Erin (with an E) stopped by to let me know she'd be right with me as she was taking drinks to another table. Her energy was amazingly welcoming and pleasant. She really takes care of her customers (I paid attention even when she wasn't at my table). I started with the queso and chips and it came out piping hot and flavorful. I think the chips are house made but not sure. I'll ask and come back with an update. I had the buffalo chicken tacos as my main and they did not disappoint. The ratio of blue cheese crumbles to buffalo sauce was perfect and the chicken was tender and good. I now want to try all 3 (2 remaining) of the tacos so I will definite be back! Our party of six arrived at height of dinner rush and only waited 5 minutes. Our server Kerrie was fantastic and the food was incredible. She was prompt, courteous, and bery helpful with selections. Pizza ordered was the Fungi, What the Cluck, Spicy, and a special order pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms and they were all very good. With those on the menu, I couldn't resist and I wasn't disappointed. My side was a kale salad which offered some nice crunch and freshness to balance my meal. I love elote so I had to try their elote grits which was a fun spin on a Southern classic. The three stars are for three things: 1. only offering 12 inch pizzas for folks dining in but having 18 inch pizzas available for take away. 2. excessive wait times for E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G ... getting a drink (craft beers, sub par wine, tiny mixed drinks), ordering food, and getting the check. 3. charging "big city" prices for their food and drinks. I mean c'mon! I started with a decent sized ($6) side kale caesar salad (I didn't take a picture.)We also HAD to order two pizzas, because well... 12 " only for people dining here :/ This forces *each* person at the table to order their own $20 pizza therefore creating a minimum $30 per person bill ... might as well eat at The Copper Door!!! Most people order 2+ drinks ($20-35) and a $18-22 pizza so you're looking at 35-40+ per person. What we ordered: one "build your own" was $18 (sausage and pineapple) and a garden pizza add sausage( $21.50 ) for 12 INCH PIZZAS ... gtfoh !!!! The ingredients were sparse and the "add sausage" to the garden was barely evident and not worth the up charge. Atmosphere - crowded, nowhere to stand while waiting, loud, did I mention that there's nowhere to stand while you're waiting? Total bill, not including alcohol, was $49 add three drinks (two cocktails, and one glass of wine) for an additional $40. THIS meal was DEFINITELY NOT worth that !!iYou are basically spending $20 for flavored baked dough with the most minimal of toppings which is NOT a good value AT ALL - I do not recommend this place. However, respect to the owners for taking advantage of being a "whale in a pond" (no competition).! Regarding the wine list, it is a bit suspect because rather than listing the maker it lists variety and origin rather than WHO makes it, for example, pinot grigio, Treviso Italy. I love coming here. It is hit or miss if the have the food there that is on the menu. Every time we come something we want is not available. But overall, the service and food is good. The first couple of times I tried this place I wasn't really into it, but I've continued to try it because of friends and I'm so glad I did. I've found the winning items for me is their Buffalo Chicken sandwich, which is one of the best Buffalo Chicken sandwiches I've ever had, and they're my go-to food at restaurants, so when I say there one of the best I've ever had I'm completely serious. The 2nd thing that is a must get for me is the pull apart cheesy bread. As long as they don't burn it then it's phenomenal. 3rd is the Gouda Mac and cheese which is just creamy goodness, love getting it every time. read more

First visit to this brewery just north of the Georgia State line. This brewer is housed in a former car dealership. It has a lot of charm to it and is very comfortable. A lot of space inside. They have a lot of their own brews to choose from as well as a good yet limited wine list and full line of liquors. Tried a couple of their beers and really enjoyed the Deja Reve. They are only open a few days a week (Thurs-Sat) and only from 2 pm - 9 pm. They have a full food menu and although it looked great, I did not have any of their food this visit. read more

5 out of 5! Walk in the door and it's very welcoming. Fun, festive atmosphere. Lots of full tables with upbeat laughter and energy. Sat at the bar and had excellent service. Started with the Honeysuckle cocktail (yum) and moved on to beer. The bartenders offered us a taste of anything we desired which is such a nice way to select a beer and not get stuck with a full glass of something you don't like. Let's talk about the fact this place knows how to make a pizza!! Amazing crust, perfect in texture. Great selection of toppings that are not drowning in cheese. We also had the Mexican corn grits, buffalo cauliflower (unbelievably delicious) and the hatch chili queso. First of all, 100% of proceeds goes to Hurricane Helene relief- hooray! (Oct 3, 2024). And on top of that, the service and food are excellent. We started with the fried Brussel Sprouts salad appetizer with the tasty vinaigrette and bleu cheese crumbles ($12). Excellent flavor and texture of roasted/charred Brussels perfectly cooked! We requested more bleu cheese and it arrived quickly and was well appreciated. One of the dinner specials we ordered was chicken Parmesan with penne pasta- tasty and succulent with perfectly breaded chicken breast, marinara sauce and al dente penne pasta. Yes! Although there were only 3 of us dining, we wanted to share 2 wood fired pizzas to have leftovers for the next day. We had the Nocturnal with red sauce, meatballs, roasted red peppers, garlic confit and charred onions, picked red onion and added cremini mushrooms ($1.50 extra). The second pizza was with red sauce, sausage and charred red onion- Both were excellent with wood fired bubbled crust, fresh ingredients and crispy bottom crust. Wonderful local craft brewery with an impressive variety! We discovered Nocturnal just as they started offering curbside pickup in "Crowlers". In the past several weeks we've gone by three times. They're currently offering 24oz crowlers canned to order! My favorite is probably one of the most unique beers I've had... it's a Sour called Midnight Luau. (It's probably not for everyone.) The PC Porter is also wonderful. And, since I really like unusual beers, I'm going to recommend Soot Foot! Under normal circumstances this would be a nice place to grab a bite on their screened patio. read more

