Same as Yakiniku Legend. Deliciois japanese style BBQ with sushi. Their strip steak and miso pork belly were my top picks. Their sushi rolls especially the one topped with scallop is a must try. The only thing I felt that was not as good were the lychee pudding and their soft serve ice cream. Interior was very cool themed and modern. Be prepared for long waits as we queued for a table for 4 one hour before we had arrived at the location. Service has always been excellent with frequent grill changes and multiple servers walking around. The variety of side dishes to go along with the BBQ meat is what sets them apart from other BBQ places. Love there is a wait list which is so convenient to avoid standing around the restaurant. Service is usually taken care of by 2 servers per section, so always someone near by to help Managers/Owners make sure everyone is taken care of. I find them very attentive to what is going on It is loud and somewhat crazy with all the movement of food servers. The one complaint I have is the crowd that sometimes forms at the entrance. It baffles me when there is a waitlist and a texting system to notify you when your table is ready, why people insist on standing at the entrance waiting for their table. The crowd was so big one visit I had people standing inches from my table with their jackets almost touching the top of my food. I had to ask them to move. Overall. Went here twice in 2 weeks so you know the food is good! AYCE but quality. Our favorite were the galbi, steak, pork jowl and cold noodles. Best dessert would be the coffee pudding and you can't say no to ice cream - they got matcha or vanilla. The service was good however you might get rushed out when the restaurant is full and has people waiting. Ambiance is fine and I like that you don't smell like bbq afterwards! This all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue spot was honestly such a good experience. Literally endless sushi, tons of well-seasoned meats, and a huge menu with so many options to choose from. The quality of the food really stood out, everything tasted fresh and well made, especially the grilled meats. They were seasoned perfectly and cooked so well. The menu is actually really big, which I loved because there's something for everyone. From different types of sushi and rolls to a variety of meats and hot dishes, you definitely won't get bored. And the desserts were such a highlight. The crème brûlée was so good, and they even had matcha ice-cream. The interior is really nice too. Not too much rice with each piece. The meal was quality. Amazing cuts of meat. All very tender and well seasoned. Their cheese corn is pretty bomb also. And they serve cocktails! It was the evening and quite busy (lots of people waiting for a random Tuesday night). A reasonable volume but fairly frequently they play a birthday song. I soon found out why. Seems like anyone can have a birthday there. All of a sudden, it was my birthday (note, it was not my birthday) but we all laughed about it. They bring a big flashing board, sing happy birthday, they bang clappers and you get a little cup cake with a candle. No lie, the birthday song played between 10-15x during our meal. Statistically unlikely but hilarious and very amusing. They also offered 10% cash discount instead of 7%. Great quality & value is usually less common to come by when dining at an AYCE restaurant but Gyu Kyou absolutely knocks it out of the park. I was introduced to this restaurant by my friend and have since revisited several times, each bringing new people to share this experience with. The quality of the food is amazing, and even when you're on a smaller menu like the lunch one, you still have plenty of solid options with immaculate flavor. My personal favorites are the sweet soy sliced brisket and the pressed salmon sushi. I also really enjoy their soft serve. Atmosphere is pretty cool and seating is ample, I like that most tables are booths, and even if you end up with a chair they are pretty comfy. There is also an automatic 12% gratuity charge and a 1.5hr dining time limit which is strictly enforced. I don't have a problem with this though because service is always on top of everything like refills, reordering, grill changes, etc. The only critique I have for this place is the birthday music they play at an obnoxious volume, when the song comes on you can literally hear it getting slightly distorted from how loud it is. I totally understand wanting to make someone's birthday celebration special and grand, all I'm suggesting is to turn the volume down like 5-10 levels. Especially because every time I've been to Gyu Kyou, they play the birthday song multiple times and after the second it gets kind of annoying from the volume. The reservation system is insane for groups. No reso availability for weeks at normal dining times. Nothing until 9pm which is whack. They tell you to come in and put yourself on the waitlist and that the wait is around 1.5 to 2hrs... it ends up being a 3 hour wait. Might be the best AYCE bbq in the GTA! I said it yes, better than gyubee. The meats were very good quality and they had very good appetizers that other places do not have like tempura king oyster mushroom and spicy rock shrimp. The sushi was very refreshing and good quality not fishy at all. Highly recommend pressed salmon sushi and fire dragon roll. Service was fast and efficient there was a server walking by very often. It was easy to order. Ambiance is a bit dark interior and the restaurant was average size. They had a nice restroom. Thankfully my party arrived around 5 on sunday there wasn't a wait list but once 6-7 o'clock came there was a huge waitlist. read more

Service is absolutely abysmal. We come on a Thursday evening and it's PACKED. The wait list had 36 groups on, several groups of 2. Why? Because this place doesn't allow reservations for parties 5-6 or greater. We joined the wait list around 7:30 pm. We were told to check in at 8:25 pm, upon doing this we were then told by the moron host that "I have to send you a text to check in first". We check in again at 8:54p pm, still no message. Last call is at 10:10 pm and there was only around an hour to order. While writing this it had been nearly an hour and a half since joining the wait list and we are ONLY 6th in line due to other groups dropping out of the wait. DO NOT do date night here. I've been here twice and was consistently blown away by the quality of food, large selection and good ambiance. Worth mentioning : Sushi, beef tataki, cold noodles, yuzu miso shrimp. I can't remember the names of the meats but everything we tried was good. The only thing to note is their portions are quite small so I recommend know how much you can eat and get multiple orders items at once to save waiting time. The menu is so extensive it can get overwhelming, so I also recommend writing everything down to order efficiently lol read more

Can't book a reservation and had to wait almost 3 hrs just to be seated, Ordered 2 sushi dishes that never came and a server that's nowhere to be found. When the bill came, we were faced with a forced tipping system of 12%! I personally wouldn't even tip for a service like this. Overhyped for nothing, I hope you guys do better. I happened to be in the Mississauga area which is what got me into Gyu Kyou, and it did not disappoint for a last minute dining choice. We were seated right away and the menu was readily available via QR code scan at the table. The AYCE dinner menu has a good selection of meat as well as non-meat options, and they have different sauces that you can combine at the table. I personally liked the miso pork belly and the sweet soy marinated short rib. There is plenty of seating, so it is relatively noisy with all of the conversation and the grilling happening, but it isn't anything overwhelming. The service here is also very quick, and someone was quick to check in with us if they saw us looking at our phones, and quick to take empty plates away. A 12% gratuity is automatically included in the bill as well, even with a smaller dining group, in case this is information that you may appreciate! read more

Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon (around 1:30pm or so) and it wasn't too busy! On the weekend, you can pick to order from the lunch menu (between 11-3pm) or order from the dinner menu. We did the lunch menu at ~$29.99 per person before tax+tip and honestly, it was a good deal! There are more limited menu options, but it's really easy to view the menu online first before you decide if it's worth it for you. For us, we got all 3 beef options which were all good! My favourite was the sweet soy brisket. The marinated meats weren't completely drenched or drowning in marinade/sauce, so that made it nice since our grill actually didn't need to be changed out the entire 1hour we were there and cooking/eating. We also ordered one (of 3) of the sushi items, and a good amount of appetizers and sides. The Sunday we went, the 2 dessert options were coffee jelly (YUMMY) and soft serve(?) with flavours of vanilla, taro, or swirl of the 2. You really can't go wrong with either dessert! Service was really good too. They came by to clear out the empty plates very regularly and we were able to flag down people with tablets to put in additional orders.
