Great food truck serving fusion indian food. I finally got to try Akashic after so many trips in Olympia. We ordered the indian burger - vada pav (highly recommend & delicious), chicken rice bowl (tasty), chicken bombay roll (indian burrito with chicken - nice flavors and huge) along with their gun powder fries (amazing). While I liked all their dishes their chicken bombay roll had way too much rice but had good flavors. It was tasty just a little too much of rice imo. I reduced a star for 2 reasons - 1. This place isnt cheap 2. They change their food truck location which is okay but their online order via Uber Eats does not work. Atleast when I was trying for 2 days it said the food truck is not available while they actually were in operation. They would not answer their phone call and we had to locate their food truck to place our bulk order for a large group. Hence reduced the star. All in all I would order back from here but hope they figure out why Uber Eats or Postmates or delivery.com were unable to process any online order even when they were around changing locations in Olympia. Dont have the bandwidth to chase them on the streets of Olympia tbh. read more

The food is unlike anything over ever had before. The Akashic burger was the first thing I ever tried, and oh my it was life changing. Last time we went I tried the Anunnaki burger and it was.... You can taste the love in this food. Stopped by from Seattle today with my doggo and ordered a curry bowl with rockfish. They offered my dog a treat while we waited (and they had great dog treats too). I feel blessed that I had time to kill because it isn't a meal you want to eat in a hurry. You'll want to savor it. I wish I could leave a positive review but I really, really can't. We wanted to use this food truck as our wedding vendor (due to the amazing pictures and reviews) but when we came down to try it, it was extremely disappointing in all respects. For starters, the lady was very cold and unfriendly. The guy seemed nice enough but unfortunately the woman's attitude really soured our experience. They had expressed enthusiasm about catering our event before, but in person it seemed like we were asking her a personal favor that she was extremely unexcited about. Like, okay??? Why did you tell me you cater if you didn't want to?? We still wanted to try the food, of course, so we ordered a handful of (expensive) dishes. The food was bland and extremely underwhelming in all respects. We eat a LOT of Indian and Mediterranean food at many different restaurants and this is some of the worst we've had. Every dish was underseasoned with poorly paired textures. I dislike leaving bad reviews for new / small businesses but I feel like it's worth it if it even saves one person from spending their hard earned money here. read more

THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD IT IS UNBELIEVABLE! I mean seriously, this was an unexpectedly transcendent meal from a little food truck! I got the Akashic burger, which was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The meat itself is grass fed beef and has an amazing taste. It came with garlic cilantro fries and honestly I would go back just to eat the fries. I got two whole roasted garlic cloves in my order. The fries are crispy and sooo good. And then there's the tempura artichokes. THESE ARE AMAZING. They're crispy outside, soft but not soggy inside, and have a wonderful briny taste. The dipping sauce is minty and delicious and there's a few pickled onions that make a perfect bite. It's not cheap but everything is highest quality and it's way more than I could eat in one sitting. I really enjoyed the food. The website says they open at noon on Saturday but they didn't open until 2:30. It was fine because I arrived at 1:45 after a walk around town with my dog. We had some beer from 3 magnets brewery while we waited. Lots of outdoor seating was great. I had the Akashic burger, gunpowder fries, and tempura artichokes. Everything was great. This is a pretty solid and unique food trailer. My son and I both enjoyed our burgers. There are a lot of "fancy schmancy" offerings so if you are not adventurous with your food, you will not like it here. Lots of different items to try. Pretty expensive for a food truck but there ingredients are quality so if you have extra discretionary funds for food then this place is good. I stayed in Olympia for 3 nights and I went to Akashic for two out of my three dinners. Quick (But not too quick- the food is fresh!), good price for the quality, and some really unique options. On the first night I got the Nicos salad. The catch of the day was sockeye salmon. I liked this salad because it's almost exactly what I eat on a daily basis- greens, roasted veggies, and a protein. It's a good healthy option if you don't want fried food! Good portion size. My only negative comments are that my carrots were underdone and my salmon was a little overcooked for my preference. Gun powder fries were good. A notch up fro. Normal fries with the spices on them! Curry? Garam masala? Unsure. Dipping sauce was bomb. I'm suspecting some sort of mayo concotion. Came back the next night because I had already began to salivate about the Weaver when I woke up - a curry dish with rice, Indian curry, and the fresh catch (again, sockeye). This is a lot of rice for someone who doesn't eat too much rice (Ok- I'm the idiot who knowingly ordered the rice dish, knowing I don't like to eat much rice). I would have preferred it over veggies but I'm weird. Curry was good, I could have done with more on my plate but I understand that some people don't like that! I initially told myself I wasn't going to finish the entire dish because it was a lot of rice, but here I am with a clear plate in front of me. Solid option for a healthier dinner/lunch. We just tried this food truck parked outside the Tipsy Whale off the Steamboat Island road exit - the burgers & gunpowder fries were really good! There's some decent outdoor seating with tables & you can order beer, wine or cider from the Tipsy Whale to drink with your meal. Just tried this food trailer for the first time. I ordered the Akashic burger. Cooked perfectly! But next time I'll order the relish on the side or request they put half on. By the time I got back to my office it practically soaked through the "Portland" bun. It was also spilling out the sides, a lot less on the burger would be much better. But the arugala, aged cheddar and bacon, and even the massive amounts of yummy relish, made it a mighty tasty treat. This is the best burger I have had since moving to Olympia. My burger came with thicker slices of pork belly rather than your average bacon which really set it off. It was cooked rare as requested and the tomato jam added a bit of sweetness that went well with the saltier pork. I recommend the Gunpowder fries which were unlike any I have had before. They were seasoned in such a flavorful manner that there was no need for ketchup or any other condiment when eating them. Because I am a glutton I went ahead and ordered the Potato and Pea Lumpia. Comes with a tasty dipping sauce and was also fantastic. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a good burger. I've seen a few reviews that warn that the food is "exotic" but I thought the menu ran the gamut from standard fare to more adventurous dishes. read more

I randomly found this place about a month ago when I was stopped somewhere else. They are located on 4th & Plum in the mobile food truck park. I had just eaten so ordered the Pot&Peas Lumpia just to test them out. I got home and realized that they were SAMOSAS IN A LUMPIA WRAPPER!!! Yes, I was THAT excited. They are delicious and the chutney makes me want to bathe in it. About a week later, I tried the Akashic Burger with Grass-Fed beef! I also had the Gunpowder Fries. AMAZING!!! The burger was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and just perfect! The last few times I've had gunpowder fries elsewhere they were always way over seasoned. These were..........YOU GUESSED IT.....AMAZING! I've read other posts that mentioned the price point here but for this amazing organic food.....it's CHEAP! I just had a grass-fed burger at another restaurant that was $18 and it wasn't nearly as good. TL;DR: Go eat here! You will love it! read more

I really applaud their creativity. The fries were unique and the concept of the burgers we had was interesting (in a good way!) but I could not get over their deception of "grass fed beef." I saw the cook handle a cardboard box that said "First Street Burger Patties." These are the ones you can get at Cash & Carry, and they are heavily processed. When we actually started eating the burgers, you could tell right off the bat that the beef was not grass fed, let alone descent quality. I would have given this place 5 stars if they actually were honest and used what they advertised to customers. read more
