I did notice the dabeli being assembled fresh, though it was made on sesame buns (looked like regular grocery store buns), which already felt off for anyone who knows how a dabeli is made. What really threw me off was seeing a tray of frozen Deep samosas being pulled out to heat up. I asked again about freshness and got a confusing explanation about how they're made fresh and then send it to Deep to be frozen, which didn't quite add up. At that point, I was honestly frustrated and quite irriated about the lies, but chose to just take the order and leave. I can't speak for everything on the menu, but the samosas are definitely not freshly made. They're also quite small for the price, and the dabeli felt overpriced for what it was. If you're looking for truly fresh snacks, it's worth being a bit mindful about what you order here.

Aside from the convenient location in PATH Plaza, the staff that works at the registers in the morning are friendly and get you through the line quickly. The store recently went through a renovation, as well. This Duane Reade also has a larger grocery section for nearby residents and commuters traveling through the Journal Square Transportation Center. For the most part, it's a solid DR if you are in the area.
