During our stay in Toronto we were luck to have Ajisen Ramen and Bar just a block south from where we were staying. We came in around 7:15PM and had no issue getting a table. After looking over the menu I was very excited because they had so many options of ramen. Most places I have been to have maybe 10 different options where Ajisen had about 20! I normally go with a Pork based ramen but saw a lot of different steak options which I rarely see so that what I had to go with. I ended up picking the Spicy Beef Ramen which same with at Spicy Mala Tonkotsu Broth. Once ordered our ramen came out pretty quickly. Plenty of finely sliced tender beef with a very savory broth. My only issue with the broth is that it wasn't all that spicy which was kind of a bummer but again it was very flavorful. I also got to try the Tom Yum Steak Ramen which comes with AAA Striploin that comes out on a sizzling plate. I will say the Striploin was not as tender as expected but it made up for that in flavor. I too liked that ramen that came with Fried Chicken came with the Fried Chicken on the side. This seems to be a thing here in Canada which is great because no one likes soggy Fried Chicken. Of your looking for a great assortment of ramen Ajisen is the place to go.
Came here with a party of 8 and they were able to accommodate our party in 10 minutes on a Friday evening which I really appreciated. I got the pork ramen with black garlic broth and added bamboo shoots. I honestly felt the ramen was just okay! I had much better ramen at other restaurants where the broth was richer, more hearty, and just had more depth. My friends got a variety of their other ramens - some vegan and vegetarian, some with the ebi, some with steak and some enjoyed their ramens! I am grateful they were able to accommodate such a large party without reservation and our server was pretty nice and efficient. Another thing is that they brought 6 of our ramen bowls out first and we were waiting around for the last 2, would be nice if they prepared all the ramen and brought them out at the same time.
After a long day of exploring the city we were looking for somewhere delicious and close to where we were staying, I am very happy we stumbled upon Ajisen Ramen Bar the food was very tasty! We all got different Ramen and tried each others and each was uniquely delicious. They each had a good amount of flavor and the noodles were those yummy spongy noodles. Our server was super nice and when one of us (not me) spilled he was super quick to help us clean up.
Delicious ramen, a go to spot in the city. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the broth is so flavourful. In the photos added, I've tried the Tom yum ramen which was amazing. Perfectly hot and sour. I've also tried the vegetarian ramens which were just as good. They have plenty of options including appetizers. The service is always quick and the ambiance is standard. It's the perfect spot to get your ramen fix!
Came with a group of friends and we all loved our food and portion size. It's been several years since I've had Ajisen Ramen at some of their other locations. I got the Tom Yum Ramen with steak combo and it was delicious. The broth was a good blend of spicy and tangy, and the steak pieces were served on a hot plate on the side. Prices are good, lots of options to change the broth to different flavours.
I came with 4 other colleagues right before noon time on a Thursday. We beat the lunch rush. Later on the restaurant was filled but not tight. I ordered the spicy beef ramen and asked for extra spicy. Food came pretty quick. There was a fresh spicy red pepper in the bowl, I was pleasantly surprised. My colleagues didn't want their spicy red peppers so I got 3 more. Wow, was that spicy. The soup was very flavourful and temperature hot unlike the other ramen places which usually give warm soup only. Maybe some people will find it too salty, it's good for me as I like salt. Had to ask for extra napkins as my nose was just running due to the hot and spicy food. It really hit the spot on a colder day. My first time at this location and it's pretty clean. Will definitely go back again as it's hard to find a place that have spicy and savoury instead of spicy and sweet.
Really good service, really good ramen! I came without a reservation and they found me a seat within 5 minutes during a very busy time. Servers were very attentive, and food came out fast. I started with the croquettes which were pretty typical to other japanese restaurants and nothing special. The ramen was really very good, served hot, flavorful and a good size. I ordered the spicy chicken and it was just the right spice for me, great on that cold night. Would definitely recommend.
Ajisen had a grand opening at their Carlton and Church (Toronto) location on 2022-05-20. If you buy a ramen bowl, you get a free cocktail or non-alcoholic drink and a $20 credit voucher. Five of us went there and had the following free drinks: Sakura Blossom ($12) x 3 Kyoto Blue ($12) Ginger Hi-Ball ($12) We paid for the following: 12. Ajisen Ramen ($13.50) 9. Tom Yum Steak Ramen ($17) 5. Black Garlic Filet Mignon Ramen ($17) x 3 Lychee Juice ($4) The ramen is only average. The drinks were good. Service was good. There was no free WiFi. Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Fill Factor: Satisfied I haven't been to an Ajisen in ages and I remember that this location used to be another ramen restaurant which I really liked. I happened to be looking for some hot food in the area so figured I might as well give it a shot and see if anything has changed. I ordered the pork ramen and my partner in crime ordered the black garlic filet mignon ramen. My partner is fairly particular when it comes to ramen so when she says she really enjoyed the food it is probably a good sign that the food is pretty decent. According to her the meat was tender and the broth was flavourful. My ramen was good as well as the broth was flavourful as well and not too salty. The noodles were the thin type which I prefer and though the pork slices were not bad I definitely prefer the thicker chashu over this. My favourite part of the ramen had to be the eggs which were perfect with their nice creamy yolk. Service was good as the staff were friendly and the food took almost no time to get to the table. There is a fair amount of seating in the restaurant and the tables are spaced out so it didn't feel cramped or anything either so that was a plus. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Ajisen and the food is still as good as I remember when i first tried it at another location years ago. If you're looking for a ramen fix or some hot food in the cold weather Ajisen is a great choice.

