Stopped in for lunch one day. Was greeted by a nice guy and quickly seated. I ordered a water and some edamame. The edamame came out and it was delicious. I ordered a few rolls and they were really good, too. The sauce on it wasn't my favorite, but I ate it anyway. I also ordered the miso soup which was good, too. Came here about 1:00 for lunch on a Saturday and the place was empty. In the time that I was waiting for my food to come (which wasn't long considering), there were 3 pick ups of take out orders. I guess take out is a thing here. The mongolian beef I had just got enough sauce and veggies. Beef was cut to the right thickness and cooked perfectly. I ordered the locomotive sushi which came in 8 cut pieces. Generous with the shrimps on top. They have quite a selection of sushi, raw or cooked. About 30 kinds of sushi. The server Margie was attentive and helpful and not intrusive. Before I left, 4 other tables got occupied. This is definitely the place to go for sushi in Clermont - not far from Colonial / 50. Good but not great. We've been meaning to check this out for awhile because we've seen a lot of positive recommendations for it & we live nearby. Finally came in on a Saturday evening & were seated right away, it was semi busy but not had some open tables. Started with some soda, unfortunately Pepsi products here. Got the spring rolls. They were flavorful but we wished there were more for the price. One each just isn't a great portion. For entrees I had the teriyaki beef. I wasn't expecting it to come out sizzling but was pleasantly surprised by that. It was obviously fresh and delicious with green beans (they could've used a little more seasoning). My husband got the Mongolian beef and he didn't enjoy his quite as much. He said not enough meat with his vegetables. A great local restaurant. Nice feel as soon as you walk in. Friendly and prompt service. Small but roomy so you don't feel shoved up to the next person. Don't feel like You're are almost eating off the neighbors plate. We ordered the yakitori appetizer, the teriyaki salmon and the sushi. All were great and very enjoyable. Was a bit pricey at $86 as we could only order from the dinner menu on Sunday's. We'll go back and grab something from the lunch menu as the prices are a little less steep during the week. I have to say never in my life would I have tried a peach sushi roll. However it was absolutely delicious. I was so surprised how well the flavors went together. Definitely recommend coming here for this roll alone. Personally I wish they had more raw options but this roll made me very happy. We also ordered the roti but it seemed very greasy. I am used to the curry sauce being thicker in texture at other locations so it threw me off how liquid it was. the softshell crab was a little too over fried for my liking in the spider roll. The service was quick and friendly. He answered all of our questions and we were seated almost immediately. It was around 6pm when we went there on a Friday evening. It's a cute little restaurant but seems a little dated inside. Overall I'd say come to try the peach roll but that's about it. read more

If you do like average Asian food, this is good. Everything is very saucy. I ordered some sushi with eel, because eel is my favorite. There was barely any eel in it and the piece I could find was dried out. The only flavor I could taste was the cream cheese. Sushi was a bit overly packed with rice and the calamari did not look crispy brown at all. We were in Orlando for vacation and have friends that live there. They recommended this restaurant because they visit it often and love it. Now I know why they love it. The restaurant is a part of a shopping strip mall, but it is highly prominent so you can't miss it. The indoors is warm, clean, and welcoming. We were seated right away. The service was great. She kept the drink refills coming. Now, let's get to the REALLY good stuff...the food! If you're used to going to one of those "...Express" chains for your Asian food, you will be blown away at Akina. The food here is authentic, the portions are great, and the food tastes delicious. I love going to an Asian restaurant and the food isn't dripping in grease or overly saturated with sauce (like some are). BEST SUSHI SPOT IN TOWN! I just moved here from California and my goodness it is rough to find some quality , non franchised food around here, especially as a VEGAN!! However, after discovering Akina, I have hope! The Vegan Avocado & Peach sushi roll is fantastic and something I have never had before! The Veggie Pad Thai is really good, although I feel like there could be more noodles, and the Jasmine Tea is great! I always have an incredible server, white guy with Jamaican vibe lol! The rating on this place has dropped to the bottom. I have been a customer for over twenty years and yesterday I was there after a few months. I always order the chili shrimp. well the veggie that was supposed to be crispy was cold and soft, the fried rice that i order with it was cold, the sauce that was used was not the sauc, some of the veggies were kind sour. it was the worst experience. This is a GREAT find for Japanese Fusion. From the huge variety of rolls to the lunch plates, everything is delicious. The L2 Salmon Teriyaki plate is worth the price for sure; the salmon is crispy outside while being moist inside. The Shrimp Tempura Roll is fresh, crispy and tasty. Four years ago when house hunting our realtor took us here. It was so delicious. I was impressed they even had kimchi. After we bought our home in a development about 2 miles away we would come here from time to time. One of the more expensive Asian restaurants for the regular Asian dishes but the quality and flavor made it worth it. Unfortunately the last two times this year we have been it has not been the best. Our bills totaling $50+ and we threw away half of it. The honey garlic chicken really was the writer thing I have ever gotten. It was new for me to order this last time and the consistency on the outside of it was like bumpy skin but it wasn't. It was very off putting. Our California Roll was sour tasting. Normally we get Mongolian beef, kimchi, spring rolls, and real sushi and usually all is very good most of the time. The wait staff is wonderful for the last four years, however the last few times the take out staff has been abrupt and rude a little and started to wait on others even though I was waiting first and they saw me. I just think they are overwhelmed by the sheer amount take out now. Again.... usually their staff, sushi and food is great. Expensive but it was worth it. I hope they fix whatever is going on. Maybe it's because it's 2020. Everything else has been not the norm so why not lol. Probably won't go back for awhile. But will one day in hopes it becomes my happy place again. read more

