We just finished a project with AKM Drywall, our second time working with them in the last couple of years. Eduardo is a genius with drywall, but has many other skills and installed baseboards, replaced a countertop in a small second kitchen, installed a new vanity, and other tasks. AKM does everything with great attention to keeping nearby spaces taped off or covered for protection, and neatens things up at the end of each day. Eduardo was great. He takes a lot of pride in his work and is very good at what he does! We had a leak in our ceiling near the kitchen that left a gaping hole in the ceiling. He was extremely professional and did a great job creating a workspace that protected the furniture and appliances nearby from any contamination. He also protected our hardwood floors. As far as his work goes, he did it right. There was difficult portion near the fridge which had molding close to the joint. Eduardo took no shortcuts and made the job look seamless. Not to mention, he matched the texture on the ceiling amazingly well. That's an art in and of itself. Also, his office was very fast with communication and quick to get us a quote. He was able to start within a week of us accepting the quote. In short, Eduardo is an honest hard worker who will get the job done right. He's also just a nice caring guy. I'm completely baffled and disappointed by what has transpired. We were scheduled for AKM Drywall to come out for a drywall repair at our home around noon 12 pm today September 7th. I confirmed the appointment last week in writing and again this morning. However, it's currently 2 pm and they're a complete no-show. I've texted them and left voicemail messages, but no response whatsoever. I called Marcela, the owner, and she sent me an automatic reply saying she's "in a meeting, can't talk right now." I texted her back right away asking for updates. The texting shows my reply was read at 1:02 pm and still no answer. No response whatsoever from her or the technician. I have mentioned in the messages that I left that I'd be OK if the worker is running behind or if the project is gonna take longer, but I'd like to have an idea of what to expect, rather than complete radio silence. I had to move around my meetings and other obligations for this appointment today. So needless to say, this is unacceptable and disrespectful. I'm giving them 1 star for answering my questions about the project last Wednesday/Thursday. I believe few people would welcome disrespect and lack of communication, no matter how good the work may be, which is impossible to assess given a no-show. read more

First, Eduardo came out to fix a cracked ceiling and completed the job very well at a very affordable price. Decided to ask for a quote to hang double-layer of drywall with Green Glue. One thing did almost go wrong, but when I pointed it out, AKM took care of it and installed the GreenGlue to specification. The drywall finish and texturing were matched to existing walls and blend seamlessly. Even the wobbly ceiling joists couldn't ruin their work. I highly recommend AKM. read more

He did an excellent job repairing cracks in my drywall, a hole in my drywall and patching my drywall underneath our utility sink. He was able to match the paint, retexture the walls and blend it all in so it looked like nothing happened. We also called him back to fix our air exchange while he repaired the drywall underneath our sink. Thank you so much for fixing my walls and large air exchange cover! AKM drywall did an amazing job skimming about ~1200 sq ft of ceilings for us after we removed the popcorn coating. He even re-did a patch after our roof leaked and ruined some of the work. Eduardo and his team have been to our home for three remodeling projects and will be coming back to do more work. Eduardo does excellent work, is very conscientious, and was the lowest price on the first job I had him bid. He has also been able to complete work that is outside the scope of drywall work, which helps tremendously so that I don't have to hire additional contractors. While there have been a few times when he has been later than planned getting to our house, (as the one negative review here complained about) the work has always been completed as scheduled.
