I've been coming here for years. I like how they are a family owned and operated business. Fred and his sons, Jake and Jason always take care of me. I drove from California to Akron and my Camry had some kind of oil leak and a coolant leak. I took it in and they said I would need to leave it overnight. No problem, because they gave me a loaner car to drive for the evening and next day, while I waited for my car to get fixed! I was very impressed by that! They also have real smart mechanics that know what they are doing. I felt that my old Toyota was in good hands. If you want quality, honest service, this is the place to go! I love Akron! read more

We had our car towed here on AAA recommendation. Took forever to get our car back and every time I called there was a different excuse. The reason that I am unhappy is that they installed a brand new battery, The battery lasted one month. Took the car back took them and had to leave car for another few days because they thought it was a parasitic drain. It was a bad battery. Did not replace the battery but pro rated the battery and we bought another. well that battery lasted one month and same thing happened. After jumping the car to get started for a week or two final took to a nissan dealer to see if it was a parasitic drain. Guess what it was a battery. Had nissan put a REAL battery in and have had no problems. These people use batteries with no names on them and lord knows where they get them. Be wary if you need a battery from them. Your wasting time and money. read more

I was referred here by AAA, I moved here from Phoenix and really didn't know anything about the area. My Traverse needed a fuel pump. I ended up paying over $2000 for them needing to replace wires that were no good. After over 2 weeks and $2000. I had to have my vehicle towed home and had just about every part with the exception of the engine replaced I went back to the fuel pump. The wires that I paid to have replaced were not! I will be going to small claims court. All this cause they are cheaters!! read more

Avoid this place at all cost. They will over charge you and try to rip you off. Came in with a bad fuse, which prevented a few things from working. Instead they tried to charge me to fix breaks, lights and all kind of things. Bottom line is they are dishonest. read more

I got my car fixed. I needed one lug nut. They replaced all the lug nuts for $130 without informing me. When I picked my car there was no verbal summary. It was just" here's the price, here's the receipt, here's your car " No Thank you for your business, Thanks for choosing us.. Nothing. It's just funny how everyone is always soooo friendly before they get your money and the work is done and they're bag is secured it's nothing but dryness. It's horrible. I left feeling uneasy and very unsatisfied oh and the whole job was a dollars under $3,000 and didn't even get a" Thanks for choosing us " that goes a long way. I'm a female and at the start of everything I felt taken care of and I felt they were going to do great, but leaving I felt like it didn't matter if I liked the busy or work. They got their money. Dropped my daughter's car off for some brake work. They fixed it in just a few hours, washed it, and vacuumed it out - I did not expect that. I found them very courteous and caring. I would recommend them to a friend without hesitation. read more

No STAR....I took my truck there to get my check engine light fix. Then they told me my brakes line needed replacing. I asked them to put freon in & they said that needed fixing to & it would cost me an addition $1,200. So I declined fixing that bc it was in December. When I got my truck back, the check engine light was still on & when I question that I was told "sometimes that happens" yet when they took my truck to get an E CHECK they came back with a 2yr WAIVER. I also asked them why did my NAPA credit card only gave me 6 mths to pay off the card card & they said "those where the terms of the credit card comp." I called the company bc I have 2 other card through them & they denied that claim. Moving forward I took my truck to another company & had the check engine light checked again & the same codes they claimed they fixed are not fixed. I also had freon put in & notice it was all coming out. After taking a closer look at the hose you can tell it was "CUT". This was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I had my truck towed there for a diagnostic test and possible repair. They had my truck for 9 days before they even did a diagnostic on it. When they called me they told me they had to drive my truck as part of the diagnostic test and since it had a flat I needed to buy a tire, they charged me 250 dollars for a tire, I asked if I could just bring a tire down there or come get the rim and get a tire put on and they told me no. Then it was another 4 days before they called me to tell me what they "thought" was wrong with it and quoted me 900 dollars, I told them to fix, at which time he told me he needed a deposit of at least half to even start the repairs. I paid him 4 hours later. 2 days later he called me to tell me the issues wasn't what they originally thought and it would now be 1200 dollars to fix. Understandably I was frustrated and told him not to fix it I was coming to get it, he then became angry with me and started yelling at me asking how stupid could I be, that he was calling me with good news and that I needed to let his mechanic finish the work he started. After arguing on the phone for 30 minutes I allowed them to finish the work. It ended up costing just shy of 1000 dollars. When I went to pick the truck up Jason was very rude and disrespectful towards me. I will never do business with this place again and I advise anyone who sees this to avoid this business as well read more

