had to be flagged down to request undelivered items. Service needs a lot of work! The food was pretty good. Some dishes had more flavour and were a lot tastier than others. Sashimi slices were cut thick. The menu is vast. We sampled a bit everything; grilled squid, coconut shrimp, shrimp tempura, steak, beef enoki mushroom (so yummy), an assortment of Maki rolls and more. I really enjoyed the salads and cheese wontons! Salad dressing was tasty. The wontons were fresh out of the deep fryer and were scorching hot. One bite and my tongue got burnt by the melted cheese. So good though! I haven't had AYCE sushi in a while. I'll be returning soon for sure. No photos were taken this time around as food was being devoured.

Did AYCE sushi here -- ordering system was great. You use an iPad to pick out the items and send the order to the kitchen. Our server was pretty brusque however, and stared at us blankly without explaining how the iPad works. Points for the food coming out pretty fast and the dishes being cleared away promptly. Sadly the food did not meet expectations. I got a variety of dishes, and a lot of it was just tasteless. Lots of filler with imitation crab, and the salmon topping on our sushi roll was sliced so thinly you could practically see through it. The sesame chicken was mostly batter. The mango salad was iceberg lettuce with thinly sliced mango pieces and some kind of sweet sauce. 10% off for cash payment.

Prices rose again by ~$1.00. Lunch AYCE on a Thursday was $17.95. They also stopped doing the Yelp/regular 10% cash discount for lunch, but they still do it for dinner.

My absolute favorite sushi spot in town! And i visit a lottttt of sushi places around the GTA. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh, and the food that is not sushi/sashimi, comes out piping hot! The staff is nice and attentive. The only downside is that the drinks are not refills, but it's not a big deal. They have quite a nice variety of rolls and dishes. I highly recommend this place

Sweet and sour chicken

Moon sushi is one of my favourite AYCE to go to as well as pick up sushi because of its affordability as well as its discount if you pay cash. However, the experience I had with their takeout hasn't been the best. Food: The food is always good. I really like their dancing dragon roll as well as spicy crab roll. In all honestly, the dancing dragon is my favourite as it's quite different as has a unique taste to it(in a good way). The sweet and sour chicken really disappointed me. The portion was huge yet the taste was really lacking. It was hard to chew with little to no chicken and it was didn't taste like sweet and sour chicken. Their AYCE sweet and sour is way better than their takeout. The broccoli also taste raw. Price: As mentioned before, the price is pretty affordable for the large amount that you get. All the food here only cost 47 dollars, which is pretty cheap. The sweet and sour chicken surprised me with the price due to the big portion and that it was 7 dollars. Customer service: Never really had great customer service at moon. The servers always seem to be yelling, whether it's about someone or to their own employees. Their phone service is quite rude and often time, you would have to call a few times to reach them. I got put on hold and the server never came to pick up the phone afterwards. I also had things missing from my order and when i went inside to show them, they questioned my honestly. They also wouldn't give me my receipt. However, They did end up giving me my roll of sushi back during my last visit (they didn't for the other 2 times i ordered because i had already left and opened it when i got home). Overall: It's an okay sushi place. I would go if you're paying cash because there's a 10 percent discount but it's really not that amazing.

I don't frequent AYCE sushi places but I was really craving some bomb ass cheese wontons. I was doing a lot of research on different suchi places in the Mississauga area. Originally I had wanted to check out Heart Sushi but their reviews have plummeted. That's when I discovered Moon Sushi. Yo, everything was so good! I am disappointed because there were several items I wanted to try that were only offered during dinner. Either way, they were not short on items to make me feel like I was going to explode. Yaaassss, cheese wontons were On POINT! They actually deserved to be called cheese wontons. They were FILLED. I could eat these like chips. Another standout for my gf and I was the salad. I know right? Wtf? The salad dressing they use which is almost like a thousand island, was so delicious. I wanted to get another salad at the end but really did not have any room. I know the dressing is probably so basic, but damn it was so good. Chicken cutlet was a little dry but I had so much other food, it didn't really matter. Bulgogi and rice. YUUM. The chicken curry had a nice little kick and was not too spicy. Just the right amount. My friends and I agreed everything was delicious and a good sushi spot. We would all return. ALSO, when you check in on Yelp, they give you a 10% off offer. You must pay cash though, which luckily for me, there was an RBC in the same plaza. Can't wait to return!

