I don't normally write reviews but there are bunch of negative reviews on here and I'm not sure why. I had to get an MRI here. From scheduling online, to appointment time everything was smooth and easy. Easy location to find/park at. You have access right from the parking lot and it's not a maze to get in or find their suite. Everything is clean and organized. Staff was super friendly and made everything else an easy process. I had my first MRI experience at Akumin Coconut Creek, and overall, I was pleased with the experience. The location is very convenient and close to my home, and there is a large parking lot, which is definitely a plus. The facility was clean, and the staff was polite and welcoming. One thing I didn't like was the amount of paperwork. I completed a long questionnaire online beforehand, but then had to fill out essentially the same information again on paper when I arrived. I also found the cost quite high. Even with insurance, I had to pay $236.87 out of pocket, which felt expensive for an MRI. The MRI technologist who assisted me was wonderful. Since this was my first MRI, he explained everything carefully so I would know what to expect and wouldn't feel scared. He gave me headphones with relaxing music, covered me with a blanket, and was very attentive and professional throughout the entire procedure. I really appreciated his kindness and care it made my first MRI experience much easier. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and cared for. A small issue was the smell of the sheets/blankets. They had that unpleasant smell of laundry that was folded while still slightly damp and didn't dry properly. And yes, the MRI machine itself is VERY loud and makes some sudden, sharp noises. For a first-time patient, it can definitely be a little intimidating! Helpful tip: If you wear clothing that is completely free of metal, zippers, snaps, buttons, or other metal parts, you may be able to stay in your own clothes instead of changing into a gown. Definitely ask the staff when you arrive! Overall, I appreciated the professionalism of the staff and especially the care I received from the MRI technologist. Despite a few issues, I'm grateful for how comfortable he made my first MRI experience. read more

I only went for an x-ray, Maria was absolutely wonderful The thing I had a problem with 10 pages of paper we need to fill out when we get there. It's a waste of all be online. Trees that are getting thrown in the garbage and all that time wasted fill filling out those forms. Elderly people that are mostly there for diagnostic tests have difficulty filling out the paperwork. Really you should put it online otherwise you would've gotten a much better review The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful, kind and helpful everything was good, except filling out that book of that is wasted and going in the garbage pail after I sent it in the computer!!!! read more

I had an appointment today for a MRI. the office is very nice and clean.In fact , I like this one better than coral springs , but there's nothing wrong with coral springs. Today I had my MRI done by Rico , who was very nice, very professional, yet had a great sense of humor! They put headphones on where you listen to Beautiful music.I was chilly , so rico gave me a blanket, he was very good at putting the needle in for the die.They have to put in and everything went well. The ladies at the front desk are also very nice! The MRI is not a big deal, should someone out there reading this need one. I have no photographs. read more

I had a great experience at this Akumin location. It's worth it to drive a little farther. What a difference in office efficiency from one location to another. The office staff was pleasant and greeted me with respect. Honored my scheduled appointment time. So efficient with the sign in to the Xray images.. I was out the door within 15 minutes. I definitely will be having ALL of imaging tests in the future done at this location. They are fast, efficient and reliable. read more

Get your imaging done anywhere else. These people are bush league, amateurs. They just stole three hours of my life. At the check in desk I was told, "we don't have your dose". Which was explained as the dye needed for my MRI was not in stock. When I explained that I am disabled and don't drive, so I took a $35 Lyft, I was told once again that "we don't have your dose". At this point she had adopted a deer in the headlights look, and was determined to get rid of me. Hopefully at the end of my life, I will be able to negotiate an extra three hours to make up for the time that these feckless imbeciles stole from me today. read more

I went to the office to schedule an appointment in person. They asked if I was a new patient, and when I said yes, they told me to call and make the appointment myself because it was easier for them. I found this very unprofessional and inconvenient, especially since I was already there. read more

I had a Scan done at the Coconut Creek location. I will not be going back there for any further Scans even though it is 5 minutes from my house. When you walk into an establishment, the people at the front desk set the tone and impression of that experience. These ladies at the front desk were very dismissive and un-attentive, never any eye contact when I walked in and greeted them and just pointing to signs when I asked for directions. I had a great experience at this Akumin location. The ladies at the reception were wonderful - one gal was even able to get me a lower co-pay! Who does that? People who care about their patients. I had an Ultrasound and a CT Scan there. Very comfortable, not much of a wait and I'll be going back for an MRI. Highly recommend. read more

Literally was on the phone for over 8 minutes trying to spell out my last name. I spelled it 6-7 times. Eventually told them to forget it and I would go somewhere else and they responded with "okay". Didn't get any further than spelling my name. read more

