Dr. Aker is sooo sweet! Had my first eye appt in over 2-3 years. Dr. Aker is so nice. I can see why when asked around who do people trust their eyes with they say Dr. Aker. We talked a bit and even dropped some recs of things to do and where to eat because I'm new to FL. What a sweet sweet man. Facility I went to was near Sunrise Bakery. His downstairs facility is the area where you try on glasses and fittings and stuff. Take the elevator up to the actual office where the exams and stuff are at. His staff seemed nice. Check in was a breeze as I did complete new patient paperwork prior to the visit. I felt the Dr did spend a good amount of time with me and addressed my concerns. read more

I have been coming to Dr. Akers office over 20 years and have remained a loyal patient throughout several moves including my most recent. While I'm sure there are other great eye doctors closer to me, I would gladly continue to drive the 40 mins it takes me now to continue being a patient. This practice goes above and beyond continuing their education and use of new technology to maintain high levels of care for patients and this keeps me coming back. I also want to highlight the staff - this practice has had some of the most pleasant reception staff out of any doctors office I've been to. Aker has also expanded the optical department with a wide offering of frames including sunglasses. The staff in optical is so helpful in guiding appropriate choices for different patients and I trust them wholly! On my last visit, I needed my glasses adjusted because they kept slipping off my face and they took care of me immediately; the adjustment took less than 10 minutes and was free of charge given I had purchased my lenses through them. Friendly and helpful staff. Dr Aker performed a top notch exam for me. For first time in years, excellent clarity in my vision.

I ordered 2 pairs of prescription glasses here, and I provided the frames. I was told a certain $$, and that a discount would be given when the glasses were ready and I picked them up. Not only did Aker Eye's charge me double of what I was quoted by the sunglass place (Costa del Mar) that Aker Eye was having the lenses made, they continuously told me the "2 year warranty" would arrive in my email, and I never received it. The vision of these lenses was not accurate (The dei-employee changed my original doctor's prescription that I had a vision test with, 2 days prior). When I returned the lenses, the gay-male employee hummed "I am so abused," the entire time ~15 minutes, while I was waiting for my refund, which was promised via email, like the warranty. My married-lesbian neighbors claim that a gay man singing that song to another man, indicates that this song is a "signal" to announce that he/we should start having casual sex. I was wearing my wedding ring, and I informed the homosexual that I was married. He then started calling me names/making fun of my "heterosexuality" after he realized he was barking yp the wrong tree. WOKE! Never did I receive any emails. Visited Aker Eye as part of the Downtown Titusville wine walk and was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff that my husband and I decided to give them a try. We were fortunate to have appointments with Dr. Koehnemann who was absolutely amazing. She took the time to really find out what our needs were and I have never in my blank-something years of needing contacts or glasses, have had a doctor be so thorough. The Playalinda Sunglass company downstairs, (mind you all offices are upstairs and we kind of waited not knowing where to go even though there is a giant finger pointing toward the elevator upon entering) has a great selecton. If you can't find a pair of glasses, regular or sun, I don't know where else you would look. Best part is that Playalinda Brewing Company and other shops are close by to enjoy post-appointment. read more

Wow... best Health Professional I've ever encountered.... First, I have been an established patient for years and have always received top-notch care, everyone who works for Dr. Aker seems delightful and give the same caring passion from the office to sales, and I hear from many patients like me who cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Aker, his fellow doctors and staff .... And I've had two "weekend" or after hour emergencies, and in one case Dr. Aker called me directly and asked me to meet him at his office immediately (it was on a Sunday a few years back) due to a painful eye scratch and he was able to patch me up... today, after getting stung in the eyeball by a wasp, showing minimum signs of irritation or reaction, I was able to remove the stinger, then I did the biggest "no-no" by Google searching bee-sting (which made me nervous)! So being it was a holiday weekend and just reading about his after-hours contact for emergencies I reached out with anticipation and a bit anxiety... in short, Dr. Aker called me directly, we spoke thoroughly about my concerns and he was able to ensure I was taken care of and asked me to call him directly if anything should change in my symptoms.... Short of an in-home bed side physician visit, what more can you ask from a healthcare professional who makes himself available to his community on Sunday and holiday weekend. I have been seeing Dr. Aker for years. This time, I saw Dr. Harbove. I've been using a new computer and my eyes are essentially blind (blurry, tired, achy) by the end of the day. Dr. Harbove prescribed special computer glasses with a larger viewing area for computer work and a special reflective coating to protect my eyes from the computer glare. Well, I wore my new glasses all day yesterday and the difference is AMAZING! I wish I'd gotten the glasses sooner. What a difference! Pretty disappointed, my family and I have been going here for over several years. Don't know what happen but customer services have totally gone down hill. We scheduled an appointment for my daughter at 3:40pm this pass Tuesday. We show up 10 minutes early sign in. They didn't called us till 4:10pm. 40 minutes later. So I asked them so why do I have an appointment time. This cause my daughter to be later to other apt. The lady behind the check out counter is VERY RUDE!!!! I had a weird vision issue. Called my primary Dr. and they said call my eye dr. I called Aker and got the answering machine. They texted me back and said to come in that they would fit me in. Dr. Aker did a very thorough exam, determining that I probably had a TIA and helped me get in to see a cardiologist right away. I HIGHLY recommend all of the eye Drs there. I usually see Dr. Sarah who has always been on top of whatever I issue I have had...from shingles to allergies... They are the BEST!!!! And they honestly may have saved my life. read more

After having a really bad stye in my eye over the weekend I called and the sweetest staff member got me in within the hour. Everyone was great checking me in and getting my insurance straightened out. Dr. Aker was wonderful. Extremely nice and great at just putting you at ease. He diagnosed me immediately and had a prescription waiting at my pharmacy. Excellent service and treatment all around. Can't say enough! Another yearly check up. A few changes noted but Dr. Aker & Co. are all receptive, caring & professional again & always! Dr. Aker always greets his patients with a smile and you can feel that you are in good hands under his care. He's caring, informative and obviously loves what he does. I've been going to him since I moved to Titusville in the early 80s. We also utilize his services at work and our employees think the world of him. His office staff is very nice and super helpful.