ridiculous 1mm thick of tilapia

I went to Moon Sushi today for a lunch with my wife and daughter. I ordered a Sashimi Boat (30 pc) and Ikura sushi (Salmon Roe), my wife ordered a chicken cutlet box and my daughter ordered Lion Roll and Rock Roll. The attendant was very polite and I asked about the sizes of the sashimi because of bad experiences at other restaurants. She said the portions are regular and they don't reduce the sizes just to count the number of pieces. When my order came, I had a big surprise. The Kani was cut in half and each halt was counted as one piece. The pieces of Tuna and tilapia were so small. Tiny pieces of Calamary (couldn't even take pictures). And they put cheap clams to count as one piece each ... and tiny shrimps. My wife gave me her nigiri sushi and I pull out the fish and it has literally 1mm thick. The rice of my Salmon Roe Nigiri was so hard that I couldn't eat it in full. I call the waitress and explain to her that I was disappointed because I asked her before and told her my bad experiences with other restaurants, she just said I should order individual pieces. Their site has fake review, pointing more than 5 stars (5.3) which doesn't exist (?) , just to mislead people, why they are doing this?? I took many pictures and will put them in my blog, there are much better restaurants here in Mississauga.

Takeout

I love moon! It always has great food at a very affordable price. Food tastes fresh and delicious (out of the countless times I've been there it's only missed the mark very few times). Take out is also super quick and always packed well. While the service may feel rushed to some I actually enjoy that their very to the point. This has been my go to sushi place for years now. I also highly recommend ordering straight from them and avoid ordering through Ubereats or SkipTheDishes as it is considerably more expensive (unless you really can't pick up the order).

Round one at moon sushi

Hello fellow foodies I am back with another food review of moon sushi Now I have been to this place once before but here goes my review It's a very nice restaurant with plenty of booths very clean and the service was exceptionally fast , there was not much of a waite after i ordered the various dishes from there tablet a very cool feature i must say. The food was very detailed almost served like in a gaurmet style fashion , the presentation of food was just amazing . The variety of food I had from sushi to specialty dishes were all very fresh very flavorful with plenty of different dips and sauces to accompany them . The food was A+ in my books However i am only giving moon sushi a 4 star rating because it was very pricey it cost me $33.00 without a drink plus taxes and tip so very expensive but if price is not an issue check these guys out great food

Chantelle B.

I want to give Moon Sushi a 5 star but I've never sat in, I've only done take out. That being said, the package their take out very well in nice containers. I've gotten the Spicy Maki set with 18 pieces of maki (6 spicy salmon, 6 spicy tuna and 6 spicy avocado), green salad and miso soup both times. I paid an extra $2 and switched out the spicy avocado roll for a spicy scallops roll the second time... which was a great decision! The spicy avo roll is still very good but I wanted a little extra you know? Let me start from the top - the miso soup is not too salty and has almost a butteriness to it if that makes sense. The green salad dressing is very good too. I wish they face you more than one slice of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber though. The maki rolls were the star. The fish was fresh and finely cut, the roll was tight and did not fall apart, there wasn't an overwhelming amount of "crispy pieces" as well, there was enough spicy sauce inside. My favourite part of Moon Sushi's rolls is the rice. It is a very thin layer and the rice doesn't taste stale or old! Prices are also decent. The maki set was under $15, plus you get 10% off if you pay with cash. You can't find the menu anywhere online so I'll try to snap a photo for my yelpers :)