Absolutely incredible. I am stuffed full as I write this and am already thinking of when to next return. Got the shrimp ramen and replaced the usual broth it comes with with the black garlic vegetarian broth. It's amazing. The first vegetarian broth where I truly wonder if they made a mistake with my order. Rich, smokey, fatty, and delicious. Shrimp and takoyaki were also perfect. Service was friendly. I even really like the spoons. 5/5
Average food. WORST service. Ajisen at Church and Carlton is my go to Ramen spot in Toronto. I visit here regularly once or twice a month. Generally the food and service is pretty good. My regular order is the Karaage Chicken Ramen. This evening I ordered the same and the fried chicken was dripping with oil. On raising the issue with my server (short Asian looking guy) said that that is how the Japanese style is and he cannot do anything about it. Being a regular I know that this is not the quality of fried chicken they serve and hence I asked him if he can redo it or give me the regular grilled chicken. He again refused to do anything on which I asked if he can call the manager and he said he was the manager ( I highly doubt if he is even qualified to be a server). Then he got another lady to check it who was an Asian looking women ( referring them on their looks as they refused to share their names) She got another plate of fried chicken and asked me to check it and said without eating it how do you know if it was oily.. any one can see the oil dripping and on the bottom of the plate. Both of them refused to give me their names after asking them a few times and immediately left in middle of our conversation and never returned. They were extremely rude and unapologetic and unprofessional about the entire situation when I asked for their names. During our entire meal none of them came to ask if we needed anything else or water. There was a couple of flies flying around and felt really unhygienic. It was as if they do not care of the customer experience and are really arrogant about it. You lost a customer! I'm sure you don't care but if you keep this up good luck with your restaurant!
I ordered a quick dinner here. I decided to go for the ramen with black garlic soup base and pork katsu. The service was friendly. The restaurant was dark. They have an open kitchen concept where you can see them cook your ramen. Food was delicious, same quality in another location I have been to. I definitely will come back. read more

Ordered the Ajisen Ramen ($15 pretax). Overall, a cozy not too busy place to have a meal. Food is not amazing but is flavourful enough and there are lots of options to choose from. Pros: - Room for customization. Was able to get extra green onions/bean sprouts free of charge and switch the soup to a variety of different choices. - Broth was tasty while not being overly salty. - Atmosphere/service were pleasant. Cons: - Egg and chashu were mediocre (chashu was also on the smaller side). - I felt there could have been more broth especially as the bowl was not that big. read more

Overall good food and good service. There wasn't anything amazing about this place. I had the Black Garlic ramen with fillet mignon bits and shared the takoyaki and pan-fried gyoza with 3 friends. The broth for my Black Garlic was good but I personally thought it was missing a bit of depth. The meat bits though were delicious and juicy, plus they don't cheap out on the amount of meat they give you. I don't think I would come back here again as there are a lot of other ramen spots around downtown. read more

I had Ajisen Spicy Ramen, it was really great. For the first time since I came here, I can finish one dish of food, lol. It's a little bit spicy if you can't eat too much spicy, you should note to the restaurant. Staffs here are nice and friendly. read more
