My husband and I love it for date nights and when we take our young girls to dinner as well. Last night, Chris went above and beyond to make our dinner so special. His recommendations on every single thing from what flavor of juice our 6 year old might enjoy to what wine I should get with our lamb was spot on. Vanessa came over to check on us and it was a pleasure speaking with her as well. Everyone at the hostess stand was so kind and accommodating. We got the bread and dips appetizer, the shepherd salad with feta, and the Mixed Grill for two (all lamb) for the table of four and had MORE than enough food. This experience reminded me of a Seinfeld episode. This location knows how to take a reservation, they just don't know how to keep a reservation. I made a standard (meaning indoor) reservation for two, show up at the time only to be told that there are no table available for two. I told they that I had made a reservation, they say they understand that and offer me outdoor seating instead. It's Florida, it's 90+ degrees and raining. No, we don't want to sit outside, so I tell them I made an indoor reservation. They understand but there's nothing available. I ask, then why take a reservation? They tell I that I can wait 20+ minutes for a table to become available. We do. While we wait, larger parties, with children and no reservations, come in. They immediately sit them down. So they do have tables available, they are just waiting for larger parties to come in, not just parties of two to occupy larger tables. Unbelievable. The food was great. The quantity for the prices, are great, and our waitress was great. They just need to learn how to keep the reservations. We also ordered Hummus & pita breads. The pita breads are $1 each. The bartender served us hot champagne. We complained, they brought us a bucket & added ice. It was still warm anyway as it was not a cold bottle of Champagne. Yuck. The hummus was served with a grainy texture, not smooth, like it wasn't processed enough. No chickpeas, no sumac. They put paprika on top of theirs. I asked for sumac and they did put some, but it was old, stale sumac, not fresh. Will never return. Do not recommend. read more

Food: - Babaganoush with Lavas: ordered Lavas (hollow bread) to dip with Babaganoush. A good eggplant flavour, balanced fresh ingredients and plenty to share! A great starter. - Calamari: lightly breaded calamari, nothing remarkable, but a generous portion & crisp. Good to start off the meal if you like a lil crisp and seafood! - Mixed plate for 2: a plate with doner kebab, chicken and lamb kofta. Served over rice and served with light salads on the side. I love Turkish food, actually all Mediterranean. I just took 1 stars off because I saw and advertise saying during haply hour, choose 2 dips and enjoy a full labs bread, we asked the server and said there doesn't exist (even when was at their social media) but OK, we ordered the 2 dips and the bread. Bread was really good, could have more seasoning and a little bit more cooked but was good. The babaganoush was amazing. The main course we ordered the chicken adana and the lamb adana. Both were really good, rice was azmzing and the beet so so good! We always enjoy Bosphorous and were excited to see it offered on Magical Dining this year. Mohammed (sp?) was our server and we appreciated his friendliness and efficiency. Mike's lamb shank was SO tender and plentiful we were able to take some leftovers home. We also enjoyed the half orders of Baba Ganoush and Humus. Lentil soup paired with Lavas was very nice even though it's not really soup weather in Orlando in September. But the copper (?) topped tables provided plenty of coolness to put us in a soup mood. Chocolate Mousse dessert was different from most chocolate mousse we've had but was a very nice, light palate-cleansing end to the meal. read more

REVIEW: I have been to this Bosphorous location numerous times of the years, and we have celebrated a lot here - new years, new jobs, and the latest - recognition for Father's Day. It was very busy - almost a reservations required type situation. We had a seat indoors. There is a nice covered outdoor patio, but it was at 100% humidity because of the impending rain. FOOD: I have never had a bad meal between the Winter Garden and Dr. Phillips location. My husband and I usually share the mixed grill for two, which is a very generous portion of lamb, chicken, rice, and vegetables. My mother-in-law finished her chicken sis kebap. We always get the lavas (bread) and hummus. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. SERVICE: Mohammed was our server, and he was amazing. Refills, high fives for my daughter, everything. He was on top of it. Kudos to the rest of the team too. We have always had great service, which also helps keep this restaurant in the line up for places to go in the Hamlin area. ATMOSPHERE: It is usually pretty lively when busy. It isn't where I'd go for a quiet meal, but that's OK! It is beautifully decorated. Perfect lunch/dinner vibe. I love turkish food and this always hits the spot. I never remember what the bread is called with the white sauce but we get it every time. Ive been to a few locations around orlando/greater orlando but the Winter Garden location is my favorite. I really like the vibes here. The outdoor patio is perfect. I genuinely cant remember if I have ever chosen to eat inside because the weather has always been so good when I have come here. When i was a kid my dad used to make us turkish rice and honestly this place also gives me nostalgia. The food is so good and fresh. The fresh fruit juices, the food and veggies , you cant go wrong. The presentation of the food was very well done. I had the chilean Sea Bass which tasted fine but when compared to true Chilean Seabass that I've had in the Caribbean, there was no comparison the Seabass out of the Caribbean was definitely thicker flake here and this so-called Chilean Seabass was much thinner much fish you're tasting, which makes me wonder if it was truly Chilean Seabass. Everyone in the party had something different and all three other members all enjoyed their meals Of course, the fresh bread which is brought out and looks like a huge loaf because it's inflated with the hot air for cooking was very tasty and I think more people at the table raved more about the bread than anything else Our weight staff a.k.a. service was excellent absolutely no complaints as for the ambience. Absolutely delicious food! My husband and I love to bring visitors to Bosphorous. The food never disappoints and the service is always good. We always start with the mixed appetizers and lavas. The baba ganoush is our favorite but everything is terrific. We usually share a saute for our meal given the large appetizer. Our favorite sauté is the shrimp in cream sauce, but we have had lamb in tomato sauce recently too. It's all amazing. Finally, we always save room for kunefe. It's terrific all by itself. On May 4th, my Sunday lunch group and I went to Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine in Winter Garden. First of all, they've made it very easy for me to make the reservation. The staff was friendly and our server fantastic. Our server was very attentive and to ensure we had everything we needed. I noticed that she was serving another large group like ours and she paid just as much attention to them as they did with us. No one suffered from bad service. Everyone enjoyed their food. I know my food was delicious. I'm used to having chicken kubadeh at Persian restaurants. Their version of the chicken kubadeh is chicken adana kebab. Just as good as the kubadeh and the food was not dry. The sides that came with the dish were just as delicious. I would have rated this a 5 ; however, one of our friends ordered a cocktail and told our server that he just wanted a splash of cranberry juice. The drink came out very red and did not look like it was only a splash. He told the server that it was too much cranberry. The server went back to the bartender to let her know and when the server brought out the new drink, it was just as red. This happened 5 times. I know it was not the server's fault but the bartender making the drink. This was the only issue we had that I was aware of. The restaurant was nice and clean. Even the bathroom was clean. It was nice inside the restaurant, and it was well lit. If you've never been to Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, and you like middle eastern food, I suggest stopping by and try them out. read more

