Authentic Indian flavor and spice. They don't take reservations so we had about a 15 minute wait upon arrival. Clean interiors and quick service. Very small portion of onion bhaji appetizer. Good size portions of all mains. Dal Makhni was very good. Chicken tikka and mutter paneer were ok. All in all, would come back if in the mood for Indian food. read more

I've eaten here before and decided to order the same thing I've had before because the first time it was really good and a lot of food. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and basmati rice. The rice was a huge portion, which would have been good if the tikka masala matched. It basically came with 6 small pieces of chicken and didn't even come in the sauce it usually does. I spent almost $40 on dinner when it wasn't even what I wanted. Usually I have enough for 2 meals because it's supposed to be a decent size, but for some reason ordering it they didn't try at all. read more

I have died and gone to Indian heaven This place is my absolute favorite. The food is super authentic. We live on the beach and LOVE Indian food so much that we used to drive all the way to the Grove at least once a week but this place beats every other Indian place in Miami by far, it's so delicious, I can't get enough of it!! I had a surprise night in Miami last month so I wandered away from my Hotel until I came upon this place. Good Indian food gets me RIGHT IN THE FEELS, and this place did that EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. I had a seat outside, and was lucky enough to meet the owners who were about to have their evening meals out there as well. I ordered a Mango Mojito and my go to - Veggie Korma. OMG everything was prepared and spiced perfectly. The owners were so cute and insisted on sharing some of their food with me. After a delicious portion (from their own table!) of Dal Tadka Chicken Malai kabob I HAD TO STOP EATING. Trust, it was NOT that I wanted to, but I literally was going to need a semi truck to pick me up if I didn't stop shoving this epic meal in my mouth. They then insisted that I take some of their own personal food to go so I had something to eat in the airports. DAH! How friggin amazing can you be??! If you are in Miami, and you are a kind, good and deserving human, come have a meal here. It's worth every minute and cent it takes to be taste this goodness. This establishment is a Miami gem. Coming from Chicago, which has a plethora of top notch Indian restaurants, Akash certainly competes with the best. They start you off with complementary chips that come with almost an Indian salsa/chutney that was delicious. We then ordered the veggie samosas that were great especially with the tamarind and cilantro sauces. Our main dish was the Khadai, which of course was accompanied with white basmati rice. Aside from the slightly rich, hearty warm tomato curry sauce bursting with flavor, my favorite part was how perfectly cooked the chicken was. The curry had all the flavor, without the typical overcooked chicken. This chicken was still juicy and tender while swimming in that addicting curry. Aside from the food, the overall experience was phenomenal. A very clean and welcoming establishment. The owner took time to make his rounds checking in on guests while also genuinely getting to know them, including us as well. Mind blown with my experience at Akash! I was told that the owners are actually related to the family of Bombay Darbar in the Grove and as soon as I heard that I knew the food was going to be just as amazing. Before we jump in on the food, let's talk decor. Honestly, the need a major improvement. It does not match the food. In order to compare it, think of an all white banquet hall. The decor does need a facelift so it can capture the essence of the food. Now let's talk business, soooooo much flavor in the food it's crazy! Kicked out with the meal with some veggies samosas and they were so good. They come with a teriyaki sauce on the side for some sweet and tangy and a green sauce that has a nice kick to it. Accompanied with a side of garlic naan and some raita which can be compared to the Tzatziki sauce but with other additives. Delicious! Need to try the lamb samosas next time for sure. I had to try the dal soup made with puréed yellow lentils, cumin, tomatoes and seasoned with mustard seeds. It was so creamy because of the coconut milk used. Goes great with a side of basmati rice to dump a spoonful in the rice. Delicious! Such a hearty soup. And la creme de la creme, Tandoor Prawns! Wow all I can say is that you have to try it for yourself. Absolutely amazing. It's like you ordered a cast iron with sizzling fajitas when you first get it. I loved the food here. The flavors are legit! But the restaurant is a little hard to find. First of all - it says indian restaurant on the board, there is no mention of Akash, secondly - the menu has it's name as Andaz. Not quite sure whats going on here. It was fairly empty given that we went on a monday afternoon. The service was satisfactory, nothing mentionable here. Their mango margarita was tasty! We tried their fish fry (must have! reminded me of home), chicken lollipops - another hit! For the entrees we had their chicken makhani and goat andaz(again andaz??!) curry. Both were really tasty, the goat was my favorite! Really tender and flavorful! The total damage was 110$ for 3 people. On top of that they charged us 18% gratuity for 3 people? Last week while visiting Miami Beach with friends, we had lunch in this restaurant. We had a great experience all around. The place was very clean, and the ambience was great. To know that this place is only about two weeks old is impressive. The decor was nice; very modern with some touches of the classic Indian kitsch that we all know and love. Spacious, night lighting, and we were greeted right away. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and a friend ordered the lamb korma. I am picky with my vindaloos and this was a good one; not the best but good regardless. The lamb korma, however, was fantastic. Creamy, nutty, and the meat very tender and flavorful. The food was hot, which is always important and came out in a timely manner. Service began to lack toward the end after two requests for more water went unanswered. In the waiter's defense the customer nearby was extremely needy and took most of his attention. It is a bit on the pricier side (see check) so be aware of that. Not entirely sure if it is worth the price, but I don't know the area well so this may be the norm. They also did not have a drink menu. We ordered the mule at the recommendation of the waiter, but probably would have passed had I known it was $12 beforehand. Location is also a bit odd. Very easy place to miss. I'm so glad we found this Indian Jewel! We love Indian food but we always have a hard time to find great quality... That place is amazing! They serve Organic Chicken Tandori, we also had shrimp Tandori and paneer Masala with veggies. OMG! Everything was sooooooo delicious! The restaurant is SUPER CLEAN, the staff was awesome and you can tell that the owner really cares about his business and clients. I have to update my review. The last few dishes I have eaten here have been anywhere from subpar to horrible. I received Butter chicken that was sugary sweet. I'm not clear on how a cook can ruin butter chicken as it is most classic and basic. The fish korma was bland and tasteless. My friend ordered the biryani and I tried it and we both agreed that it wasn't good. I won't be returning. I don't know why there was such a decline in the food taste and quality, but I would encourage rectification of the issue. read more

