I would rate zero or negative if possible. Took my daughter swim suit shopping. Fitting room attendant wouldn't allow me in to help her get properly fitted. The attendant said it was policy and rules. First it was because we had six swim suits , she said there wasn't a tag for 12. Well two piece swim suits are two pieces of a suit. Anyways she said that only kids could have parents. I'm her mother. I'm not about to allow my teen daughter walk out dressing area in in swim suits that doesn't fit. Fit is important. Never have we ever been treated so poorly trying to shop together. Foreign lady was older and just kept smarting off and talking hateful. I stood in hall and she just kept talking mess. Don't go there. Staff are rude, don't know a thing about customer service. They are not welcoming and the place is over priced. Plenty of better places to shop that are cool. Go to the Warf. I paid more for a better experience. I wouldn't buy a water in Surf Style anymore. Parents had house there for over 20 years and vacationed there for 40. I went to a surf style shop yesterday in Gulf Shores. I was looking around at everything they had. Very over priced. I asked one employee a question. He was not helpful at all. He and another employee did not act like they wanted to work. Did not ask if I needed anything. I was completely ignored. Not impressed at all with sales service. Was not busy. Me and another lady were the only ones in the store. I thought I would try out another store. Same service . Was not greeted by anyone. Will never go to another store again. read more

I can not believe they don't have a bathroom available for their paying customers. Everything is so nice and $$ but no restroom!!!

I thought I was only running into the Surf Style for a few minutes to pay for the Dragons Breath I purchased outside. Well that didn't happen! The nice lady in front of me in line was noticeably annoyed so I asked her how long she had been waiting. She said too long. So this is where I was surprised because I counted 7 employees behind the counter, but only one register was open. Is it more important to fold shirts than it is to make sales? At some point the lady that appeared to be a supervisor opened a new register. By then my dragons breath stopped breathing. It was a hit with the kids, my wallet not so much. $44 for 4 orders. It was what appeared to be big round trix cereal mixed with liquid nitrogen. The smoke only lasted for a few minutes and then the cereal tasted like stale trix. The store is very well organized & clean with a lot of interesting items. The young girl who checked me out was very friendly & helpful. She noticed I has several bags from another store and offered me a larger one to consolidate them. This made an impression on me. I thought she was very observant, thoughtful & kind. Stopped in while in gulf shores so my kids could see if they could find a toy to buy with money they had been saving for this vacation. My 4 yr old son wanted a hermit crab, which I was not really a big fan of to begin with but I won't stop him from spending his own money on what he wants. Inside the pin they keep them in inside the store about half of them were out of their shells dead. I understand that some them are going to die occasionally but it appeared that these had been left dead for a while. Same merchandise as the other 5,000 locations within five minutes of each other. Hopped in to pick out a swim suit and a few forgotten beach necessities... ended up not purchasing anything. The clothing and swimwear was VERY poor in quality and design. The local Target offered suits and gear made of higher quality materials and a much cheaper price. read more

Avoid the stores. The staff has no idea what is going on. My wife and mother-in-law went to buy some shirts. The signs say buy 3 get 1 free. When they get you to pay nothing is free. The manager says it's buy 2 get 1 free. We had 4 shirts. With the manager stating this we should get 2 free shirts since they charged us for 4 of them. They would not refund the money when we only wanted 1 for free as the sign stated not what the manager stated as we did not want to go find 2 more shirts. After 30 minutes of discussing this with them I told them we will dispute the bill so they would have to wait to get paid. They then decided to refund the money for 1 shirt as we wanted per their sign. The staff is not knowledgeable and thinks since it's a tourist area they can get away with what ever they want. In the parking lot another family stated the store did the same thing to them. This place is a scam and should be reported for the advertising and then lying about it. Go down the street to the other stores to get a fair and correct deal. read more

Cutest T-shirts and tanks of all the souvenir shops, in my opinion. However, the bathing suits are way overpriced. The reason it gets only 2 stars though is because of the terrible customer service. We walked in to look around, and the clerk simply looked at us. No greeting at all. My son was looking at some of the merchandise that was by the front counter, then some of the cashier's friends came in and stood right in front of where he was looking. The cashier, instead of asking them to move, leaned over the counter and carried on a conversation with them. I had to say something to them to get them to move, and the cashier roller her eyes at me. We would have left, except they had a fidget spinner on sale that my son wanted. He took it to the cashier, but I had to say excuse me twice before she finally stopped talking with her friends to ring us up. It came up $6.95, my son handed her $7. She wouldn't take it, and said the total 2 more times. I finally had to explain to her that he had a $5 and two $1, which made $7 which was in fact more than the total. She flipped the spinner over and saw the sale price, then said she didn't realize they were on sale. The whole situation was ridiculous!! When we return to Gulf Shores, we may try out another Surf Style for souvenir shirts, but WILL NOT be returning to this particular one as we received NO SERVICE from any of the workers in there. read more

Terrible customer service. We bought multiple chairs for the beach and it ended up raining for our whole vacation. We called before went to the store to return them because we only had receipts for some of them. We were told we could return everything for store credit. Upon arriving at the store, the store clerk would not let us return anything with out a receipt, was extremely rude, raised her voice repeatedly, and implied that we were lying about calling beforehand. Completely understandable policy; just could have been handled much better. read more
