Very dirty restaurant. Food was so so. The food bar was not replenished in a timely fashion and some of the food was cold. Won't be back.

I was again disappointed. We had the buffet. No one came over until we were ready to go. We never got clean plates so we could go.back to.the buffet. We finally got drink refills as we were getting ready to leave. The food was good though, but it's the 2nd time we had issues with the service. read more

Buffet,salad bar and deserts were delicious. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Good family atmosphere for dining.

The buffet was amazing! The food was delicious and super tasty, loved my cheer wine pop also, the price for two adults for lunch buffet at 3pm was $24 even. Waitress wasn't around much but she kept my glass filled with drink. The place was very nice and quit setting with soft modern music which was great! I enjoyed every item off the bar I got my favorite was the chicken tenders so juicy and fresh. I will definitely return! Me and my mother enjoyed the meal. read more

Walked in and took a look at the buffet and walked right back out. Dirty and food did not look appetizing.

These people have not heard of or care much about Covid other than the help wearing masks, social distancing at Buffett and separate entrance/exits The open buffet appeared to be in violation of FDA recommendation for multi- use utensils for dishes. I was offered a salad plate but when went to bar and saw all the serving utensils lying across the food i couldn't do it. The facility itself was tired and worn. Broken benches and old carpet. Tis is one of the best restaurants in Morganton! Plenty of choices to choose from! There was a large selection of vegetables and hot dishes, fish, chicken, ground beef, a full salad and desert bar! It was just okay. My boyfriend and I both got the buffet. Small buffet, not a huge variety at all. Salad was good. No one can mess up a salad buffet though. Fried chicken, cooked baby carrots, and cheesy potatoes were nice and flavorful. BBQ pork was alright, a little too much sauce for my liking. Mac and cheese wasn't good at all. Tasted very watery and definitely not real cheese. The decor is way out dated. Bathrooms are small! The toilets in the individual stalls are very close to the wall on both sides. It makes it very difficult to do your business! Service is great. Great southern hospitality. read more

The food was pretty good. However the manager is extremely rude to her fellow employees. If you are considering applying for a job here. I don't recommend it. I ate here on June 23 21 so if the owner is seeing this. You may want to have a talk with the manager who was working. Because I feel bad for the other employees. read more

Here Is the deal we hiked for the last two days.. eating trail food and this is the first restaurant we came to.. Our group of 10 put a serious dent in the buffet.. This place calls itself a steakhouse, what a disgrace. You can tell they use the absolute lowest quality meats. Spend the extra money and go to Longhorn if you want a good steak. Want the bar? Go to Abeles or anywhere but here. Food is horrible service is meh, and I felt like I needed a shower after just stepping foot inside. Everything is filthy and outdated. I rate them high because this is my fav steak house, ever. I always want to eat here when I come to town. The buffet isn't the highlight of this place, and I can agree with some reviews on here on that end, but the steak, is simple yet oh so f'n delicious. I want to adopt these people. I get usually the prime rib, or ny strip, with baked potato, a salad from the salad bar, and if I'm still hungry, I'll sample the hot bar. I try to end with fruit cobbler and ice cream. We eat here 30 to 40 times a year but now will have to give another buffet style restaurant our business. Had gotten a salad and asked the waitress for some pepperoni to go on my salad. Was told by our waitress that she could not get any pepperoni. Well, having eaten at both AJ's (here and Lenoir), I knew the waitress could as the Lenoir AJ's does anytime I ask for them. Wrong; so I asked for the manager (as it was the principle, not the absolute necessity of having pepperonis). Well, even the lady manager said "if we get Abe's pepperonis, he will get us". Abe is one of the owners. After paying $26 for 2 Senior buffets (with both of us being seniors, we usually eat about half that much). I think they could have spared 5 or 6 pepperonis. Well Mr Abe, lady waitress and lady manager; the loss of our business has and will continue to be by far greater than the measly few pepperonis. read more

AJ's used to be a great place to eat. Last Saturday I was hungry and decided to got there since I haven't been in a while. I got the buffet. I had some mashed potatoes and gravy which tasted like powder potatoes and the gravy was bland and greasy. The fried chicken was ok. The fried pork chops were so hard I would barely eat them. The salad bar is basic and all the great deserts they used to have are no more than a few different cookies, ice cream and a couple of puddings and pie. Drinks are not included in the buffet cost. Honestly nasty the bakery had slugs in it a one point. The cooks don't always wash there hand I watched one of them leave the bathroom and not go back to kitchen to wash he went right back to cooking. And dear god if I didn't know what weed smelt l sure knew going into the females bathroom. Sounds like they need to drug test not just the waiting safe but management as well. read more

Crab salad delicious, their fried chicken the best in the area! Thursday night is rib night yum! Their boiled cabbage perfecto! Their food is very good and the waitresses are kind and cautious. We eat there just about every week! read more

My two cousins and I visited AJ's in Morganton, NC for dinner on 04/01/14. We all ordered the buffet. The food was awful! Everything on the bars was cold. The only thing good there was the vanilla ice cream. read more

The AJs in Lenoir was bad on 3/11/14 . We got our order to go and had to beg for salad containers, and they are a lot smaller than they used to be. We also had to ask three times for our dozen rolls we paid for. The manager was watching everything and could have cared less. read more

I was in there yesterday 12/21/11 around lunch time.the food on the buffet looked and tasted really good but on the dessert bar,not one thing! The food there is Nasty!! It taste old and not fresh at all. I think they reheat there food from the day before because it tastes really dried out. Not only does the food taste bad, but the Manager (Ab) is so rude to the waitresses right in front of the customers. He was so loud and nasty to one of the waitresses last night that we got up and left before finishing our food. We will never go back to Aj's ever again. The only reason I am giving it a 1 star is because our waitress (Brandy) was a very sweet lady and she was an Awsome waitress for us. She deserves to be treated better than the way (Ab) treated her last night. We felt sorry for her because of how he was treating her in front of all the customers in there.
