New year, new glasses. But likely won't be returning. The practice is large, but the staff does do a good job to make you feel like you are the priority. That said, as mentioned in other reviews it is an expensive place when it comes to products and while they do provide you a bare bones Rx they won't give you additional info to allow you to safely obtain (glasses, etc) from other affordable options. This signals that the focus is indeed profits over care, with care focused only if you're paying beyond the base yearly visit. Prepare to spend a few hundred out of pocket for a single pair of glasses, even with any insurance discounts. Also they will not provide you with PD - even if you ask. It's important PD is accurate otherwise ordering elsewhere can result in bad glasses. When I asked for PD, even after purchasing glasses from them, I was informed that PD is an internal measurement they do not share and that if I want it or need it then I'm able to just do it myself using online instruction or methods. For these reasons, I'll likely be trying somewhere new next year as I'd like to not have my personal health info locked behind privacy. After all, why can't I see my own health data? read more

I was hopeful this would be a good experience, but unfortunately it was not. My prescription includes prism, and the doctor mentioned that he does not work with prism very often. To be fair, I do not know whether the problem was the prescription, measurements, or the lab. What I do know is that my glasses were made three times, including two remakes and a prescription recheck, and I still never received a pair that worked properly for me. The overall experience was very disappointing. During my initial visit, there was nobody available to assist with ordering glasses, so I had to return later for a separate appointment. The sales process felt very high pressure, and I was repeatedly told that my current glasses looked bad and that she would never let me leave wearing glasses that looked like that. Those comments made me feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. Communication was also poor. For the third pickup, I was specifically told to come at a certain time so the office manager could be there, but she was not present when I arrived. I requested a call and never received one. I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my credit card company, and the dispute was resolved in my favor. read more

This is sad for me to write because I really liked Dr. Yip. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. However, at this new location he and his wife seem very money driven. I got glasses from their office because I was sold on the idea of them having the best lenses ever...turns out that's NOT true. My lenses suck...my frames broke 3 times now...and I got my glasses from them in Nov. 2025! I haven't had such a bad experience with glasses since I ordered some in GlassesUSA some years ago. Just based off of reviews and their no refunds no matter what policy I'm not even going to waste what energy I do have trying to talk to the office. My lenses were VERY heavy and I paid for them to be shaved down...I don't think they were plus there's like a weird blue halo and constant reflections. It's just a shame that they're taking advantage of people that can't see and have disabilities. I spent about 300$ on my glasses and now I'm sitting here crying about it because that's a lot of money...and it really sucks having disabilities that zap my energy so much I can't even fight this. High pressure sales! Dr Yip talks up the products, example eye drops. On and on about how the type sold in the office is so much better. Okay fine. Then when you say you aren't interested in getting new frames and lenses the office mgr/Dr Yip's girlfriend is a high pressure sales person. She doesn't want to take no for an answer. The frames would only cost me $33 (insurance covered $200) bit somehow the lenses would be $210! They are the best lenses and the current ones I have are plastic. We'll, if my prescription seems to change yearly or every time I get an eye exam, I dont need expensive lenses. I really felt pressured. You have to wait for the office manager/girlfriend. No one else can assist. If you need frames adjusted, there isn't someone there on Mondays to do it. I believe most of the other people there are high school or college students. ​ read more

Dr Yip is amazing but unfortunately his front office staff is very high pressure with the sale of glasses. They made me feel like I HAD to buy them there because the other places that sell glasses are inferior. The glasses are very overpriced and I was convinced that I needed two pairs. It seems like the sale is more important than customer satisfaction. I felt intense pressure to buy them even though i cannot afford them both (computer and progressives). I regretted my decision and tried to cancel my order the following week. I called several times and went into the office in person and did not receive a follow up call to address my concerns. After hours of waiting in the office to speak with Yip's girlfriend (I was told she was the only one who could help me) I was told that there is a strict no refund/return policy. She continued to help other customers, one after another, despite knowing I was waiting to speak with her and left several messages. My previous eye doctor of over 20 years passed away, so I had to find my family a new one. Dr. Yip was found through my insurance, so I thought I would give him a try. The staff is friendly and courteous. My daughter's eye glasses got lost so they gave us a call to let us know the status and why it's been taking so long. The office is clean and organized. I was told that I would get a rebate and was quoted a specific amount, but when I went to fill it out, it was for less. Other than that, I like Dr. Yip. He's very knowledgeable and also teaches us about our eyes and conditions along with how we can care for them. UPDATE: My daughter's glasses are STILL, lost 3 months later. My husband and I tried to resolve this and the staff said they can't get a hold of the factory who makes the glasses. I called my insurance and they called the doctor's office to help them get into their portal. I still have not heard back. I politely called the other day to get an update, making sure not to bring up my previous frustrations and they said I would get a call back in 24 hours. It has been 36 hours and still no call back. I am very happy to write a review... I experienced flashes of light etc. I called his office immediately they worked me in! I was greeted and taken straight to the exam room and no paper work was mentioned ... The assistant came in and asked her questions entered in the computer and immediately the doctor was there diagnosed with PVT. Dr. Yip explained everything and I had peace of mind. Refused to provide my PD over the phone because "It's illegal." When pressed they told me that they could "loose their license" if I purchased glasses elsewhere with that information and the glasses were not correct. I asked if they were refusing to provide my medical information that i had paid for "Well I guess you can press charges if you want." My family has also been going to Dr. Yip for years (he was previously the in-house optometrist at a local Target optical.) He is very thorough with his exams and has a wonderful, calm manner about him. It's true that his staff is great - they really work hard to make sure that you get a pair of lenses that fits your face and have the experience to fit you well. (Vs other chains where they don't give a lot of guidance.) The prices on the frames are NOT the cheapest in the world, they carry mostly designer brands so if you pick the Tori's (like I did!) you are going to pay for them... Highly recommended! read more

Worst Experience!!! Saw all the good reviews and thought I would try. Big mistake. Made an appointment which they confirm, then cancelled saying the doctors will be out. Then I ask to reschedule. I go to my appointment and find out I have been double booked with another patient. The exam rooms are paper thin and I can hear everything the other patient is talking. Mostly small talk about 40 mins!!! They made me take time off from work to accommodate their reschedule and they double book and delay me. Then they are all off for lunch, I would have needed to wait 3 hours total to see this doctor. I asked to cancel and confirmation that I wouldn't get charged. The staff refused to give me documentation, and had to teach them normal doctor office procedures before they provided me with confirmation.