I arrived at 1:30 for a 2:45 appt. I was told to fill out paperwork. When I approached to return paperwork I was told that it was too late to take me....they continued to let all kinds of other people in but, would not take me! I asked for the manager but, was told she wasn't in. Then they told me I could come back another day at 9:00 pm. What is wrong with this picture????? read more

I needed aCT scan. I called and have Rain all my info. I gave her my insurance info. She told me what my copay would be. She told me I had to wait a week to clear with the insurance I have! I went the appointment today, and was told they don't take my insurance and they were sorry!!! My appointment with my doctor is next week! Now I have to rebook somewhere else!!!! The most UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT and RUDEST individuals I've ever encountered in a healthcare facility. Let's start with Elizabeth at the front desk who can't function without nicotine. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt until she started talking from both sides of her mouth. My father was scheduled for a 10:30 MRI, we arrived at 10am only to wait HOURS due to another patient who was on STANDBY with no appointment because she scheduled at another facility that couldn't accommodate her test. Unbeknownst to Elizabeth the entire waiting room heard her conversation with said patient, and we ALL heard "Liz" inform the patient that she couldn't put her before patients with appointments. That patient then demanded to speak with a "Supervisor". Long story short, the so called Supervisor came in and ensured the patient that she would be next and by doing so pushed all other MRI patients behind. When asked for an ETA after nearly an hour had passed, we were told that they were "running behind", but no one thought to inform waiting patients. After waiting for another half hour, i approached the desk again to inquire about an ETA only to be met with rolling eyes (Elizabeth) who went to the back to get her "Supervisor". The Supervisor never came out, instead another RUDE individual with no name badge hiding behind a mask(photo attached) emerged from the back saying that the "supervisor" was in an interview. There's more to this fiasco, but I find myself getting angry all over again so the moral of the story is DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!! I've had great experiences at Akumin in Fort Lauderdale near Holy Cross Hospital, Coconut Creek needs a new staff starting with the "Supervisor"! read more

I wish the ZERO star or negative star option was available. AVOID THIS PLACE!! They use an offshore call center to book the appointment. This offshore center gets information wrong and when you show up for an appointment and are told to go home if their "protocols" aren't met. Seriously? you sent my 88 yo mom home after making her wait 1 hour because YOUR CALL center got the information wrong. Nanette the manager is ZERO help. Fun fact: The call center originally wanted to offer a same day appointment for 2:00pm at 1:45pm giving us 15 minutes to get to the center. Ridiculous. This place makes RAYUS look amazing. read more

The appointment went fine. Got my x-ray done no problem. Getting them to fax the results to the Dr. office is a completely different story. The tests were done in July. I called the Dr. office because I haven't heard back for a follow up appointment. They said they are still waiting for the results of the tests. I called the lab they said they sent it on the 26th of July. I asked them to resend the results. They said they would. Again the Dr. office received nothing. Called again 2 days later still no labs. Called again yesterday still no results. called again today still no results. Now I am being told to go into any office with my ID and they will hand them to me over the counter. Lets see how long this takes. read more

I write this as I sit in the lobby full of angry people . First : Let's just start with the staff . -Inattentive -RUDE -Demanding -Unorganized Haitian Girl in the front with short hair calls me up to give insurance info etc an had the audacity to tell me to wait and point her finger at me as I approached the desk so that she could attend to a personal phone call ... Also told an elderly woman to go away after she was inquiring about her appointment. Second : they tell you to remain 6 ft apart but yet the lobby's is so full of people that others and myself included had to stand while waiting for our name to be called to maintain that distance because seat are set up so close to one another Third : The walls of the building themselves are questionable full of holes and chipping paint . Fourth : They have one tiny little bathroom that they put right next to a chair for people to wait it literally echos as you "do your thing". Lastly , I had an appointment scheduled for 11 AM It's now 11:45 and I still have not been seen . I will make sure to let my primary doctor know that they will need to refer me to a different office or I'll just find one on my own . ALSO THEY DO NOT ENFORCE WEARING A MASK ALTHOUGH THEY MAKE YOU SIGN DOCUMENTATION AND HAVE POSTERS ALL OVER ASKING YOU TO WEAR ONE . STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ! read more

I was here last week for an MRI. I chose this location because it is located close to my home. I walk in and I'm hastily greeted by someone that tells me to sign in over there.... no hello, no welcome.... nothing! So I step to the right and sign in on a clip board. I arrived 30 minutes before my Appointment so I can fill out the usual paperwork. I notice people being called up that arrived after me. So, I go up to the deadline and I'm told that my name was called once. Now this lady that's calling our names isn't in plain view, she's sitting behind a wall / cubical thing that you'll see once you walk in. So, I finally get my paperwork completed and I'm told that the MRI machine is or something is running late! Ugh! My MRI tech in the other hand was awesome. He was very polite, explained everything to me and no complaints there. The front desk folks need a lesson in customer service. read more

