    Tom Yum Lamb Ramen
    Madison H.

Such a disappointing exp at this Ajisen location. We came here on a Tue night at 10:30 pm and it was still pretty busy, so had to wait about 5 mins for a table. Got the following items 1) Steak Tappanyaki 2/5: dry, bland, tasteless. Complete waste of a $27.99 piece of steak. 2) Tom Yum Lamb Ramen 2.5/5: tom yum broth was way too sour and salty. Lamb, noodles and egg were OK. In terms of service, I had to remind the server to get water at the beginning. As well, while we were eating another server was wiping / spraying down the adjacent table which was so close to where we were eating. Won't be coming back to this Ajisen location, would rather go to Warden / Steeles.

Ajisen ramen is that perfect spot to go to when you're craving some good food! I love this location, can always get a seat and the staff is so kind. The food is always delicious and never misses. My favourite ramen to always order is the Spicy Chicken Ramen. 10/10 recommend!

There is nothing much negative to say about the place. There is a good variety of ramen dishes, rice curry dishes, and appetizers available to choose from. I was not able to confirm if they have dessert available. I did not see it in the front or back of the menu. The ramen and katsu curry dishes came out looking really appetizing, and the presentation was great. They could improve their service timings to time when the orders of the group come out together or at least not timed too far apart. We were a group of 4 people, each having a separate order. The orders we had were the Ajisen Spicy, Ajisen Gyudon, Pork Katsu Curry, and Beef Fried Rice. The first 3 orders came one after the other, but the Beef Fried Rice came out much, much later. It does not look well to have a single diner left out without having a dish yet in front of them. Ajisen Ramen also has the Mini Curry Rice item available in their menu. This dish is priced well and allows one to sample their curries. I just wish that there were at least a few meat chunks included in the dish. As it is, it is just rice lathered with curry gravy.

Stopped in on the way back from downtown Toronto. It was busy at around 10pm! We ordered the the ajisen spicy, the shoyu sliced pork, and the soft shell crab. The ajisen spicy was flavorful and the pork was tender. The shoyu sliced pork had a rich creamy broth, and the pork was perfectly cooked. The soft shell crab was amazing! It tasted perfect with lemon and Mayo dip. I would definitely come back to ajisen, the ramen was very enjoyable.

I am a long time Ajisen customer, but I did not visit this location until recently. My experience here in a few visits so far had been consistent and pleasant. Ajisen serves comforting ramen at reasonable prices, and allows you change the broth base if you want. I have ordered my regular (pork ramen extra noodle) a few times now and each time has been exactly what I expect. I also got the takoyaki which is also pretty good. Overall, if you like Ajisen's style of ramen, don't hesitate to come here as the food is great and the decor/furniture is fresh and clean with a good amount of seating. Would give 4.5 stars if I could. It's not the best ramen as the quality doesn't blow be away, but it has a familiar taste that I always seem to keep going back for.

We went to Ajisen Ramen for takeout last Saturday night. I ordered a bowl of Spicy Beef and a bowl of regular chicken ramen. The taste was good, especially my spicy beef. And it is a little like Thai food Lasha, like with some coconut milk in it. I'm not exactly know what's in it, but good to try. The soup, noodles and meat were separated, so we can pour how much ever that we like. I preferred to pour all soup in, but my friend like to pour little by little. Lol This location is open over the midnight, so we got plenty of time to pickup. But just too many ppl there still at late night. But good to have a place that still open until late.

Ordered the Spicy miso pork ramen from here for delivery (ikr who the heck orders ramen for delivery??) And it was actually really good but it got cold by the time it got to me. I also got the chicken karaage and was really good as well! The pork portions were generous and the pork was so tender even after being driven around for 1 hr by the delivery person since it was so far from me. Worth the try though because I will definitely go and try Ajisen in person when I get a chance

Tom Yum Steak Ramen, Ajisen Ramen, and Edamame
    Deanne M.

We decided to come here as we wanted ramen but our usual spots were already closed/almost closing for the day. This location is open til 2am which is convenient. We ordered Edamame as an appetizer. For ramen we ordered the Tom Yum Steak Ramen and the Ajisen Ramen. Edamame was fresh and the salt came on the side. The Tom Yum Steak Ramen came with a sizzling side of steak to add to the soup. I had the Ajisen ramen and wish the broth had a richer flavour. Also wish it came with a bit more pork. Overall the food was ok and the prices were about the same as other ramen spots.

Pickup area. Ding if you need to.