Didn't try the beer but the Habenero Heat cocktail I had was tasty though it could have used more of the Habenero. We wound up here for dinner after a day on Lake Chatuge and tried quite a few items between our group of six. Nocturnal apparently does a couple taco specials each night and on our visit also had lightly fried trout. The tacos are what the Mexican place near us calls "Authentic" on their menu with a soft tortilla stuffed with meat (pork or tofu this night) with just some diced onion and cilantro. Tried the pork version which was tender pulled pork but not as good as the Carnitas taco at the aforementioned Mexican place back home. The queso dip in a cast iron skillet was served with blue corn tortilla chips as was the hummus. The Brussel Sprout salad was a hit as we passed it around the table. The wings were flavorful, crispy and served with both blue cheese and another sauce for dipping. It wasn't exactly ranch I don't think but it was good. The trout special was cooked perfectly and had a remoulade on top that was good but probably better served on the side. It could have used a little straight out of the fryer salt as well. My main was the NOC burger which is two 4 oz. patties, american cheese, onions, pickles and NOC sauce which was not Big Mac kind of sauce like most other "special sauces" on burgers. All in all it was a VERY good burger. Service was friendly and the food came out from the kitchen in a timely way. I'd go back in a minute if in the area again. read more

There was a country music concert in the park and during our quest to find something to eat and drink we stumbled upon this place. The restaurant itself looks like it was an old gas station or an old mechanic shop and the vibe is a good one. The staff is super friendly and we saw the owner walking around talking to people and making sure everything was running smoothly as possible. The beers we had were unique and very tasty (we are not beer connoisseur's but you should give this place a try and make your own decision.) The food options were also unique and very tasty. We enjoyed a really good and unique version of fried green tomatoes and an order of loaded nachos. This is a really great place to eat a great place to drink and an overall great place to hang out. I e eaten here a few times now, and have really enjoyed it. The smash burger is great, as are the wings, the salads....everything. For some reason I never noticed their pizzas, but last week when I was there, saw one, and it looked delicious. So tonight I ordered one for takeout. I ordered the Spice World. When I got home, saw that it was pretty dark. It WS over-cooked for my taste by probably 4-5 minutes. I could live with that (we all have our personal preferences, and next time I could tell them to cook it a little less). However, the pizza was inedible. It was so salty I couldn't even eat it. I ate two pieces, and had to throw it away. It won't deter me from recommending this place overall, and I would try a traditional cheese pizza next time, but I really didn't enjoy the one I got. Very cool little place in the sleepy town of Hayesville. I went for the beer and found soooo much more! Had the fried Brussels for an app and they were delicious. Chips and queso was your normal fare, and the Bees Knees drink was on point. Had the brisket tacos and they were super good but only two tacos and no sides in a burger basket...for $12. Would have liked some black beans or slaw on the side. My wife is vegan, and they recreated the Teriyaki bowl just for her which was very cool. My friends and I make the trip here every time we visit Lake James and absolutely love it! Location: conveniently located pretty much in the center of 'downtown' Hayesville. They have some parking in the attached lot and more (free) parking nearby. Beer: I love their selection. I have had many of their beers and have never been disappointed. Food: they have a limited selection of foods, but all are delicious. Hint: save room for dessert because they are ALL amazing! Beertenders: all of them are super friendly! They are happy to offer suggestions if you ask. While the lines have not moved efficiently when we have visited, we are mostly there during their busiest times. We've been to Nocturnal quite a few times while on extended stays during the winter in Hayesville and the food always has been great. Very flavorful and always served hot. Great wait staff, too! The rice bowl (I think that's what it's called) has chicken, rice and teriyaki sauce. SO good! Friends we're with enjoy the craft beers. Tacos are great, too! Come to think of it, we've never had a bad meal there. Fun atmosphere! Also tried their new place, Laughing Waters, in the Hayesville Square. Outstanding sandwich today--turkey on a toasted everything bagel with provolone cheese and pesto sauce. Really good. And topped it off with a fabulous chocolate chip cookie. They even have gluten free bagels and blueberry muffins. Great for my husband who has celiac. Would highly recommend either of these places! read more

Love this spot. If you spend much time in the area, you might know that good restaurants can be hard to come by. It's getting better, but it's a work in progress. Really good beer - top two I would say in about a 50 mile radius. Great food. The wings are really good, burgers are really good, and if you're here at dinner the brussels sprout salad is excellent. I hear this place is usually better, but tonight everyone was being served charcoal crust pizza (see attached photo). I observed the cook in the open kitchen slide a pizza out, look at the burnt bottom, and slide it back in! As we left, we could smell ash in the air. Servers letting everyone know they're understaffed (I think they each had 3 tables; is that considered understaffed?); service a tad slow but nothing to make repeated excuses about.
