I called Andy Liaina about cutting a few trees on our property and he came out to quote be the next day. I was shopping around and couldn't find a great price that fit my budget. However, Andy was willing to work with me and gave me the BEST quote for 6 trees to be removed and hauled away. Mr. Liaina was very professional and so was his crew. I was astonished at how fast Mr. Liaina and his crew worked. In addition, Mr. Liaina communicated with me throughout the whole process and even listened to what I wanted. Thank you for making our yard beautiful but mostly thank you for being a professional through this process. Andy is awesome. Has the right equipment to get the job done at a great price. Don't check other places because you can't do better than these guys. They trimmed 6 very tall 30'+ trees and cut another tree way back that was interfering with power lines on my neighbors property. The man doing the trimming worked very hard and efficiently. He was happy to cut three more branches for me after we thought we were done. They cleaned up so well you wouldn't have know they had been except for the great job they left behind. We recently had our trees trim by Andy and his crew. Five stars for them showing up on time, did a great job trimming an 'autograph tree', a Tuscan pine, a 'cardboard palm' brush and took out some limbs of bamboo palms (2 dead and 4 overgrown) We paid $800 for the job, not sure if it's reasonable. read more

A huge limb of a tree (practically a tree itself) fell down on my car at night and I woke up to the horror of knowing my day was not going to be a fun one !! It crashed into my front window with the windshield and dented quite a bit of my car roof. Glass was all over my driver and passenger seat. Tree trapped my car in. Why am I writing a review about this?? If I could give Andy 6 stars I would !! I called four companies - all found on Yelp and he was the only one that answered on the first call. The others called me back but it was between 1-3 hours after I called them. One other guy picked up but said he was finishing up a job and can come by this evening to take a look at the situation. Andy did the opposite - he took my situation seriously and said he was not only coming over now but was also going to bring his crew. He arrived in a timely manner. He gave us a reasonable quote (considering it was an emergency type of situation and I didn't feel he was taking advantage of my desperate situation) and immediately got 5 of his guys to work on removing the tree so that my insurance company's towing services could tow my car to the shop for assessment and repair. I called FROM all these 5 star reviews? Hindsight: most are OLD reviews. Are all these long 5stars friends or what? HOW can my experience be so DIFFERENT? READ the poor reviews too folks! WISH I HAD! He came to bid and YES, he seems a nice person and he gave a decent price BUT: RED FLAGS: 1. He answers, "Hello?" (this is not an office phone, just a guy) 2. NO ADDRESS FOR HIS BUSINESS 3. HE HAS AN ABUSE CRIMINAL RECORD. 4. Reviews say he is licensed and insured BUT when asked for credentials admitted only an excise tax license. NOT LICENSED FOR TREE TRIMMING. When my neighbor (whose yard we MUST go thru to get branches out) refused passage w/o credentials--at fIrst he said Ok, I'LL BRING THEM WHEN WE COME TO DO THE JOB. BUT then HUNG UP ON ME when I called him to say we could NOT do the job w/o my neighbors permission and he said NO because of NO CREDENTIALS shown when he came out to bid (He didn't even leave me a card). We shook on the price only--which is fine 'local style' BUT you need a contract and to trim tall trees--you need to be covered with the trimmers having insurance and being LICENSED so you don't get SUED if someone gets hurt!!! I was mad as hell at my neighbor at first--until all these red flags became quite apparent when I sat and cooled off and thought about it. I called him back and asked to RESCHEDULE until after remodel on my home was done and glass windows out of harms way (break if we tried to pull up MY side yard--they are in the way) so, #5--HE HUNG UP ON ME after he INSISTED we could do the job w/o going thru my neighbors yard (IMPOSSIBLE) and I explained my neighbors NO, and that I'd have to re-schedule AFTER my neighbor "I need to look up his license and credentials" got what he needed to say YES. TOO MANY RED FLAGS HERE FOLKS. Be wary. UPDATE: He stopped by on the scheduled day that I cancelled due to above to 'check' if I wanted...? He acted as if nothing had transpired. I was cordial but will not be calling him back. Yes he seems like a nice person...but red flags are red flags. LAST thing I need is something damaged on my neighbors place...or someone falling outta my beeg tree...:( UPDATE 25 HE WAS INTERESTED IN MY TRUCK AND KEPT ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT IT AND IT WAS NOT NOT NOT FOR SALE!!! This company did not complete the job once they were paid. Do not trust them to do what they say they will do. Detail: I called and asked for stump removal, provided a picture and asked for the stump area to be flattened with Sod placed on top. They agreed with a text saying they would do it no problem. I order to be convenient I left them their money in an envelope. They never returned to complete the job despite me calling three weeks in a row and they said they would stop by to complete three weeks in a row. They were fast but did not clean any of the saw dust, left a mess and did not complete their job. read more