Located in a strip mall but the food is next level delicious. Let's talk ambiance. 2 super sized TV's ran brightly colored Bollywood style music videos at the far end of the restaurant. All the tables, the floor and furniture are contemporary white and gleaming. Had it not been for the wonderful aroma of the food I could have thought we were had entered a nail salon. We ordered garlic naan, mango curry with chicken and a dish of Chicken Biryani. The rice was light and delightful. The Biryani was savory and occasionally sweetened by the raisins. Of course,​ you have to head east for some good Indian eats but hold on - not too far east because we have some delicious​ Indian eats right at home in Miami. Dining at Akash today was an unexpected delight. My friend received a gift card to the restaurant and I tagged along, not expecting to expand my go-to Indian restaurant​ choices. We started with some complimentary chips and sauce; not the biggest fan of chips usually but I could not stop snacking because the accompanying sauce was delightfully minty and fresh. Following this, we decided on the naan -- almost reluctantly choosing Garlic Cilantro. Thank goodness we ordered it against initial judgment because it was delicious without being overwhelmingly garlicky. ​​ Our main dishes were the Chicken Tikka Masala and the lamb vindaloo. My friend raved about her Chicken Tikka while I savored every bite of food. My vindaloo dish is what ultimately won me over. It is not always common to find quality lamb but Akaash has served up some eats that should not be overlooked. For dessert, we had the Gulab​ & Honey; reminiscent​t of a donut soaked in a honey glaze, it was not my favorite. Akash has only been open for 6 months and as a patron, I do see where details could be ironed out. This includes service; with kind and attentive service, it still had a tendency to be on the slower side. The owners of the restaurant were very kind and I think this is something that could be ironed out with time. I also personally believe wait staff could be more helpful in guiding patrons with suggestions. With that, you have to take into account that the pricing is more​ than fair and is actually the most reasonable I've seen in the beach area. Overall, our dining experience was nice and relaxing. Because we got there on the earlier side, we were able to take advantage of their free parking. If I am in the area, I would be back just for the amazing quality of lamb they are serving up! It's difficult getting out in comfort these days for some of us. I met 2 friends for lunch here and it was just right. We chose to sit outside and the fan helped with Miami's heat. It took a while to order because none of us are nimble enough to use our phones to read menus. One friend, who has eaten here already and suggested the restaurant ordered 2 starters - vegetable samosas (2 to a serving) and onion bhaji. I'm not a fan of fried food, so I tasted neither. She had the tikka masala with prawns and enjoyed. My other friend has the palad (spinach) curry with lamb and also enjoyed. I had the chicken biryani. This place is an absolute must if you want top quality Indian food. We googled best Indian restaurant south Florida and we were not disappointed. We drove down from Fort Lauderdale and will do again. The place itself is very modern. White marble floors, Uber modern furniture with pops of color on the walls and terrific lighting to boot. The food was kick absolutely perfect. We had the chicken lollipop to start. Spot on. Main course was paneer tika as well as the chicken tika massala. Again perfect. The garlic naan was nice and crispy. Not too fluffy. The price of the meal was very reasonable. If I want to get ticky tack with experience my only complaint is the waiter did not know how to pour a kingfisher. Amazing presentation! Food was equally tasty. The Dal tadka was a touch on the salty side for me, but the palak bowl was essentially wiped clean with roti. I couldn't get enough of it! Also fabulous: garlic naan and kheema naan (enjoyed by my kids). And for dessert, just get one of everything because again: amazing presentation and equally amazing taste. Phenomenally done! Very disappointed with the service and quality of fulfillment of what I ordered. I ordered a side of raita for $8. When it arrived, it was a raita in a cup the size of the side of Guac from Chipotle (2 oz). I've ordered from plenty of Indian restaurants and have never seen such a small serving of raita for $8. When I called (immediately) to complain, they acknowledged the mistake but refused to help me by offering a refund or resending an extra raita to me, or anything a normal restaurant with delivery service would do to rectify. Instead they only said they would "offer me something complimentary next time" I order with them. That's like them coming to my place of business and signing a contract for my services, and when I don't deliver what was contracted I tell them, "oh, I'll rectify it when you sign another contract with me next year". WTF read more