We made reservations in case but hardly a line unlike the experience at Dragon legend( had reservations but line up for it was still out the door and around building) It was busy but lots of food at the hot tables being refilled often, beverages refreshed and dishes from our table promptly removed. Service was attentive in the dining rooms and friendly by the hostess station. Lunch had enough items to be happy with, but it seemed like they altered the BBQ/Grill station to breakfast foods, like bacon and fried eggs and had a few empty slots where I remember had items previously. Highs: -Black peppered beef cubes very very tender and flavourful - fried noodles on point - tofu pudding dessert had a gingered sugar syrup to drizzle on top Lows: -peking duck seemed more hard instead of crispy skin - fried egg Left the restaurant very stuffed, kids were happy. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted to a very clean and modern ambience that reminded me kind of like some of the big buffets in Las Vegas. Very cool setup where they have 3 self serve fountain drinks which is included in your buffet price. In the middle they have a grilling area where they are grilling Basa fish, salmon, chicken, sirloin steak. The steak was amazing they put this butter, garlic garnish on top that makes it so delicious. I had 8 of these steaks this evening! They also had a stir fry, soup noodle where you can choose your own ingredients, different vegetables and protein and carbs for them to either turn into a stir fry or soup noodle. They had plenty of ice cream to choose from as well as a soft serve ice cream machine. The service provided by the employees were top notch, so friendly, and helpful. The sushi rice was overcooked, and the sushi kept falling apart every time I tried to pick it up. The food prepared at the live cooking station was very watery, and the salmon was dry and lacked flavor. The customer service also did not meet my expectations, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. The chef's cooking felt rushed and, in my opinion, lacked the care and attention I usually hope for when dining out. Even the dessert was a letdown. My 9-year-old commented that the ice cream toppings were disappointing, which was surprising considering how simple that part of the meal should be. To make things even more heartbreaking, this was my birthday. I wasn't expecting a big celebration or for the staff to sing to me, but I had hoped for a small gesture, a simple slice of cake with a candle or even just a sincere "Happy Birthday" from the waitress or a manager. I understand restaurants aren't obligated to do this, but a little hospitality on a special occasion can leave a lasting positive impression. Instead, I left feeling disappointed. I traveled all the way from Scarborough to celebrate here, and unfortunately, it will be my last visit. Positive: Unlimited lemonade Great ice machine. Pizza was "all right"

When we had first arrived, we were told that it would be a two-hour wait, and that we would need to have a pager with us at all times that would be used to notify us once a table was ready. We weren't able to get a pager immediately as they were all being used therefore, we had to wait at least fifteen minutes before we were able to get one. Once we had that pager in hand, we waited about one hour for our table, which was actually not as long as we had expected. Upon entering the restaurant via an escalator from the first floor, we were pleased to see how picturesque it was. With the large windows showcasing the horse racing at the time, along with the tables that boasted their own private television screens, we were impressed with how wonderful and inviting everything looked. Upon being seated, we were given programs on the betting available for the evening's races, which was detailed with everything we needed to know. We also noticed that there was a middle-aged woman coming around, asking us if we were interested in placing bets during our dining experience. The diners went wild during the races, which created an exciting, yet sometimes, loud atmosphere. In terms of the dining, I was pleasantly surprised with how many options were available. Since it was only $12.95 (with a Winners Circle Card), I was blown away at how much food was placed within the buffet area, with an area dedicated to bread with a variety of spreads, another area with salads and other cold appetizers (such as artichokes, cold cuts, cheese, etc.), a hot table (with such items as lasagna, pizza, chicken, fish, and more), along with a dessert section, which boasted a wide variety of desserts, and a few dishes of fruit. All of the items were well-prepared, and everything tasted fantastic, with each item at the hot table coming onto my plate hot (temperature-wise), which is rare to find in a buffet. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this buffet, and would highly-recommend it to anyone who wants delicious food, at a low price. The only thing that I didn't like was the waiting period, and how slow it was, considering that many guests usually sit there the entire evening, watching the races and eating for hours on end. Although this is definitely the idea of the trackside buffet, it could have been the reason why we were so delayed in getting to our table. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, and will definitely be going again!

What was even more noticeable was that the other tables around us weren't receiving much attention either, so it didn't appear to be an isolated incident. We work in the service industry ourselves and are usually very generous tippers because we understand how demanding the job can be. Great service goes a long way, but unfortunately this restaurant completely missed the mark. There are plenty of excellent Korean restaurants with friendlier service, more reasonable prices, and much more generous side dishes. Sadly, this won't be a place we'll return to.

Was really hoping this place was worth the drive in the middle of the weekday from downtown. The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. Was interesting to come and experience it but I wouldn't come back. I prefer quality food over an IG-moment.

Fishman Lobster Clubhouse Restaurant on Finch Avenue East in Scarborough serves an unforgettable…read moreseafood feast, though you will need plenty of patience. The establishment is famous for its iconic, towering mountains of deep-fried Hong Kong-style lobster and giant Alaskan king crabs.Without a doubt, the food is exceptional. The seafood is extraordinarily fresh--pulled straight from massive surrounding glass tanks--and prepared to absolute perfection with their signature Maggi sauce and garlic toppings. However, the major downside here is the notoriously slow and chaotic service. Due to the massive crowds, servers can be hard to flag down, orders take a long time to arrive, and the staff often feels rushed or inattentive. Despite the frustrating wait times and subpar service, the spectacular flavors and theatrical presentation make it a worthwhile destination for patient seafood lovers.Watch the massive lobster towers being prepared and served fresh at this iconic spot