A good tree service is more than just cutting and shaping trees. It is cleaning up the property after the trees have been trimmed. This is where A.L. Best Tree Service fell short. They left my property a mess, even damaging some plants. Perhaps if Andy was there on the job at the time that would not have happened. read more

AL. Best Tree Services did a great job of clearing my backyard of 5 foot tall California grass , Haole Koa , and a 30 foot tall mango tree on a rising slope. I called Andy , the owner on a Thursday afternoon for an estimate and he said he could meet me in 30 minutes since he was nearby. I was impressed to meet him so soon . He gave me a good estimate of the job and then scheduled me for the following Tuesday. His work crews promptly arrived at 9 A.M. on Tuesday and they were very friendly and polite . I too was impressed by previous Yelp ratings. Tree trimming services are a hit or miss and I can tell you I have had friends who picked some really unprofessional ones. I called AL Best last week and got a fast same day response on a quote to trim a plumeria, mango and coconut tree. Had a little hicup on the date but today a crew of four great guys showed up at 11:00AM and started work. My dad was pretty particular on how he wanted his plumeria and mango cut. He got exactly what he asked for. Little over two-hours later everything was loaded up and the lawn raked. Perfect and professional! I'll be sure to have AL Best back in about six months. read more

Not only did Andy meet me at my home to provide me a comprehensive estimate the very same day that I called, but he agreed to complete the relatively large job the very next day. Trying to get someone out to trim trees is crazy these days. AL Best got me on schedule and my trees taken down within a couple of days of me calling. They took out two trees and trimmed five in two hours. They didn't trample my plants, which is a problem I've had with lots of other companies, and they cleaned everything up. read more

Removed three trees with stumps. Really good quote, like half the price of other companies, but didn't do a good job getting the whole stump out. He talks a big game about how well he'll get the stump out but then he doesn't even show up to do the job his crew did. After his job was done we started landscaping and realized a giant part of the stump was still left and asked him to come back and he quoted a real high price so I paid someone else to finish the job. We just moved into our first single family home and I know nothing about what it cost to cut any type of vegetation down. With that said, our home inspector suggested that we cut down two of our trees as the previous owner had planted them too close to the walls. I called and Andy returned my call promptly. I sent him pictures of the trees and he sent me a quote. I mentioned the quote to my co-workers who had experience with this kind of stuff and they immediately told me that it was a really good price. When I got home I saw that Andy's guys did a great job! I wasnt sure where to start looking for trees trimming services. I figures I use yelp for restaurants I may as well try for trees. I tried and found a number of them. Called a few companies including AL Best Tree Services. Andy answered when I called and was able to set up an estimate the same day. I got a few more estimates and AL Best Tree Services gave me the best rate and with the reviews on Yelp I was confident they would work. Was able to set up an appointment the next morning. The following morning, Tau (Andys brother) arrived with a couple other guys. They went straight to it. Within 2.5 hours the tree was trimmed, a couple other trees were touched. All trimmings were carried to the front of the house. Two other guys arrived on a large flatbed truck. Everything was loaded, cleaned up and done in 3 hours. They left our yard looking as good as when they arrived. They also swept up anything and everything on the street. Their quality of work, cost, and attention to detail gets AL Best Tress Services will always get my business. I will be using them in the future and recommending AL Trees Services to everyone. ***our 80+ year old mac nut tree hasnt been trimmed in 10 years. We went over what had to be done, trim the two avocado trees that had grown too big and trim the mango tree that was cut weird. These guys are good! I've called them a few times and have been happy with his services. They had cut down a huge plumeria tree in my backyard it only took them less than 15 minutes to cut it down. Trimmed an extremely tall palm last year and now had decided to cut it down as it was necessary. He They were respectful to my surrounding plants and avoided breaking any of them.
