We ordered the Crispchon (suckling pig), pomelo salad, Laing fried rice and Chicken Binakol. Because it was only 3 of us we ordered the 1/6 size. When the food arrived at the table we were surprised the Crispchon looked old and dried. Plus we received the front part of Lechon - chopped up jaw bone, ear and even teeth. The Crispchon pieces were too big and we asked that be chopped smaller. When it returned it wasn't much different. We all commented that they are serving yesterday's Lechon. As for the Pomelo Salad, the dressing tasted as if the coconut milk was curdled with the calamansi. We complained to the staff and we were told that we ordered we should have specified what part of the pig we wanted. Apparently when 1/6 size is ordered you get the front part. We also told the staff that we could not eat the salad. We suggested to use lemon juice instead of calamansi. The only part of the meal that was satisfying was the Chicken Binakol. Served in a bowl and coconut shell, the soup was hot, the broth was tasty with sliced ginger, camias and coconut strips. We made well known how bad the Crispchon tasted and looked. At the end we were brought the check. The restaurant did not charge us for Crispchon. I can't fault the service as it was excellent but the dining experience was very disappointing. I'm not sure on our next visit to the Philippines that we will dine at this location. Sayang.

Makes things easier logistically since relatives were traveling from all over the metro area and we didn't need to have a set time to meet. After walking through multiple malls (Mitsukoshi, Bonifacio High Street, Market! Market!), we ended the day at SM Aura. Mesa is a modern, casual Filipino restaurant on the fifth level of the shopping center. Close to Yabu and Ramen Nagi. It's a chain with multiple locations all around the different islands, all mostly inside SM or Ayala malls. They have plenty of tables inside and out. There are also a few chairs by the window outside in case there's a long wait, but there weren't many patrons at 3PM in the afternoon. Even though we were ordering takeout, they were kind enough to provide glasses of ice water and let us sit inside while we waited for the order to be prepared. We had the Inihaw Sampler, which comes with river shrimp, pork BBQ, sweet soy glazed bangus belly (milkfish), squid, scallops, pork belly, and grilled chicken leg quarters. This land and sea feast had a few charred pieces that were inedible, but there was a decent variety of proteins and it's good for sharing. The portion was moderate and it can feed 2 people. It was hot and crunchy and the sauce was pretty good. The pinakbet with pork liempo was awesome, please keep in mind that pinakbet in some regions are cooked without the sabaw (sauce). The eggplant was definitely fried. The bitter melon and the kombucha squash were steamed well. The pork was super crunchy!!! Please also note that one order of pinakbet will probably good for 2 people but I can definitely devour it on my own! The kare kare with crispy pork was also good. The sauce was slurry and not too thick. The string beans, banana heart (puso ng saging) and bok choy were steamed and cooked well. They were not soggy but crunchy. Also the eggplant was fried and added with the sauce. When you order kare kare it automatically comes with sautéed shrimp paste. This dish alone will probably feed 4 people. Overall the service was great, we did not wait long for the food, and we were seated right away since we arrived there around 11:45ish. The restaurant was clean and quite cozy. There's one bathroom for both genders. Total of all the meals including 1 sugarcane calamansi juice refill P1745.00 (also includes gratuity charges).