A friend from high school tipped me off on this Ajisen Ramen location's soft opening. We both have a huge fondness for pho and ramen, so we were meant to be friends. Do you know how deadly this Ajisen Ramen location is? There are two Ajisen locations (Warden and Steeles; and Kennedy and Highway 7) that are pretty close to me to begin with. This eatery at Midland and McNicoll is where my go-to Starbucks is. It is also a few doors down from OneZo Tapioca and several stores down from Pizza Hut. Commute time to get here: 5 minutes Verdict: Deadly! Tonight, I ordered through UberEats. There is a promotion happening where you get $5 off your order. Otherwise, I would have called in my order. I got the following items: - Japanese fried rice with chicken - California roll - Ramune melon drink For the entire month of November, when you order takeout or delivery, you get a free order of spring rolls. My order took longer than the original estimated time. The place needed fifteen more minutes. I wasn't bothered by it. I had placed the order in Stouffville. I needed more time myself to get here. It's in Midland Plaza, which gets more exciting with all the new businesses setting up shop. I parked and waited for a bit until my order was ready. There is outdoor seating. However, it was 10C outside and the sun was setting. No one was out there. I walked in. You can only go as far as the second set of doors. A woman greeted me and was genuinely happy to see another human being. I said that I had an UberEats order. She rattled off the order number, which was mine. I thanked her and said goodnight. I drove home, lugged all my goodies in on a rare day off, and unpacked my dinner. I have had the Japanese fried rice with cheese at another location. I decided to give this non-cheese version a go, but with grilled chicken. It was yummy. There are bits of crispy garlic, which made me happy. The chicken was grilled nicely, seasoned well, and was tender. I loved the saltiness of this dish. It's not overly salty, but enough to bring out the flavours of the green onions and egg. It's great in my books. I have never had a California roll from Ajisen. Tonight was the time to try it. The roll is huge. It tasted fresh. The only downside was the wasabi and soy that was pre-mixed. It's good for convenience. However, I'm not big on wasabi. I'd rather have soy on its own. It's a note for next time to ask the place to just give me soy or give me death! Otherwise, it was pretty good. The spring rolls were dainty. They were free, so I really don't have anything to complain about. If they were any larger, I wouldn't be writing this review. I'd be completely passed out with drool coming down one side of my mouth. There, I said it! They tasted great with the spicy-sweet dipping sauce. Without it, the spring rolls would have been pretty bland. I tend to order ramen as my main meal at Ajisen. However, do try the Japanese fried rice. It's addictive. I am thrilled that I can get my ramen and Japanese rice fixes so close to home. There goes my money... haha! (411)

We came to ajisen around midnight because it was one of the few options open at this hour. When we arrived there were only 3 tables being serviced. There was 2 younger girls working. We didn't get to order until another couple came in and sat beside us. We ended up waiting 25mins because their "printer didn't print our order" and the couple who came after us got their 3 appetizers and 2 ramens before us. I ordered the spicy Tom yum beef noodle and the pork spicy ramen. I asked for soft noodle on the Tom yum (aka cook noodles longer) but they swapped my request with the pork one. When I asked for another bowl so we could swap the noodles to the correct order, she said they don't give customers big bowls and only small ones. I wasn't impressed by the service at all. The food was good for the price and for the availability but I probably wouldn't come here if there were other options open.

Great food, fast service, and a nice fast-casual atmosphere. I had the original with black garlic broth which was delicious. We also had katsu which was perfect. Beware if you order the spicy it is very very spicy.

Ajisen ramen is a decent spot to get your ramen fix and satisfy your ramen cravings. Menu is very easy to look through and order, got the shoyu base chicken ramen which was really good and flavourful. Really enjoyed the broth for the soup and thought the overall taste of the ramen was great. Price is reasonable and comparable to other ramen spots, would come back again!

Good Location | Decent Price | Does the job I was really excited to try ramen after many years of being a dedicated pho lover. Ajisen is a common and easily accessible. The location is Covid compliant, asked for our ID and proof of vaccinations. They also have plastic barriers up between each table setting so that was nice to see. The ramen is reasonably priced but they were sold out of many bowls and broths on a Wednesday evening which I thought was odd. They also struggle to serve us complimentary green tea. We had to ask multiple times and half way through the meal when they finally brought us cups they were half full at best. When I asked for a refill they brought an electric kettle meant to heat water... but it was 1/4 full of what I assumed was green tea? It was horribly burnt and I was so turned off by the sight. In mg opinion the gyoza were over priced. 6 for $6.99 but I swear they were the same dumplings from Costco they are $11.99 for a huge bag. Margins I guess. Lastly, can someone advise why you only get half a boiled egg with your ramen? Come on, eggs are not that expensive but I'm no one to judge. A whole egg would have been appreciated.

