I've been here several times. I've even left a review before how great the service was. I can't say the same now. The ladies at the front desk were very kind. They even let me come in early for my appointment, but then there was Lynn miss no personality.... I understand she was doing her job, but she insisted that I did not pay last time and I explained to her multiple times that I was not charged. She act like I walked in and ran out and stoled the services, even after she spoke to the manager, she still came back and used the same terminology because he didn't pay last time. I don't think she is very customer friendly. But I must say she did help me with my paperwork because I didn't have my glasses. But she had a very dry attitude and the other 2 ladies smiled and was friendly. 7/7/26 2pm one of the ladies upfront name was Maya very friendly and professional. The CT technician's name was JP. He was very professional and kind as well. I don't have the other ladies name but she's the one that was able to reschedule my appointment to make it earlier. This MRI location is easy to find next to the WaWa and I-95. Parking was simple with a few handicap spaces. Upon entering it was controlled chaos with fifteen impatient people waiting for the next step of the application process. I have been here a few times in the past but prefer the "Open MRI" machine since I've had issues with the thirty year old tiny hole version and had to reset another appointment. The process was simple: 1. Sign your name on the chart 2. Fill out stats and waiver 3. Wait for your name called 4. Meet with intake staff 5. Sit and stay very silent 6. Name called and enter 7. Secure personal items 8. MRI conducted for 15 min 9. Obtain disc of MRI 10. Leave quickly My MRI was promptly conducted on my appointment time. The tech Melissa was so nice and explained each step of the MRI process which went flawlessly while listening to 80s rock which produced a calming effect when in the tube. It was concluded in fifteen minutes and was provided a disc of the MRI to take with me to the follow up appointment with my ortho. read more

Dana Cook (reception desk) is outstanding and did a number of tasks to get me taken care of with a "stat" ultrasound: * Appointment: I went to the wrong office. She was able to get me in to get the procedure done. * Check-In and Forms: as the time got closer to get my ultrasound done, she politely called me over. She highlighted the areas in the form that needed to be signed. * Procedure: quick and effective. Very busy office and staff works hard. As of April 2026, they are going through a big re-model and so the space is tight. read more

Why is it you speak to one Akumin facility and they don't have the same information as another Akumin. These facilities are at a level of incompetence that makes it hard to want to even see a Dr. I just spoke to someone at this facility, asked to speak to a Supervisor, he left me on hold long enough to know I would hang up. I will not go through Akumin anymore. read more

Oh yes ,if you need an asap ct scan this is the place to go to . Most places have a huge wait line but this location is the gem of akumin . Great parking , technicians super pleasant as well as staff. read more

First time at this location. Usually go to plantation. I am a nurse and i have never understood what is up with all these bad reviews on akumin, all locations. People in general just don't understand that it takes time to get tests done. It's not fast food! It's 90% of the time it's the fault of the patients in front of u not the technicians. I had a great experience today here. The intake person who was seated far left when you walk up was so so nice. I was afraid i was going to throw up and she really helped. Then the man who was running the CT tests ( can't remember his name sorry) was very efficient at what he does. 1 stick for my IV. Painless and quick. 5 star rating all day. read more

This place is terrible. Came last week for an mri. Appt not on time but about 15 minutes late. When I got the image and report ( I had to go back and get it ). I took it to my doctor. He brought the image up in his office and was going over everything with me. Whoever read the report (from Akumin) made three mistakes! Two were critical. My doctor couldn't believe it. He had another doctor look to be sure. I have a herniated disc that was reported to be the L4-L5. Wrong! There is a plate with screws there. The herniated disc is the L3-L4. Also reported that I had moderate scoliosis. After reviewing by my doctor and colleague they said I had a severe case. My doctor said he was calling to talk to them about the report but I haven't been back to his office yet to find out what they said. I sit here today waiting for an X-ray. Appt was scheduled for 9:50. Got here at 9:30. At 10:30 I asked the front desk how much longer. She said that "scheduling " triple booked appts and I could be waiting another 30 min or longer. So aggravating, our time is valuable too! I will avoid coming here at all cost in the future. read more

Had to do an MRI and the order was marked STAT as I was recently in the ER. The tech was great but the front area and staff looked very ghetto. Dressed as if going to Walmart not working in a healthcare setting. Days later I had to keep calling to request the results faxed to my Dr. I had to call again to have results faxed and also requested it emailed to me so I can give it to my Dr. neither was done. Terrible experience, completed all paperwork online and uploaded all information required. They ask for all the info again while there and had to have them check their computer to see the info. Waited one hour for a simple chest x-ray and finally gave up. When I mentioned I'd have to cancel for the long wait no apologies just said ok. what a waste of time. read more

This place don't care if you have to take off from work or not, I had rescheduled my appointment twice because the x-ray person is MIA! The last time they told me this after I checked in and filled the paperwork, not even the decency to call you and tell you. Never got appt, despite calling three different locations. Have NO IDEA where good reviews come from, I suspect they pay staff to make them for xtra income. The people who answer phone are both ignorant and nearly illiterate as well as barely able to speak English. Each time I called I had to spell thoracic and lumbar. After 15 minutes of labored attempts to register my info, I would be disconnected and forced to call back. I gave up. I needed a protein scoring exam , my doctor set me up with Akumin in Oakland park, they called me 10 x prior to exam, asked me repeatedly not to be late, to be early , I got there at 2 pm for a 2:45 pm test and waited over two hours , this place sucks , people low class , I am leaving . Wow! Today I was wowed with a very positive experience at Acumen Diagnostics. The 2 ladies at checkin were friendly, professional, efficient and overall delightful. Then I met Hensy the Technician who is perfectly suited for the job. I am a bit claustrophobic and he got me to calm down, explained the entire process and made me comfortable. He kept me informed of what was happening throughout the imaging in terms of timing and kept my head in the game. It was really tough for me but this team handled me successfully. If you need an MRI they have an open unit so one is not stuck in the tube.I would encourage you to go here, it's conveniently located in central Broward in FLL just west of 95. read more

