Our home had a large growing crack in the wall due to the house shifting and settling. We could not address this type of drywall issue ourselves. We needed the drywall repair, wall spackled, texturized, and painted. While it wasn't the biggest job in the world, we were hoping someone would take on the job. We called 8 different providers, and only 2 said they would do the work. Ultimately we chose King's based on their reviews. Scheduling was easy, they were responsive, booking dates were reasonable, and the team was friendly. Receiving the estimate was simple. The crews who came in were on time, friendly, and respectful of our home.. They finished quickly. All of this feedback would illicit a 5-star review. However, the cost of the work was MUCH MORE than we expected, but we wanted the project completed. The office team was able to offer a minor discount, though it was still very expensive. Our family has brought in King's on two separate instances. The first was to repair the ceiling from some water damage, and the second was to repair our walls after some electrical work. In both cases I could not speak more highly of this company. They are responsive, reasonably priced, and do great work. They show up exactly when they say they will and Hailey does a great job communicating with you about everything you can expect. On the second job, I requested they limit the amount of dust to the one room and they went above and beyond in covering the floors and countertops as well as putting a barrier in the doorway and then cleaning up after they left. These guys are top-notch. I had them skim an entire house that had been covered in some of the worse texture you'd ever seen alongside a bunch of miscellaneous other drywall repairs that needed to be done after I'd redone a bunch of the electrical in my house. Their pricing isn't cheap but you don't feel like you're getting taken for a ride either - something rare these days in Seattle. The owners of the company also actually do some of the work which is great to see in a market dominated by contractors looking to woo you with a sales pitch, and then immediately subcontract out your job to a team of other people they may not even have a relationship with (while they skim 50-75% off the top). They also own their work and stand behind the quality. I had some ugly shadows on a couple high walls (which to be fair to Kings were difficult to see until after I installed overhead lighting after they'd finished their initial work), and they came back out almost a year later to completely fix it - and they even paid for a painter to come paint the redone skim job. read more

The installer showed up earlier than scheduled which was good as I had errands to run. He had to leave because he left his screwgun on an earlier job, otherwise I would give t stars. I had a toilet leak upstairs and water got under the tile floor. Other than ripping up the floor, the water mitigation company opened a hold on the garage ceiling to dry out with a dehumidifier. Paul Davis Restoration recommended Kings Drywall to fix the ceiling. Kings did a great job taping with fireproof tape. It was a quick job with no painting required. read more

I recently had a flood in my basement and washroom which ended up taking out a fair amount of my drywall with it. I had 3 separate quotes and King's came in right about the middle. However, they were willing to install some framing for my basement when others weren't. As such, I decided to go with them. I also felt the most comfortable with their company. Scheduling was a breeze! Hailey (their Office Manager) contacted me and told me they'd be out on a specific day. I was quite skeptical that they'd actually live up to their word because of poor experiences with several Contractors. I'm happy to say that they did indeed live up to their word. They were clean, efficient and very quick. The first day they came and replaced the drywall which was super quick. 2 days later they came out and did taping, mudding & texturing. They were very professional & cleaned up after themselves not leaving anything lying around. Later, after installing carpet, I noticed that my Carpet installer cracked through some of the drywall in my basement. I spoke to Hailey who stated the Steve would come out and take a look. I initially thought they were to blame for not properly installing the framing. However, after Steve came out to assess the damage he told me what they did and why (in short, they didn't want to damage the drain curtain I had installed). Steve was apologetic for not telling me earlier but it was not a big deal at all. After talking with him, I better understood and agreed with the route they chose. Steve went back and had a quote out to me later that day. They then scheduled someone to come and replace the drywall & did taping, mudding & texture that same day. The outcome was perfect!! King's Drywall could not have been more efficient or professional. If I ever need to replace Drywall again, they will be the only company I call!! Thanks King's Drywall!! They provided the lowest quote and I was otherwise forced to use them for our drywall repair. I understand that it's a family run business but it was extremely difficult to do business with them on a basic level. If it were up to me, I would have gone with another business weeks ago. For example, when I had to cancel a repair 24 hours prior to the scheduled time due to the leak returning, I left a message saying I needed to reschedule. They didn't get the message and showed up anyway. In the course of attempting to do business with them, I have left about 15 messages with ZERO of them being returned. The only time anything got done was when I would keep calling until someone picked up. Even then it was a crapshoot since they would tell me I needed to speak with someone else and call me back (which never happened) or they had no idea what I was talking about despite having gone through all this with one of their folks several days ago. They have about 4 different contact numbers listed on their website and they seem to expect the customer to know who does what in their business. I don't care that I called the wrong guy. just freaking call me to put me on the goddamn schedule! For such a small operation, they have the bureaucracy and ineffectiveness of a government office. No one knows what the hell is going on and they have the memory retention of goldfish. At least have a customer database on Google docs or something. To them, I am a faceless customer yet I am supposed to know that Randy does X, Melissa does X, and blah blah in order to get something done. My one-star review remains unless the repair is immaculate. Even then, it will only go to a max of 3. UPDATE: The repair looks fine. Unfortunately, it doesn't include paint matching and the texture spray was haphazard even for such a small area. One extra star. read more