I've been going to Akron Auto Clinic for a couple years, and I trust them completely. It's apparent that everyone that works there really loves what they do. I don't know much about cars, but every time I leave I know a little more because they take the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions (even the dumb ones). Their communication is superb. After they figure out what's wrong with my car, they call and go over everything that needs done and the charges associated with repairs and/or provide a detailed estimate. I would gladly pay a premium for their excellent service, but their prices are right in line with other repair shops (actually, I'm pretty sure they're lower). I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this business. This is a prime example of why I love small business. My business is important to them and that shows. They always consider my best interest, not profit. I had a 17 year old car that they would regularly do repairs on, but recently it died for good so I bought a Ford Certified Pre Owned vehicle. My new car was having problems right after I bought it and, after going round and round with the service department at the dealer, I brought it into Akron Auto Clinic. Within two minutes, they knew what was wrong with my car and also identified a couple other problems. They knew that any repairs that needed made would have to go through the dealer, so they really had nothing to gain from me (except my trust, which I think is very important to them). I used the information they gave me to get the dealer to fix all of the problems. I love my new car, but I wish I could take it to Akron Auto Clinic for all of its repairs. read more

Great service. They are priced well and will go above and beyond to take care of you. They offer free loaner cars which is awesome. They inspected my car and let me know what was wrong with it and worked with me to find the most affordable option to repair, I drive a European vehicle so it is not always easy/cheap to repair. 3 hours later my problem is fixed. This is one of the best mechanics I've been to, everyone is friendly and they are incredibly thorough!! Don't hesitate to bring your car here, these guys know what they are doing. read more

I had been dealing with this shop for all of my 3 vehicles and the first couple times they exceeded my expectations. After they realized that I was a repeat and loyal customer they raised the prices and made my vehicle the least of their priorities. Jason told me to bring it in that day they had an opening and then it was 7 days before they even started to work on my truck. $2300 later and two weeks they call to tell me it is fixed to come pick it up. I get there and the same problem I took it in for was still occurring plus other problems that it didn't have when I dropped it off. Of course I had to argue and fight to get them to look at it AGAIN... Another $800 and the original problem got taken care of but they deny hearing the new noises that started after they worked on it. It was plain as day I honestly believe a deaf person could have heard it. I will never give these crooks another penny of my hard earned money for their circus clown operation. I took my car here and asked how much it would be for a 2016 Ford fusion rear brakes and rotors and an oil change I was told $306 out the door with a 10% military discount when all is said and done without the oil change it ended up being 399 95 which in and of itself is a hokie price. I gasped and he told me that my rear rim lug nuts were swollen I've never heard of such a thing in my life he told me that if they went back on they might not come off so 70 something dollars later plus labor I ended up at 39995 without an oil change and the only nuts that are swollen are mine that got kicked. He also told me that I needed a new battery as soon as I left there I went to one of the large chains who check the battery out just a month ago and said it was okay same thing with today batteries fine he was in the optimal range did not need to be replaced. I do not recommend these guys I've never had anybody come in so high over a quote and keep in mind I told him not to do the oil change in my whole life and I'm 53. I went to these guys because wnir radio 100.1 FM runs their commercials all the time and people on her say they're great and they're honest bullsh*t. If anyone else has used them and has good reviews and there are good reviews on other sites probably here to I guess I just look like a sucker I did complain about the price but they didn't do anything so here it is a bad review good luck if you use them. read more

Wow - can't say enough about these guys. My car isn't even fixed yet and I'm leaving a 5 star review!!! Really nice folks and easy to deal with. Had to arrange a tow and the truck was here within a half hour (how many times has that happened to you???). Okay - the car is fixed. $100 out the door which included the $50 for the tow. Seem like great guys and I will heatedly recommend them and use them again myself. read more

took my Honda here when I was new to the area. Just wanted the alternator replace and I didn't have a space to do it myself. Once that was 'fixed', mysteriously the serpentine belt broke. Then guess what? my pistons were misfiring...took it to a Master Honda mechanic at Stark State College. He said,' whoever did this to your car had NO idea what they were doing at all. They f-d up your engine so bad, it'd take more money to figure it out than to drop a brand new engine in it!' DON'T EVER USE THESE JACKASSES!!!! read more

Had a 2006 Cobalt SS break down in Akron and had it towed to AAC. They kept me informed on the repair progress without me having to badger them. Work looked correct and done the way it should have been. Quoted price was fairly close to final cost. Fred and the guys are good technicians and I would recommend them. read more