Its menu already shows its uniqueness: its signature ramen is shio ramen, which simply means salt ramen. Unlike other ramen restaurants that often promote their strong and heavy-flavoured pork broth, Santouka just says "salty broth." I think it really reflects Japanese culture and spirit. The chef's craftsmanship shows that using simple ingredients is enough to make flavorful food. I ordered the Shio Ramen and an Aji-tama (medium-boiled egg). It still had a very strong savoury flavour and wasn't too salty at all. To be honest, it tasted like pork broth to me. Whatever it was, it made me feel comfortable while having the ramen and after the meal. Meals at other ramen restaurants are usually too salty. Sorry, I am playing with words here, because it is interesting that the "salty broth" isn't too salty, while other broths are usually saltier. The branch in Scarborough is spacious and very suitable for dining with family, friends, or even business associates. The plaza it is in is a very competitive area for noodle cuisine. You can add Hokkaido Ramen Santouka to your radar the next time you go there.

Thank goodness my mom and aunt were able to snatch a table while I went to look for parking. My mom and I upgraded our bowls to the value set for an extra $5, which honestly felt super worth it since it came with a seaweed salad, miso soup, plus a choice of gyoza or takoyaki. We ended up getting one of each to share. My mom ordered the MeatLovers bowl, I got the Roast Beef abura soba, and my auntie went for the Niku Miso. The portions were pretty filling and the noodles had that chewy texture that makes every bite so satisfying. The sauce was not overly salty, which mixed well with the noodles, and it was given at the PERFECT amount without having the noodles overly soggy. They also had extra fried onions and chili oil on the table if you wanted to add more flavour and texture, which I appreciated. The roast beef was sliced super thin and paired really well with the rich sauce underneath the noodles. One small detail I also loved was how the extra cutlery and napkins were stored neatly inside a pull-out drawer at the table, which was very convenient and helped keep the table less cluttered. They even had baskets underneath the table for jackets and bags, which was honestly such a smart touch considering how tight and busy the space gets. By the time we finished eating, there was a huge crowd of people waiting outside for seats. Holy cow this place is popular. Overall, it was a fun and different dining experience compared to regular ramen spots, and I can definitely see why people have been hyping this place up.

We walked into a modern, casual space with a lively ramen shop atmosphere, where the open kitchen lets you watch fresh noodles being prepared in front of you. The setup is straightforward and efficient, with a menu that keeps the focus on different variations of aburasoba and a few appetizers to round things out. The energy in the room stays busy but comfortable, fitting the fast-paced style of the food. The aburasoba is the main reason to visit, and the dish packs a surprising amount of flavor without relying on a traditional broth. We tried the roast beef version, which stood out with tender slices of meat that added an extra layer of richness to the bowl. The noodles themselves have a nice chewy texture, and mixing everything together, the sauce, the toppings, and the onsen egg, created a rich and balanced bite that felt complete. The egg helped make the noodles even creamier, tying the dish together in a way that felt intentional. The menu also offers several other variations, giving you room to explore different combinations on future visits. Beyond the noodles, the appetizers are worth adding to the meal. We ordered the karaage and takoyaki, both of which came out crisp and well seasoned, and the soft shell crab added a lighter, crunchier option alongside the heavier noodle dish. The small plates are a good way to build out the table without overcomplicating the order. The ordering process is straightforward and the restaurant moves quickly even when it gets busy. The staff keeps the flow efficient, and the food comes out without much delay, which fits the casual, no-fuss style of the place. Watching the fresh noodles being prepared adds a layer of engagement to the visit, making the meal feel more connected to the kitchen. Kajiken is a great place to try something different from the usual ramen. The aburasoba has a unique texture and flavor profile that stands out on its own, offering a satisfying meal that feels both light and deeply savory. It is the kind of spot that rewards a visit when you want to step outside the standard bowl and experience a different side of Japanese noodle culture.

