The back patio area is open to dogs. Half of the paved area is under cover and the rest of the tables sport sun umbrellas. #1 covered. The pubs menu is generous, but two categories stand out. Their smash burgers are juicy, oversized, and tender -- with beautifully crisp edges. The spicy bacon smash is perhaps the best non-homecooked burger I've ever had. And their signature tater tots are near perfect. Hot, crispy, flavorful without any greasiness. Perfect #2 nailed The taproom of course has a slew of brews on tap. Fruity framboise-styles to bitter IPAs, along with a broad selection of NW ciders. #3 nailed The indoor dining area and bar is open and friendly while outside is the aforementioned covered spaces. Many of the tables also sport propane flame heaters/fireplaces for when the temperature drops. It's cool to be cozy. #4 nailed. We'll be back!

Walking in, Im always in awe of how bright, clean, and engaging this place is. When you walk in, you walk to the ordering booth for food. They give you a number and then if you want any drinks you walk towards the back. They do have a water dispenser and condiments bar that holds many many games. Food is made to order and comes hot and delicious. This is the only place that Ill eat Guacamole. The waitress is kind and all the employees are very friendly. I must come back for the guac!

I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. How in the world it could be ruined. The cook does not know what he is doing! Our hashbrowns were ice cold. My chicken fried steak was not fully cooked. It was the frozen patty like you can buy at Walmart in the frozen entry section. The middle of the patty was still ice cold. The gravy was from a mix and very runny. Big big big disappointment. We are from Tenino and this place didn't stand against Sandstone Cafe - even the coffee was cold. The service was crudy also. Had to ask for everything like a spoon, a fork, butter for the pancakes. I did not finish my breakfast but asked for a box 'cause the dog might want it! Don't bother with this place. I think the drinks at night are what they survive on! I rate this a one star - given for easy parking.

We've lived in Yelm, Washington for two years now, and we've given this place way more chances than…read moreit deserved. We've been here at least 5-6 times. The very first time, the owner was our server and the service was actually pretty good. The food was mediocre, but we figured we'd come back and give it another shot. Unfortunately, that first experience has been the exception, not the rule. We are huge wing fans and so naturally we ordered the wings. They were freezer burnt and they were the full wing the flat and the drum hooked together. We were not a fan of them. We've stopped in just for a couple of beers while waiting for our dog to get groomed next door, and even those visits have been uncomfortable. We've dealt with bartenders who were rude and completely unfriendly, and servers who seem to forget you're even there. We came here for Valentine's Day two years ago with a reservation, expecting a nice, romantic dinner. Instead, it was an absolute disaster. The staff looked completely overwhelmed, nobody seemed to know what was going on, our expense steaks were over cooked badly, we were ignored for long stretches, never offered refills, and the entire dinner was a huge disappointment. But we kept trying. Most recently, we brought two friends here because we really wanted to give it one more chance. We actually warned them not to have high expectations. Unfortunately, the service was just as bad. We were ignored, never got beer refills, and the food was terrible. Our friends left saying they never wanted to come back. Today, while waiting for our dog to be groomed, we stopped in for a couple of beers and ordered the JoJos from the happy hour menu. Six or so potato wedges that were overcooked and just not very good, with mediocre barbecue sauce and ranch. There is a new server here whom we've never had before, and honestly, she's been better than anyone we've dealt with here in the past. She's still pretty slow, but she is easily the best service we've had since that very first visit when the owner served us. And ironically, that same owner has completely ignored us every time we've been back and hasn't said a word to us since our first visit. At this point, we've tried enough times to know this isn't a one-off bad night. The service is consistently awful, the food is mediocre at best, and the prices don't match what you're getting. We genuinely try to support local businesses, which is why we kept coming back and giving this place another chance. But after six or so visits and multiple disappointing experiences, we're done. I absolutely cannot recommend this place. If you're looking for overpriced, mediocre food and consistently terrible service, this is your place! Otherwise, there are plenty of other local places that deserve your money.

One reviewer commented on the owners wife and her "sickly sweet" smile. While I don't know her name, this woman is as nice as she seems. I take my mother here who has dementia and speaks very slowly. Her and the other gentleman who waits tables is always so kind and patient. I can't decide if I like breakfast or dinner here better, both are amazing! Everything is made from scratch, and different from any other restaurant in the area. Even their OJ is freshly squeezed. When they say they're out of food, it's because they purchase a limited quality of fresh ingredients so that the food is just that...fresh. We love coming in the summer to sit outside in the patio area, with the little fountain running you almost forget that you're in yelm. The interior is very cute, but not very big so best to come early to beat the crowds. I think we will go for breakfast in the morning, hopefully the nice lady with the "sickly sweet smile" is there so I can tip her extra for what sounds like an arrogant customer.
