My experience at the Jesus Wall studio was different in that this was the first time I went with a professional celebrity photographer, who actually highly recommended it. The great thing about this place was that in addition to themed walls, couches, curtains, and white space, it also came with professional equipment such as key lights, props, and even a wind machine I got to use to flow my daughter's hair for portraits. It was equipped with everything that a professional photographer needs. There was even a makeup mirrored table to prep for shoots, which apparently was key for my daughter. The place is located in an interesting industrial-looking lot near downtown LA, and while there are a lot of parking spaces, they were quite full. However, just a few minutes of waiting yielded open spaces, as apparently there is a lot of come-and-go traffic. I enjoyed my experience here, and the proof is in the phenomenal photographs I got back.

Norm was incredibly helpful in the planning process, suggesting the best spots, helping us build a smooth timeline, and making sure everything flowed perfectly. Our wedding happened right after the government shutdown started, and Norm was a huge help--he was already in the park and kept us informed, letting us know we wouldn't have any issues. That kind of support made everything so much less stressful. He captured a breathtaking variety of photos--from afternoon shots in Yosemite Valley to night shots at Tenaya Lake and of course ceremony photos at the top. The night photos, in particular, blew us away, and anyone we've shown our photos to thinks they're absolutely stunning. Norm truly can cover it all: sunrise, sunset, day, night, posed, candid--you name it! And let's not forget the 14-mile hike starting at 2am--he carried all his gear without a single complaint and even scouted the location solo a few days prior to make sure he knew exactly how to capture the best shots. As soon as we started talking I began to feel at ease, which was a nice change from the various vendor meetings where you feel everyone is just trying to gouge you because they know it's such an important day. Sam and Bethany are very calm, definitely funny and just another cool couple to talk with. I can go on and on about them but a lot of reviews begin to sound the same (full of compliments) and I want to share my experience to help you make the best decision on what matters. During our engagement session, Sam and Bethany helped a lot with getting us comfortable and posing for pictures. They were especially great at getting my husband who is reserved and camera shy to loosen up. This is an important factor when deciding on photographers, another reason why reviews are so important because you can share in other's experiences. Sam and Bethany could make a bus bench the most romantic spot (if that's what you choose). Maybe it's because they are an awesome husband and wife team, their chemistry together is infectious. It really allows you to be affectionate and completely silly without being self-conscious of a camera around you. I just have to add that we were at our 2nd location and SIX HOURS into our engagement shoot when I fell into the ocean water. Knowing that we had already taken so many amazing photos they still offered to meet us on another day so that we could continue to the other locations we discussed. I felt this was extremely generous with their time and showed me how completely dedicated they were to getting the shots that we wanted. On our wedding day they worked seamlessly with all our other vendors. They were able to capture moments that I wouldn't have thought to request or details you don't think are important.