Came in here today... crying, even though hurt... took an Uber... bc, I don't think I am able to drive such a long distance and between Mikal & especially Darlene.. they were able to soothe me and take care of me.. Akumin may have horrible reviews tho, for me- they were perfect. And?! Yes- it took forever for them to call me back... in fact, the Boca office called me back and hung up one second and the Coral Springs never called me back... so, that is why I took an Uber here and coconut creek seems to be where it's at... Darlene is seriously an amazing asset to this place and they are lucky to have her on staff! read more

Had to wait here for an hour since they skipped me on the list just for them to tell me I'd have to come back for an appointment. After telling them that wasn't okay they fit me in before they closed and conducted an ultrasound. Before I went through with it I had them confirm the price with me and they said it was $50. Well it wasn't, and they charged me $149. When I called to discuss it I had to wait 2 hours for their billing department just for them to hang up the phone on me and tell me that the amount was final. Made two appointments for my dad. One bloodwork one MRI. The first was scheduled at 12:30 and the second at 2:00. So we get here at 12:00 did all the paperwork and waited till 1:30 with no one calling his name. When I asked what was going on they said his appointment wasn't until 2:15. This is a fasting MRI so they made my diabetic dad fast from 10 am for to reason. They wasted 2 hours of his and my time. Have had to cancel Ortho Dr Appointment several times due to the fact that they have not gotten around to reading the MRI and producing a report which is still not done 2days after the promise date. My Dr. sent me here for a CT test. I was greeted as I walked and was told to sign in and take a seat. The waiting time before someone called me was way to long at least 45 minutes. The test itself was easy and the technician was professional although no personalty. I was told the results would be sent to my Dr. within a few days. Well we didn't get them until almost two weeks later and I had to keep calling them and was kept waiting on hold for 20-20 minutes. Hopefully won't be seeing them again. read more

Absolutely appalling the level of rudeness I encountered during my first and last visit to this location. I was informed upon arrival that my appointment had been moved to 2:45 from 1:30 without me being informed bc they didn't have any of my information to contact me. This is after I called the afternoon before my appointment to verify my appointment time. I spent 20 minutes on the phone setting this appointment bc the man setting the appointment took all my information..... I was also informed by the woman that I look really big for being 8 weeks pregnant. beware they will zap you with radiation and then won't review your films. 2 weeks is too long to post pictures to the portal but no one has read them. imagine seeing a lung catscan with 2 area circled on the lungs but no report. I'm a breast cancer survivor who's found a lump and I try to make an appointment today & yesterday, the men that do the appointment setting are so disrespectful... Terrible experience. If it was not for the MRI tech, it would have been a total disaster. Front desk girls are rude and prejudice against English speaking patients. My wife was with me and they told her she can't be in the lobby with me even though I need her for my stability and walking. There was a Spanish speaking couple in there and the front desk girl told me they have to stay they don't speak English, really? Only went there because it was close, would never go there again. They need training and because I speak the language, does not give you the right to think my health is not as important as anyone else. Short version: Booking and confirming staff need to be better educated on what they can and can't perform, also a little compassion and knowledge from the front desk wouldn't hurt. Wasted half a day to be told they couldn't perform my test. ------------- I could probably write a whole chapter of how bad my experience was. After calling several times to attempt to make an appointment for about an hour I finally got scheduled for a test two weeks out 30-35 min from my area because that's all they had available which is fine. I gave the person all of the test information that I needed done (code included from the actual doctors note) she confirmed they could perform this test and so I booked my appointment. A couple of days before the test I called the same location to confirm that I was indeed booked and they could perform the specific test to which they confirmed they could. The day of my appointment I arrive 15 min before just like they had instructed me, signed in and grabbed a clipboard to fill out all of my information, medical history and waited to be called, once called they collected my clipboard and payment (Self pay) and asked me to sit and about five minutes later another front desk person calls me up and informs me that they can not perform the test and that I needed to head over to an ER Outpatient location to get it done under a Cardiologist supervision. I informed her that I had called twice before to confirm they could indeed perform this test and they had confirmed they could and I could not just "Go to an ER" as I had no insurance, I was a self pay and I didn't even know how to go about finding an "ER outpatient" establishment so that I could get prices of what the test would cost. She motioned to the side almost waving me off to point to "somewhere" and said they didn't know they could not perform the test until they saw the actual doctors test note and that that's all they could do and told me to check out the place next to them. I asked for my payment back and walked out. Needless to say I would avoid this location if I were you, or you'll run the risk of wasting half a day time and recourses. Having some front desk staff that has knowledge on what they can and cant do as well as some sort of compassion to your customers doesn't hurt your business. read more
