We came in before the morning shift change. The staff was prompt, the noise level of the night and day shifts were acceptable, the bedside manners of everyone and I literally mean everyone was excellent. As a healthcare worker myself, you can't help but notice the small details and compare/contrast with your own experiences. I may be a touch biased towards teaching hospitals, having started my career in an inpatient rehab hospital as well. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped us! Wishing you all the best in your careers! I need to give a special shout out to Shawna from registration. Not only was she transparent about billing information and expectations, but she was also personable and there were organic moments where we couldn't help but laugh together despite the event itself being stressful. Thank you again, we hope to never be in a position where we have to come back but if there's ever a medical emergency again, we will choose Los Robles!

Ever since starting therapy with him, I continue to feel better and see improvement every single day. What has also really stood out to me is how helpful Dr. Cohen and his entire staff have been whenever I've had issues with my insurance. It's refreshing to find a doctor who not only knows what he's doing, but also takes the time to care about his patients and help them through the entire process. His timely responses to me and his after hours efforts to help definitely make a difference in the patients quality of life. It has mine! I am truly grateful for Dr. Cohen and his office staff. He has some of the best staff around too. Dr Cohen and his staff know every patient without having to read your chart every time. Feels like family!! I had an incident (broken ankle) that wasn't Dr Cohens area of expertise but I called him right away and he made sure I was in the best hands for treatment. He even did follow up with me to ensure I was healing overall, not just leaving it to the foot dr. Dr Cohen truly cares about the whole well being of his patients and I recommend him to anyone. I have referred so many of my own contacts to him because he is the best.

Another downside, for me, is that when they order any kind of test, the order has an expiration date in a week or two. I'm a senior, don't drive, and suffer from fibromyalgia with severe fatigue. All the orders from my independent drs are good for 6-12 mos! I'm guessing that large medical corporations serve a wider variety of clients, often across the entire country, so some are unreliable and do things without discussing with their drs, ergo the corporate CYA policies. Ok, but that's not me, and the independent drs I've always seen know that. Computers do not. I'm now 65 and the doctors I was with for 25+ years straight are retiring sadly. Or going "concierge" style. I got a phone message saying that my dr won't be in the day my next appt is set after all. AGAIN!! ! Each time it's ANOTHER 3-4 months before they can fit me in. Because of my fatigue added to being a lifelong "night owl", I can only do afternoon appts. I can't get to sleep until at least 3 am most nights. I also had to change my phone's "do not disturb" settings because UCLA calls at 7 am. All my life I have been taught it's rude to call others at home before 9 am. So I never get to talk to the office or person that called, since when I call back it's routed to that call center. Extremely impersonal. No one there has ANY medical training, not even receptionist level, all they do is look for open spaces on a computer screen. No empathy, and zero offers of any other way to schedule an appointment or ask a question- you have to push for any of that. When I use the app, I can interact directly with my dr's office, but it's still a series of steps from who reads my message, to a nurse or other medical assistant, to the dr, then back to me. This leads to very poor information sharing. I prefer a much more individualized approach.

Go here ONLY AS A LAST RESORT!…read more My experiences at the the Center For Advanced Wound Healing were horrible. I was charged $5,462.89 for 5 minutes of nurse time, 5 minutes of doctor time and less than $20 of materials. No specialized equipment was involved. I was treated on two separate dates for the same wound. It was a small crack on my big toe surrounded by a callous. The wound was approximately 3/16 inch long, less than 1/8 inch deep and less than 1/16 inch wide. It was just a small crack in my skin, but I was having difficulty getting it to heal. On both visits, the routine was the same. I removed my shoe and sock and sat in an examination chair. The nurse removed the 1-inch band-aid from my toe and applied a common over-the-counter disinfectant. Dr. Bui arrived and examined my toe. He then took a disposable scalpel and spent about one minute trimming my callous. Then he applied a small amount of wound dressing (about 1/4 x 1/8 inch) and covered it with a common 1-inch band-aid. The doctor and the nurse both spent about 5 minutes with me. The wound dressing is about $17 at Amazon for 4.3 square inches - enough to treat my toe more than one hundred times. I have no complaint about Dr. Bui's treatment. It didn't solve the problem, but I don't know what else he could have done. I do have a huge complaint about the cost. I was charged $5,462.89 per visit. A total of $10,925.96 for the 2 visits. They used less than $20 of materials at each visit. 5 minutes of nurse time and 5 minutes of doctor time at each visit. My podiatrist bills $201 for the exact same treatment. I spent many hours on the phone and writing letters trying to get these charges corrected. I was able to get a charge for $1,294 (described as "dressing wound, 19.1 square inches" - I have no idea where that came from) removed. If you call Los Robles to dispute a charge, plan on spending at least an hour on the phone only to get a promise that "someone will take a look at that". DO NOT go to the Center For Advanced Wound Healing unless you are near death and have no alternative.

Let's be honest, getting knee injections isn't exactly something you look forward to, but every time I leave, I'm walking easier and feeling better. That says everything. He's helped me more than I expected, and I'm truly grateful. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone dealing with knee pain or arthritis conditions. Brett P.
