She would not give me information only said"we open at 9 come in take class no appointment needed when you come" I said I would like information please as in how long the class or classes are and she just repeated the same line I was about to ask the cost and she hung up on me. After reading some of the low rating reviews regarding the training center and the instructor. I was a bit skeptical going here for my Baton Training ($180.00 fee by the way (not bad on the pricing)). I went today and I was completely astonished on how great my experience was. Kathy is experienced and does things by the book. Sure, there's a language barrier but with some patience you can understand her. If you're used to having things come easy and if you're emotionally sensitive then I suggest you go to another location for your permits. Overall the "tough love" she gives is for a reason. She wants you to learn without having to cheat (like sharing answers with others) or rushing to complete the course. That being said...you will be there for 3-4hrs. Read the materials because it will come in handy down the line, be patient, respectful, and don't rush. She's a great, hardworking instructor, and she just wants you to learn the right way. read more

I scream and told her . She said she knows she has been trying to catch it . I told her I'm leaving I'm uncomfortable this is disgusting, inhumane and unsanitary. She got upset and aggressive. She yelled at me , snatch papers out my hand saying I can't leave with the papers I filled out with my social security number on it . She can barely talk or speak English cant't understand a word she is saying looks like she about to die. Very disrespectful very mean old lady . I want to begin this review by stating that you will not find a more efficient establishment for obtaining your certifications than this location. Go anywhere else and you will be risking having to perform one or more of the difficult steps of the process by yourself, and you will most likely mess it up in one way or another. You may not be able to find a more efficient certification establishment anywhere else, but that should not prevent people from being honest about the negative aspects of coming here. As anyone being completely honest will tell you, Kathy is so difficult to understand that anyone new to the industry will leave with a plethora of questions that should've been answered by Kathy without them being asked. Granted, you'll learn everything you can't understand from her on the job, but it doesn't change the fact she doesn't speak English well by any standard. Even worse is the way she speaks down to everyone, but I just assume it is a culture barrier that prevents her from realizing she is being disrespectful at unjustifiable levels. My best advice to any prospective patron of this place is to go, pay your fees, expect to take more than an hour, and do your best to not take any dig Kathy takes too seriously. Reading your pamphlet and learning on the job will be enough for you. Get your guard card, then your pepper spray, taser, and baton certifications, then finally do your firearms. Went to get my guard card on the 24th not really knowing what to expect as it was my first experience with AKI Security. Got there right as it opened at 9 and was greeted by Kathy, immediately she got to work on getting all the paperwork we needed filled out. She works fast and is professional, while putting her own humor in. I was with a class of a few other guys and we all had a few laughs and learned alot. Kathy does EVERYTHING same day. I came in to do fingerprints because she was close and cheap. Mistake. She didn't wear a mask, had no sanitizer for hands or the finger print machine. Wasn't wearing gloves. On top of that, she was very harsh, rude, and (as another review mentioned) talks to you as if you're a child. Would definitely not recommend or come here again. I was doing my best to social distance, and she was complaining that I needed to stand closer. I told her I'm trying to social Distance best I can, especially since she's not wearing a mask. She is also hard to understand, but that's easier to work around. Find somewhere else to go. read more

Ill explain the Armed Guard Permit pricing from my knowledge and what i paid. In total I paid 244 flat. Thats how much you will spend for the firearms class. 160 for the class and 84 for the live fingerprint scan. You will pay 244 but there is one more fee. After you finish and pass the class you have to head to the range at the other location 10 min away. When you pass the instructor will hand you a form and you will add it to the other forms Kathy will hand you. . Those forms you have to send yourself through post office. In that packet of (4) forms you have to send a money order or check of $100 . Starting the class - You will fill out forms basic info of yourself then do the class. Watch a couple videos and 2 tests. One is naming the parts of 2 hand guns. You'll be handed a booklet to study. Then a multiple choice , easy.. Kathy will go over everything not missing anything. She is very smart and will teach you many things. The last thing you will demonstrate you can pick up a blue dummy pistol and hold it correctly. You will load 3 pistols one by one demonstrating you can do it. 1st a Revolver 2nd Glock 19 3rd "Final Test" Beretta M9. If you don't know she will teach you anyway. Regardless if you say you know she will teach you. BE ADVISED- The Range is only open Mondays Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays. Just incase you want to do the one day Course. read more

The owner is extremely disrespectful. She has no patience or tolerance. This is the first time I came here so of course I'm going to ask questions, her English isn't very good so it's hard to understand her. That's why I politely asked multiple times, and she got angry with me. If something isn't clear I'm going to ask to make sure I'm doing it correctly. She told me I wasn't paying attention or listening and she's not going to repeat 2-3 times. I said it's my first time coming here so it's normal for me to ask questions. If you want to be belittled and yelled at feel free to go here. I honestly felt harassed the entire time. Is this how you treat customers? Your not my school teacher to be yelling at me like that. If you want to spend money, I think you should go somewhere you'll be treated with respect. Some advice for anyone out there that wants the guard card, you can take the test online by yourself and on the bureau website you can fill out the application, you can also do the live scan on your own.
