My first time to a Ron Jon surf shop, and I was not disappointed! The store itself is large, offering clothing, accessories, surf items, and more. I couldn't decide on a sweatshirt, so I ended up with some stickers and a keychain for now (browsing the website as I write this haha). The store is right across from the water in Orange beach (Cool - while visiting FL I got to see three new states!) This store was so cute and had the cutest clothes ever. The store was very well organized and had tons of very cute and fun accessories to choose from. I got a shirt, shorts, and stickers. Also it came with 3 stickers for your purchase, which was beyond kind. Our cashier was so sweet, and made sure that we had everything that we needed. She had nothing but an amazing attitude. Immediately upon walking in the door we heard this man singing live. And he was GOOD! (Like I wish they had a restaurant inside where we could just sit and listen to him play.) Shop is filled with tourist fare, everything you could possibly need for the beach, and lots of Ron Jon logo merch. We got some super unique magnets, toys for the kids, and I got an amazing straw hat for $25. Highly recommend this shop. read more

This is the first Ron Jon I have been in. Great selection and some real unexpected finds i.e. Skateboards, boho beach and high tech multi media images. There were some nicely priced trinkets and the typical bathing suits. The skateboards were pretty cool. My kids skateboard and the gal behind the counter was really helpful. I love the Ron Jon logo and brand and the store had a lovely selection of merchandise. This isn't one of those tic-tac souvenir places, nothing is really cheap. They sell high quality hats, tshirts, surf and skate boards and other beach inspired merchandise. The real kicker though is how rude and unhelpful the staff is. You are shopping higher end merchandise. You'd think you would get some sales assistance, nope, nothing, not even a smile or acknowledgement. I left with no bags and pocketful of money looking for another shop in which to do business. read more

I must have stumbled into a million of these places over the years. I'm pretty sure there's one at every beach in the world, or at least in the western hemisphere. It's like...everything they sell costs twice as much as any other place on the block, and is of the same quality as you'd find at any of those places. Besides that, each item in the store is emblazoned with their logo, so the choices are pretty slim and you end up being a walking advertisement for them. Maybe it's like a hard rock cafe kind of thing where people collect beach towels from different beaches or something. I just don't get it. We always frequent Ron Jon when we come to OB. Unfortunately this time the sizes of men's shirts were lacking and I couldn't find any size medium in short sleeves. The staff is obviously very busy but they were not that helpful either when I asked about sizes. I think they need to hire more staff to help out. read more

I love this store! When you think of the beach you think or Ron Jon! The store is new I believe its been there now for 3 years. The store is very modern and inviting. They have a great selection of beachwear as you would expect, as well as the famous Ron Jon shirt. You hair to get one if you are here. They are very comfortable and hard wearing. They range in price from about $15 to $35+ but they are so iconic, you have to stop in and get one. They do have surf boards and the like, but not as many as you would think. Orange Beach really dose not have any waves, so buying a $500 surfboard would not do you any good here. They do, however have a large selection of boogie boards and skateboards. You can design your own custom skateboard at this location, which is pretty cool! They sell Yeti mugs, and tumblers, which is ideal for the beach, and a whole host of sun care products. The store is very clean and well kept. The staff is somewhat friendly, they don't go out of their way to help you, but id you ask, they always seem friendly. Also, the bathrooms are spotless! So if you have to go, I suggest going here! All in all, you are really paying for the name, which is okay by me, because it is so iconic and you get a free sticker with every purchase to brag to your friends that you are a surf god! read more

Great selection of surf/skate gear & clothing, especially my favorite- Roxy brand. Although a little more pricey than some other places, they have more selection (almost everything Roxy makes!). They close at 8 (a bit earlier than the other shops along the strip) and would recommend going earlier in the day than later. I was weary of the traditional souvenir shops at the beach, with their tacky, juvenile t-shirts, confederate flag beach towels and rows and rows of shot glasses. I was curious to see what Ron Jon offered, eager to find something different and less childish. I struck pay dirt at Ron Jon. T-shirts, a beach staple, are far and away much nicer, more appealing and more upscale than what you find at most souvenir shops. The surf scenes on the shirts are really more like art. And for that matter, I'd hesitate to call Ron Jon a souvenir shop. The merchandise, the layout and better quality give it the feel of a traditional retail store, not a souvenir shop, partly due to the surfing related merchandise they sell. You won't find any salt water taffy here. And service, absent at the big souvenir shops, was friendly and helpful. If you're looking for something nicer to take home from the beach, give Ron Jon a shot. I guarantee you'll find something you like. read more

If you're a tourist at a location that has a Ron Jon's you know you need to go. Go and get your obligatory "I'm Not From Here" shirt and have fun! This location isn't as big as Cocoa Beach (none of them are) but it was very clean and still impressive. We were especially appreciative of how wide the aisles are unlike a lot of other tourist shops at the beach. I'm a fan of Dakine and Kreedom, which they also carry. read more

We recently moved to the area and decided to check out Ron Jon's the other day. It was worth the visit! The store had a lot of great options for T-Shirt designs. However, the ladies side wasn't as inclusive as the men's size wise. Kind of disappointing.. Other than that the employees were so sweet and helpful! Anna went out of her way to help me find a shirt in my size and pulled several options for me to choose from. Jordan helped me in the dressing rooms. It's seemed too be a nice store with a lot of merchandise our son that is 18 found a few shirts I was in the ladies department looking for large or extra large shirts because some of us are a little bigger on the top and require a large or extra large shirt in the ladies department. After asking a young lady if there was any styles of large or extra large shirts or T-shirts she said they were all out if we had them . When our teenage son was checking out in the men's department and I had asked the assistant manager why there was no large or extra large sizes in the ladies department I was told that they really don't carry large or extra large in the ladies because it's not something they do that's why they have the unisex and the men's department I explain to him I didn't want a man shirt or unisex shirt I wanted a nice feminine lady's shirt. I explained I couldn't not find any large or extra large in the ladies department he said we just don't carry those sizes and that's just the way it is they carry what they can sale . I reminded him of another big box company that had that type of thinking or would you say discrimination against larger people. read more

I love stopping @ this Ron Jon's location when staying next door at hotel indigo! They have an assortment of just about everything you would want or need for your trip to the beach. Yes, it is a tad more pricey than the rest of the beach shops you'll find down the strip, but the merchandise you purchase at Ron Jon's will last. You have to pay for quality and they have it. The assortment of ladies accessories is always a pleasure to look through. From anklets, necklaces, hair accessories, simply southern accessories, hats, swim, bags, shoes, etc... you can literally spend an hour plus in there and only have looked over the ladies area. Favorite beach store ever! A must go when in the gulf shores area! Plus if you book your stay through hotel indigo, they give you a 15% off coupon when you spend 30$+. Saved me a LOT of money! I would like to give kudos to the 2 that assisted our family tonight....on our first and second visits :) Mgr Gabriel was readily available to assist us with particular items, multiple times, until we decided which ones we wanted to purchase. Sabrina also assisted us with our great finds before and after checkout. They were friendly, energetic, and made us feel welcome. We were treated the same while looking at all the merchandise in the store, from looking at kids toys, to clothing, and up to the higher end merchandise...never pressured to purchase anything, however we got a lil of everything! read more

Very disappointed. We waited until the last day to come here to shop on our way back home. They were supposed to open at 9am and it is now 10:50. They are still closed.
