Dr. Fallah is the real deal. He has top training in both cosmetic dentistry (i.e. how to place non-mercury amalgam fillings) *and* in toxicology (he is accredited with/affiliated with the IAOMT -- the International academy for oral medicine and toxicology). IAOMT are the folks who are chemist/dentists doing the cutting edge research into how to remove the mercury amalgam fillings *safely* and how to replace those fillings with biocompatible materials (after the patient has a Cliffords, or Biocomp test). Rubber dam, oxygen to nose, suction above and below the dam, low speed drill on the amalgam, protects self and patient during amalgam removal, etc, etc Even if you had amalgam removed long ago, Dr. Fallah knows what to do if he comes across bits that were left behind from earlier revisions. For regular work, he uses CT cone X-rays to assess (as in my case) any areas of recurrent decay or infection and whether or not any teeth need extraction. He is also expert in how and when to use ozone treatments. He is trained in how to use PRF in the case that an extraction is warranted (which improves how well and quickly the site will heal). In my experience, Dr. Fallah is not only extremely meticulous, careful and patient in his work and methods, but he is conservative in attempting to place an onlay or inlay rather than a crown whenever possible/warranted. He discusses options using photographs during the treatment so that I was able to participate and consider Dr. Fallah's recommendations along the way. He supported my fully understanding the treatments being undertaken as we proceeded. I have found Dr. Fallah not only to be extremely intelligent and highly trained/up to date, but also very patient and meticulous in his work, someone with very steady hands, and also someone who is a kind and compassionate person. What a winning combination. The work Dr. Fallah has done for me (6 teeth needed attention in a short period of time) has removed pain that had been present for more than 2 years. Another important draw for me, has been that Dr. Fallah is one of the few dentists in the country skilled at placing the most biocompatible dental material available: Diamond Crown (proprietary ingredients, but reputed to be a BPA and phenol free material based on zirconium). Unlike most dentists who advertise that they can place Diamond Crown, though, Dr. Fallah actually owns the special light recommended by Diamond Crown for curing their materials properly, and his cosmetic dentistry and IAOMT training means he fully understands both why some patients really need these materials (because overly sensitive), and why the dentist needs to follow every step of the Diamond Crown protocol; everything demanded by the manufacturer's "kit" including the use of Diamond Crown bonding materials. In my experience, many dentists cut corners with Diamond Crown due to cost or because this excellent material involves a technique-sensitive process that many lack patience or skill for. Luckily for me, Dr. Fallah has both the skill and the patience to place Diamond Crown material correctly, since I happen to be very sensitive to dental materials. Historically, I have done much better with Diamond Crown than with other materials. Dr. Fallah is even now working with the founder of Diamond Crown to test upcoming CEREC blocks for Diamond Crown. This new initiative would bring the price tag down for Diamond Crown biocompatible restorations and allow them to be placed in the same visit, making them more convenient for patients and for the dentist. My first experience with Dr. Fallah as a dentist was in 1994 when I moved to west Los Angeles from San Diego. I went to see him for a routine exam and also told him that I was suffering from a chronic ear ache. It turned out that I had a bad root canal that was done in when I was in Europe and the dentist there did not remove all the nerve pieces from the tooth roots and it had caused an infection that had expanded into my upper jaw bone and and destroyed a portion of my jaw bone. Dr. Fallah discovered that my ear ache was due to the infection caused by the tooth and not only cleaned out and fixed my tooth with a crown that I still have but he also removed all the infection and cleaned my upper jaw bone and put me on an intensive antibiotic treatment to get rid of the infection. I believe that I owe my life to him just for that. Dr. Fallah is the best. I met him at a Hal Huggins conference in Carlsbad around 2012'ish. I didn't talk to him per se, but grabbed his card because I figured if he was an outside the box doctor for being at a conference talking about the dangers of root canals and mixed metals in the mouth, I wanted him in my contacts. About 8 years later, I reached out because I knew my 3 rotten root canals needed to come out. Not a day went by I didn't think about my root canals. I was so mortified and petrified because they were my bottom front!! No one could see the black forming behind them, but I knew what was going on and knew it was going to infect my health in a very bad way one day. I was worried about how I was going to look having them pulled and replaced with implants. I did my due diligence. I knew Dr. Fallah was one of the few using zirconia instead of titanium. It took a couple more years to finally bite the financial bullet. Other than my jaw hurting from keeping it open, the whole process was uneventful. I heard the drilling, but I had zero pain during or after. I agonized for 10 years and the process was a big fat nothing burger!!! And incase you are wondering how my teeth look? FANTASTIC! I would give six stars to Dr. Fallah if I could. Originally from NY, I looked for a holistic dentist specializing in zirconium implants. I met Dr. Fallah through my sister's recommendation as a specialist for zirconium implants. I immediately liked his approach and energy. However, I had to do a bone graft, sinus lift, and gum grafts first to proceed with implants. I had a car accident as a child, and I lost five teeth and some bone on the upper jaw. The condition worsened with time, and I lost all my teeth on the upper jaw. Other dentists saw Ferrari in my mouth, but Dr. Fallah saw a difficult case that he wanted to resolve. He has been compassionate, gentle, and a man with dignity and provided me with a solid plan. I felt he cared. I like his honesty; he hadn't pushed me into any costly, unnecessary procedures. He goes the extra mile without counting the time to describe what it takes to go through a process and how long it will take to heal. As a New Yorker, I had a different experience. I'm not sure 5 stars are enough to express how pleased I am with Dr. Fallah. He was my third consult for dental problems I had been experiencing. I am 64 year old medical professional and have had A LOT of dental treatments and dentists over the years. I have never experienced anything like the care I received at Dr. Fallahs office. Both back and front office staff are AMAZING! It seems like one big happy family there. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, but also top notch professional. It seems like the perfect balance. I am very grateful to be Dr. Fallah's patient! He is a gifted and caring dentist who has the knowledge, experience, services, and latest equipment and technology to identify and heal dental problems I've had for a long time. Dr. Fallah found I had high levels of infection in my mouth, major bone loss in my jaws, and the wisdom teeth sockets hadn't healed properly when the teeth had been removed. He removed the two teeth with the root canals including safely removing an amalgam filling. He destroyed the infection in my mouth and used a substance to help regrow the bones and prevent swelling. Almost two years ago, I visited Dr. Fallah. My mouth was a mess! My health was not particularly good, and it turns out I had a mouthful of infection that probably was the cause of my questionable health. Dr. Fallah offered a variety of treatment plans, including implants, bridges, and dentures. I opted for dentures. I was a bit worried at first, because of horror stories about the pain of wearing dentures, how they were inefficient when it came to eating, poor fits, and obvious "fake" looking smiles. Well, I now have a natural smile. The dentures are well fitting, and quite functional. And, there was no pain involved. I am 66 years old and have been to many dentists in my life. I had my first cleaning at this office today and honestly, I'm so glad I found it. Jen was my hygienist and she was amazing -- super friendly, made me feel comfortable right away, and was really thorough without being rough or judgy (which is rare).