This is the worst imaging facility!! Do not go!!! I had a CT Scan done and I was told it was going to be 3 to 4 days to get the result. I called a number of times since the 4th day and I get the same response that the radiologist report is not available yet. It's been 7 days today and still no report released. Now the person I spoke to said that she will escalate to the case manager. Well then why didn't they do this in the first place?? On June 20, 2023, I had a Chest X-ray at Akumim 1799 W. Oakland. On November 6, 2023, I had an appointment with my Doctor, where we were to review the results. This was five months after the X-rays. The doctor sent me for another X-ray because they never received the results. Today I called Akumim and the nice assistant on the phone told me that indeed the results were never sent to the doctor's office. I ended up wasting my time and money with my doctor because there were no X-rays results and I ended up taking a second set of X-rays. read more

The ladies at the front are about as passionate for the health and well being of a patient as a coyote after a rabbit. 1 hour behind but no call but I sit here and they are calling patients to schedule tomorrow because they now have openings ..They are so busy they had no time to call.... Not even. I asked about a co pay at scheduling and was told there is not one but I paid over $350 . This office is no better than the one on Federal . Very surprised with the professionalism at this location. I was scheduled for an "open MRI" on 9/26. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment time and checked in on an iPad. Not even 3 minutes later I was called to give my insurance, ID, pay etc. Minutes after that, I was called back for my MRI. My technician was extremely kind (I believe her name was Diane). She gave me a step by step on how long it would take and the process. I'm very claustrophobic so a simple mri is really tough for me. Diane went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and updated through the long 1 hour standstill MRI. If you don't do well in small spaces, you'll understand what I mean. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is because when I made the appointment over the phone I was told I was getting an "OPEN MRI". They need to do a better job at explaining this isn't completely open but rather "wider" than the regular machine. If you're looking for an Akumin location that will get you in and out I definitely recommend making an appointment here! read more

I had a quick and easy MRI experience here. They got me in within 24 hours, which was great since I was leaving town. Mia was great and helped me get my insurance taken care of quickly. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 is because it's such a pain to call the office when you have to wait on hold to get an operator to put you through to the correct office. read more

This place is a disaster. Where do I send my BILL for my time they made me waste. Being disabled and seeing a throng of people from my car through their window I called to ask how long the wait would be. Forget ever speaking by phone to anyone in this office. You get a call center somewhere else, if you're lucky--the wait to speak to someone was over an HOUR. They promised someone would call me back from their office. Never happened. So I rescheduled after asking the earliest time of day they ever had, to avoid a crowd of waiters, they said 7:30 a.m. At 7:30 there was already a crowd. After waiting to 7:45 to speak to someone, she told me these people were booked earlier--and first time is 7:00! AND to top it off, "Oh I was going to call all the patients getting CT scans, the person that does them is not in today." I said WHEN were you going to call? An hour after I arrived? They should pay me what they charge by the hour, for 2 hours of two wated trips. read more

PATIENTS BEWARR Think many times before making an appointment with this facility. Manager doesn't seem to care about any issues. Mia is very rude and is an incredible liar. My doctor faxed the my prescription 7 times and even spoke with them personally. The manager tol me I was going to be there no more than 1 hour and 20 minutes. I left without them doing the scan when I was there 4 1/2 hours. I will never go there again. It's not the same since Akumin took over. Got the worse experience by a lady at the counter who asked to follow the page like a kid at school, told her I just did it 2 weeks prior in the same place, she challenged me to go somewhere else if I wasn't cooperating, of course I took the challenge. The worst experience ever! Since 11:50 am until 2:05 to realize that the test couldn't be done and have to reschedule it. After 1 hour we was told that the referral was not descriptive and need the neurologist script. I was doing their job and for 5 times ask the neurologist office to send them a fax ; the faxes were sent and strangely did not receive them. Concerned I asked the neurologist office to send me by email, which she did and still have to wait to know they have received it, even I went several times to find out... their only response was .... there is nothing. They did not care at all and did not have the minimum courtesy to tell us that they already planned to reschedule it; I knew thru an expression of one of the ladies that came to help other patient outside (to whom I helped her translating), as she mentioned also that their system is not working well. I would expect that knowing the long waiting time we had, ( specially considering my husband's health) at least they should come kindly and explained us what they already knew, but never happened. I went inside... this was the tenth time to find out and finally they mentioned they have to reschedule it! Of course, we will never go back there and asked the Chen Medical to refer us to another place. Definitely was the most unprofessional, uncaring and worst experience. And when I compare the service of DCA or other facilities there is still so much to add against Akumin. They need to prepare better their inefficient and uncaring personnel. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. When I made the appointment, I was told it was for 3:30 PM. They didn't finish registering me until 4:10 PM, and told me then that my appointment was really for 4 PM. My test wasn't even started until 4:50 PM, and the technician told me that my appointment was really for 4:30 PM. I didn't get out until 5:25 PM. Go to the site on Federal Hwy, if possibl. read more

I have used Akumin for years for various types of testing and the process is smooth, almost always a reasonable wait time and quick results.