I want to highlight that our initial 2 star review was during the first 6 months of operation for Bosphorous and they were still very much adjusting their business model. Since then, Bosphorus has been a spot that my wife and I go to every so often. (5 Extra Stars) Whenever I'm traveling, I need to check out some of the highly recommended eateries. Bosphorous was absolutely fantastic. You have your options of indoor or outdoor dining. When we walked in for a reservation for 2, we were seated in nice quiet corner where you can see the full view of the restaurant. Our server Christian was phenomenal and had a great personality. He was also helpful in suggesting to try the "Mixed Appetizer" option. We also we able to see how in-tune the other severs are with assisting each other and being very supportive when trying to get the guest food out. The food came out and everything was delicious! We started with the appetizers and that was so fresh and flavorful! Humus and Babaganoush was creamy and the other items were refreshing. The Lavas bread was sooo good. Who doesn't enjoy fresh warm bread! Entrees came out hot and had THE most fragrant aroma. The spices and seasoning with the Lamb Sautee were warm and delicious. I ordered the sea bass whole and they grilled it to perfection! The fish was flavorful and the bed of greens provided just enough to make the meal complete. We came here for a celebration and lucked out as we got in our drink order in enough time for the 50% happy hour. We started with the lavish bread which is a staple. Don't know what to order? Try the sampler which is a good mix of choices. For dinner we had the "mixed grill for two" which is a combination of chicken, beef and lamb meets all seasoned and grilled to perfection. They also have outside seating and a inside bar area. A good place for a date night or friends night. Drinks are in the range of 13$ and up. Happy hour I noticed is from 3-6. Pita bread came out a little crisp so if you don't like it crisp make sure you tell the waitress. She brought new (not pictures) after bringing to her attention. This is our go-to spot in Hamlin area. The food is consistently good and the service never let us down. The ambiance is always nice but note that I only come here not during popular time. I always sit outside with my dog and the servers always bring him his own water bowl. My favorite dish is the Grilled Lamb Adana Kebab. It never disappoints. I always end the meal with a nice pot of Turkish tea. Pro Tips: Come during off hours for the best experience. When I come during prime dinner time, the wait time can get up to 45 minutes and I never wait around for that since I would start getting hangry. read more

I started out with the Bosphorous in Winter Park, and it was amazing. So I had a friend who lived out this way, and I wanted to show her how great this place was. The Winter Garden location did not disappoint. Equal quality food, great service, excellent experience. I started out with old reliable: the Mixed Appetizer (Karisik Mese) (A combination of Humus, Babaganoush, Sautéed Eggplant, Muhammara, Ezme, Tarama, Haydari and Zetinyagli Yaprak Dolma). This is an amazing sampler platter that has a dip for everyone. My personal favorite is the red pepper-based one that's a little nutty. Don't remember the name, but you'll see it. That sampler would be useless without the Lavas (Hollow Bread) (Our signature, baked to-order bread creation. Highly recommended for all soups & appetizers). This massive flatbread is hollow, but you get double the visual surface area to rip up and use to scoop up those amazing dips from above. Not only that, but you can use this on your entrée to make little wraps/taquitos. Speaking of entrees, I got the Lamb Sis Kebap (Skewers of tender lamb marinated in our chef's unique seasonings and chargrilled to perfection). Their lamb is perfect. The hunks of lamb are so big that they do not overcook. Super tender and juicy, perfect to cut up, put in a piece of lavas, and top with some of the pickled veg they give you for a nice little taco. I also got to try the Turkish Style Pizza (Lahmacun) (A popular Turkish dish with freshly ground lamb blended with peppers, tomatoes, parsley and fresh herbs on thin crusted dough). This was truly excellent. We got warned when we ordered it, telling me that a bunch of unhappy, vanilla people probably were unpleasantly surprised by this dish, but I loved it. A crispy flatbread, splattered with veg and ground lamb. Very unique. Very good. So finish things off, we got the Turkish Pineapple Delight (Layers of moist yellow sponge cake, pineapple and mousse topped with white chocolate shavings). This was nice. Moist cake, soft mouse, a lot of softness, not a ton of texture, but no complaints. It was delish. Not too sweet. Overall, another five star location. I'm gonna check out Lake Nona later on this month. I'm sure it'll be the same. read more
