Ron and Andrew did a great job of protecting the house, very clean and courteous. What I…read moreappreciated most was their honesty - my chimney did not need to be cleaned so they did the inspection instead. It's so easy to be taken advantage of when you don't know anything about what is being serviced. So refreshing to have someone do the right thing. I will definitely be calling Ron next year for a cleaning. Highly recommend!

I have been looking for a neat, professional experienced chimney cleaner for 3 years. This is the…read more3rd company I've hired in the last 3 years, in search of a permanent company I can trust. I called Ron, he picked up the phone, and explained that he is personally on every job. I liked that. He quoted the price on the phone for the 2 woodstoves. When he arrived, he put down drop cloths from the door all the way to the stoves and started his work. There are 3 things you want to look for when finding a contractor to clean your chimney: 1. They use a rotary "weed wack" technology to fully clean the chimney. Many companies simply use a sweep that just feathers the creosote, but does not dig in and remove it. Make sure to ask this question. The technology uses a tip with vinyl strings like a weed Wacker, with 3 foot rods that get added as the tip is pushed up, and attaches to a drill that spins the tip to clean every inch of the pipe on the way up. 2. Does not let ash and creosote drop out of the piping system so it never has a chance to create dust and ugly soot. The prior contractors allowed the creosote to drop behind the stove, and then scooped it up and vacuumed it. But this allowed soot to travel in the house and a very thin film on my furniture. I can tell you that Ron prevents any soot by vacuuming all the creosote before it drops out of the piping by keeping a strong vac in the pipe before starting the sweep. 3. Previous sweepers had portable vacuum cleaners which they were proud of as powerful. Compared to the monster vacuum cleaner Ron has, those are all in junior league. Ron has a huge vac built into his trailer which I believe is 35 hp. It is the biggest vac in RI for chimney sweeping. The vac runs in gasoline, and he has 100 ft hose. I was very impressed by this vac system and how powerful it is. And yes it is loud, but thankfully outside! See the attached photo of his set up. Ron cares, does not rush, and open to questions and special requests from the homeowner. Check if your chimney sweeper uses the 3 methods above. If not, call Ron!!

Because we…read morewere not satisfied and were charged over $500 for work not done, my husband and I gave this business a bad google review. (After requesting a refund that was refused). Unfortunately, when you own a business you get good and sometimes bad reviews. The owner was so mad at the review, and that my husband voiced his frustration on his personal social media, she contacted his employer through facebook. She harassed his employer continuously to let her know her feelings about my husband's character and that she wouldn't support her business because of his involvement. She was literally trying to get him fired for bad reviews. I owned a business for 10 years. I got a couple bad reviews along the way about employees work and had requests for refunds. I did so willingly because the customer satisfaction outweighed my ego. I would NEVER call a clients employer after they left a bad review to voice my personal opinion of them. It's absolutely insane that the owner took this route instead of just refunding the money. The owner did offer to have someone else come to do the work but our trust in the company had been diminished. We wanted a second opinion and got one. That's also the prerogative of the customer.

I gave the tech a knee brace I had that was custom made for me when I tore my ACL/MCL and cost over $4,000 because I felt so bad for him. Chimney sweep still charged my card that I had given them to book the appointment for no services rendered. They offered to come back and "re-do" work that was never done and the owner admitted as much in writing, but at this point the way they spoke to me on the phone, wanting to bring back the injured tech basically to shame him in front of a customer and even told me if there were no brush marks in the chimney he is fired, I don't want anything to do with your company. They told me my fireplace needed a new liner amongst other things and was not usable so why would you charge me to clean it? They also charged me for an oil flue cleaning and I didn't notice this till a few days later but there is a giant tag on it that says it was cleaned on 1/6/26 by the woman we bought the house from (just closed on it weeks ago). I have confirmed the cleaning with the company that services the oil burner and they are sending me the paperwork confirming this. They quoted me a price of almost $10,000 for repairs verbally but never sent the estimate. I also had 2 chimney companies come in for repair estimates and they both confirmed (in writing) no cleaning was done here and I had company that day and they can confirm no vacuum was ever run and no cleaning ever happened. I was told my dryer vent would be cleaned for free on the phone and they wanted over $100 to clean it the day of. With all this they refuse to refund the money they charged me. This is unethical business at its finest. The pic of the cleaning door shows its rusted shut and was never opened.