I was quite disappointed in this restaurant. It's so hard to find a good restaurant here in Lake County, especially one of this ilk. I ordered the crispy chicken, light on the spice, and it came with white rice. My husband got the teriyaki chicken along with white rice as well. For an appetizer, we got the Yakitori. The crispy chicken was pretty good, a large portion, and not too spicy. The teriyaki chicken was flattened chicken thigh meat and was kind of rubbery. The Yakitori app was subpar, nothing special. Service felt inattentive and too casual. Took them a while to take our order. For the prices, which are quite high, this was not a good value. The ambiance was okay, but I noticed the floor was dirty with some debris by our table. Probably won't return. read more

Before the new ownership, I would have given them 1 star - as even after I told them I had a gluten allergy and explained in detail what it was, they got me very sick. Now - the whole staff was amazing and kind. The food selection and quality was on point. Our server was really upbeat and happy to help. She was attentive to my food allergies and were actually able to make suggestions and guide me to what would be safe. It's a cute little restaurant on the inside and clean. It was a Sunday night and Akina was quite busy inside the restaurant as well as take-out orders. The flow of take-out orders was pretty impressive as it seemed three out five patrons were picking up. It's always a good sign when you see a restaurant that busy on an off night, (for me) it means fresh food as the food keeps moving. With that said... Akina is a good quality restaurant with delicious entrees as well as delicious Sushi. Four star rating due to the Fried Rice lacking more ingredients other than rice. Both Sushi dishes (pictured) were delicious. General Tso Chicken (one of my favs) was phenomenal! Note... substitute rice for noodles (pictured) $2 up charge, server didn't tell me that, noticed up charge on bill. The Chicken Curry was a big hit! Heck, everything was great from the ambiance, the obvious cleanliness, seeing wiping down tables after customers leave, to the service and delicious food. Immediately greeted upon entering restaurant steadily busy almost at 50% capacity. Food seems to be made to order which is perfectly fine for me as I do not wish to have things microwaved. Staff is friendly, place is clean and so are the bathrooms. It's a nice cozy spot away from much of anything that brings in traffic. Presentation of the foods were spot on and there wasn't excess of any kinds of sauces or ingredients so this place prides itself on the food it makes and you can tell. The menus are legible and easy to follow if you are familiar with Asian foods. However, if you're a novice you might get help from the servers or just use your phone to figure out what you might eat from their menu. Again the food tasted fresh and I wish I could have tried everything on the menu but I may come by again. Prices are a little high but the quality just barely matches what they ask for. It's a nice cozy spot right off one of the main highways and worth at least one night out of the week for dinner. I'll be making my rounds to the other Asian restaurants to compare. But you cannot go wrong with this place. They also offer takeout so you can call ahead and order. Also, don't forget to make a reservation especially on the weekends read more

We were one of three tables in the restaurant and our waiter barely paid us any mind. I had to ask repeatedly for a refill of water despite being one of his two tables.