I'm a tad surprised that this Kinton Ramen got not-so-stellar reviews as of late. In contrast, I had a fabulous experience. My worst experience at any Kinton has been its Richmond Hill location. Staff got my order wrong, fished out bamboo shoot that I clearly stated that I didn't want, and did not care if I may or may not have a food allergy by giving me the same bowl of ramen. I had come to CF Markville Mall to pick up an order at Swarovski. I used mall entrance 1 to get there. I passed by this Kinton Ramen on my way over. I was ready for an early dinner. It was probably 4 pm on a Monday. I drove over here from my workplace in Mississauga. I thought that it would be great to give this eatery a try. The only downside is that you don't have mall access to this eatery. If you're in the mall, you have to to exit it through entrance 1 and then use the separate Kinton Ramen entrance. It's a bit inconvenient. I'd probably be more annoyed if I had a ton of shopping bags full of goods and winds were at 80 km/h for me to exit the mall and get into this eatery. Luckily, it was a nice day and I had a small bag. I entered the eatery and was greeted immediately by a female staffer. I asked for a table and got one with a view of Churchill's Cigar and Gift. It was also fun to people-watch as I ate. I looked at the menu. The burnt shoyu ramen looked good. I lucked out, as this ramen was a part of a Kinton combo. Yes! I got these items as part of my combo: - Sparkling yuzu lemonade - Pork gyoza (4) - Burnt shoyu with thick ramen and corn I got a cup with cold water. It was refreshing and much needed. It was refilled regularly. I am a fan of sparkling drinks. I love yuzu. Put them in a lemonade and I am happy. The sparkling yuzu lemonade was excellent. Yuzu has a more subtle lemony flavour that is so refreshing. It felt fancy having fizzy lemonade. I loved this drink so much. The pork gyoza came out next. I got four of them. They were deep-fried. The pork filling was yummy. I loved my bowl of burnt shoyu ramen. The thick ramen noodles were chewy and perfect. The chashu was delicious and flavourful. I loved the dry seaweed, corn, jammy egg, scallions, bean sprouts, and garlic chips. There was a mild burnt flavour to the pork broth that was nice. I couldn't fit dessert in. I was stuffed. I paid my bill at the table with a credit card. I tapped the machine with my card and was done. I used the washroom before I left. It was fancy, from the sink, to complimentary mouthwash. As I was leaving this eatery, I saw a pickup window for takeout orders. It was cool. I like this Kinton a lot. Staff were friendly and competent. The food and drink were excellent. I'll be back. Initially looked busy and thought there may be a wait, but the line was actually for the dessert place that shares the same entrance. I usually switch up my order between the Clam Ramens (shio and shoyu). Can definitely say that these are always made consistent (at least on every visit I've had), so there's no surprise. My friend ordered the Avocado Vegetarian Ramen as part of a set. We were both intrigued by the taste of the broth. It was creamy, but not super thick, and had a fresh, vegetal taste. One miss this time was that my friend ordered a drink, but unfortunately it did not come out at all while we ate. We mentioned it when asking for our bill and asked that it just be cancelled, which the server was apologetic about. Interior is kept clean, which some table seating along both walls and also a long high-top bar (communal) in the middle. There's isn't any parking designated to the restaurant, but there's options for paid street parking a short walk away.

Konjiki is good, far from great, but very solid. The broth has the right consistency with a satisfying richness, falling just a touch short of the deep, creamy intensity I personally look for. The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining just the right amount of bite. Nothing ruins a bowl of ramen faster than overcooked noodles. The soft-boiled egg was equally well executed, with a perfectly jammy center, and the chashu had excellent flavor and texture. My biggest criticism isn't what's missing....it's what's added. Like many ramen shops outside Japan, Konjiki includes pickled ginger, pickled takana, and braised bamboo shoots. For me, none of them improve the bowl. In fact, I think they distract from what should be the star of the show: the broth. In hindsight, I could have easily asked for them to be left out, but I've never really understood why they're included in the first place. Even so, this is a very respectable bowl of tonkotsu ramen and one I'd happily order again.

Cozy atmosphere; every table/booth gets a bit of privacy. Since there is no 'Korean button', staff had to checked on us from time to time (may be hard to flag down a staff sometimes) We ordered some appetizers to share: Takowasa w/ side of wasabi beans, Oyster Bomb sushi rolls, and Crispy Unagi Pancake. All very delicious, highly recommend. My partner and I also share a Beef Nabe aka hot pot in a clear broth, with a side dipping sauce. I would order this again and maybe try the Wagyu version next time! At the end of our meal, staff offered free ice cream for the table, with a choice of Taro and Black Sesame ice cream. Overall, an enjoyable meal :)

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Aka-Oni…read more My wife and I visited with our 2-year-old daughter and requested a booster seat so she could sit safely at the table. We were told that a booster seat was available, but staff refused to provide it because it was being held for another reservation that was expected to arrive later. As parents of a young child, we found this unacceptable. A family already seated in the restaurant should not be denied a basic child-safety accommodation in favor of a future reservation. Rather than trying to find a solution, staff made us feel unwelcome and dismissed our concerns. This was not about special treatment. It was about providing a safe seating option for a toddler while we were dining. Customer service and common sense were both lacking during this visit. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant to families with young children. I hope management reviews its policies and provides better training on how to handle situations involving child safety and family customers.
