This place was a pleasant surprise! We called the other hibachi place in town (had higher ratings) and were sad to hear they don't actually do the show, they just serve the food. BUT! All worked out in our favor because this place was amazing. Show was fun, staff was attentive, and the food...literally, some of the best food I've had in the area in a LONG time. I know it's only a small part of the meal, but the fried rice loaded up with yum yum sauce is something I will be raving about and craving for a long time (hopefully not too long, because we'll be going back soon)! Came in at about 1:30 to enjoy lunch by myself. My server was extremely prompt even helping me decide what I might enjoy most. I decided on the salmon hibachi lunch menu combo. I wasn't looking for anything extremely heavy so he stated this was a great choice. The soup was very flavorful. More flavor than most miso soups I've had in the past. The salad w plenty of that delicious ginger dressing! When my salmon came out, it was brought on a bed of sautéed red onions, which paired great. It was flakey as well so cooked perfectly. Just went to this place to try it out. It's pretty bad to say that as far as I felt it was OK. Maybe two steps above gas station sushi. I'd rather take the extra few miles and go into a real Japanese restaurant. A place where you get served sushi that to me in my opinion is correct. One of the rolls I got was the spicy salmon. The salmon was so finally chopped. I would say it was ground and the amount within the role was small. And that's all it was in the sushi spicy tuna. If it was a quarter of an inch wide, it was lucky. I could say the best part was the service was right on. They were extremely attentive. But I don't eat that. I eat the food. Very small out of the way place in a small strip mall. The decor was minimal, but the staff was extremely friendly, warm, and inviting. They were more than willing to deal with my dining party's extremely finicky pallets. One of my dining companion ordered would could only be described as a full bucket of sashimi and was very happy with it. My NY strip and scallops were very good as were all the included sides with the hibachi style dinner. The prices were extremely reasonable, and I was very happy with the final bill. Overall, I wouldn't being a first date here, but it's a great family sit down restaurant where you're going to feel the hospitality as soon as you set foot in the door. read more

Good, solid hibachi experience at Robata today! We came in for a late lunch/early dinner. They were accommodating that some folks wanted the lunch and others wanted the dinner menu, which was nice. Prices are average for a hibachi restaurant, and they have a ton of combination options for dinner but less so for lunch...so went with dinner knowing we'd probably have a bunch leftover. My husband got the filet and shrimp, and I got the scallops and shrimp. In addition to the hibachi, my husband and I also ordered the Volcano roll. It was super good, and we'd order it again. The dinner was cooked well with the usual fanfare and theatrics one expects at a hibachi restaurant. The cook was jovial and quick. We enjoyed that dinner comes with rice and noodles, which is a little of a nuance from other hibachi restaurants where we've eaten. We had a ton of food to bring him though I will say it was a bit heavier on the rice and noodles than veggie portions. In terms of the restaurant itself, it needs a little love. It's not terrible but could use some TLC in the near future. However, food is good and that's what I ultimately use to judge a restaurant when it comes to reviews. The hibachi style service was very good, and of course entertaining! Overall the portions were fairly large. Something odd to us was that each hibachi meal came with shrimp on the side. There were water stains on the walls and ceiling tiles, and the bathrooms weren't the cleanest either. Parts of the restaurant seemed a little run down. As someone who goes to hibachi quite often this experience was average to below average. You pay for what to get. We went for an early lunch and the pricing was good, however the food and experience (the show of it all) was average or less than. The fried rice was excellent, the steak and shrimp were decent, the vegetable side and noodles were disappointing. I did a noodle add on and didn't even eat them, they were not very appetizing. The show experience was also quite mediocre. I personally wouldn't go back but if you're looking for decent hibachi style food with not the best performance this isn't an awful spot - just average. read more

Went there for wife's birthday with the extended family. Had a couple of kids and grandparents too. We all were SUPER impressed all around. From the filet to the martini to all the trimmings, it was 99% perfect (cook the shrimp a little less). The rice and pasta were absolutely delicious and the yum yum sauce was exactly what the same says! Service was amazing, I don't think we had a drink ever go past half empty and the chef was amazing. Chatted him up a bit and he was very pleasant. We all were cracking up over the pee pee water bottles he used to spray some water all around. It's exactly as the name states and was hilarious! The show of a hibachi was as good as anywhere I've been around Orlando. The place is huge! Have lived out here for years and didn't know we had this gem in our backyard. Our son went to this restaurant for a Summer Camp field trip. He brought home left over noodles with Yum Yum sauce so we decided to order Robata as take out for dinner! The portions are huge. Food was temperature hot. We ordered the Chicken & NY Strip Hibachi and the NY Strip & Shrimp Hibaci. Both come with vegetables, fried rice, noodles, soup and two large shrimp. Our child loved the experience and the food from the restaurant on his trip and we loved the delicious food from take out. My only complaint was that the shrimp sample was definitely overcooked and rubbery. It was the first thing the chef put on to cook, but the last thing he served. Other hibachi places, the shrimp is served pretty quick. It doesn't take long to cook shrimp, especially on their cooking equipment. This is a place of how should I say in a nice way, ah I can't. The place is big but is reminiscent of a prison lunch room like you see on TV. I was working all day and didn't feel like cooking tonight. unfortunately, my favorite hibachi place is closed on Mondays but I really wanted hibachi so I thought why not try this place... well that was a mistake. I got the sirloin steak hibachi (medium rare). My steak with DRY and well done is an under statement. I could only eat two pieces. I asked for only broccoli as my vegetable and they were raw not even cooked slightly. The rice and noodles were bland and didn't look appetizing at all.
