Nice and clean dental office. Good customer service, friendly doctors and staff I love this place.

I am a patient advocate. We asked the clinic to email my patients x rays to another dentist and they refused. They said that they would copy them but not send them electronically. Every dentist knows that copying digital images to paper distorts the images, so they are useless to any other dentist reading them. My patient is in her late 20's. She has had multiple brain surgeries to remove a benign tumor and for medical reasons does not need extra radiation. The dentist providing a second opinion will now have to retake the x-rays. Stay away from the Alameda Dental Group. They are not only disrespectful, they also lack compassion. If it were possible to give them zero stars, I would. read more

Let's start by saying that the staff here is super nice and welcoming!! I got some dental work done by Dr. Moreta W. few weeks back she was really great and made me feel really comfortable. The process was really smooth and I was relaxed the whole time. Next thing you know we were done! She explained how to take care of my mouth for the next couple of days, what to do and what to eat. The x-Ray girl was very friendly, but even though I made an appointment, this place does take too long for everything. I had to wait a long time just to get my X-ray done and I had to wait even more to see the doctor. Another thing I didn't like about this place is how many times they call you on the phone and txt to just remind you when is your appointment. I think after the first 3 calls and text messages and post card by the mail, I would know when is my appointment. Another thing I dislike about this place, they called me on the phone ask for my health care number without me going to the dentist. When they had me waiting they put on some Asian channel for me to watch, I tried to change it but every channel was Japanese. After, someone came in but didn't say a word and just left. I have been wait for 1 hour and 27 minutes. If you are planning to come here. Make sure to take the day off from work and don't plan anything else. Dr. Mejilla was very nice and informative. Was there on Friday 7/31/15 doctor and staff were very friendly. Something I noticed was that they had a raffle for the children with cool toys. Wait time was not bad was seen within 30 minutes and out within 45 minutes. read more

Please check your statement of all procedures done before you walk out of that office! I'm not really sure what is going on but I think there may be some type of fraudulent activity going on here. I went in some time in July last year for a regular cleaning which is 100% covered by my insurance. However, as I am checking out I get asked to pay $75 for "09630-Other drugs, medication BR". I questioned why I was being charged for a regular cleaning and they said it was part of the cleaning. Naively, I just paid for it and walk out. After leaving I made a claim against them just because I thought there was something wrong about them charging me for a cleaning. I just got my claimed cleared and because I signed for it without calling my insurance they "won" but my insurance did say cleanings are covered at 100% and if any charges come after cleaning that is a RED FLAG. However, I just saw another Yelp review from Dan S. below that he also got the $75 charge and questioned that charge and they could not explain it. I wish I would've of questioned it more and not paid it. Moral of this, CHECK YOUR STATEMENT AND DON'T PAY UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE THOSE ARE ACCURATE CHARGES. Please spread the word, who knows how many other people have gotten scammed by them. read more

I am a patient at this place i hace been going there since they opend the office. Im very satisfied with their service. They always remind me about my dental check ups when they are due. They have very friendly staffs and doctors. This place is always clean it looks like they really Care for their patients, i do recomend this dentist for the whole family, i dont know why people are saying that they wait for so long when its not true i love this dentist they make you feel like family, the manager always tries to help me with my inserunce coverage. They placed my crown in, incorrectly. Told me I needed a root canal even though I wasn't in pain. Began having tooth pain after the root canal and they had to completely remove the nerve. So 2 visits for that and then a 3rd visit to place a crown that wasn't even placed in all the way in. The dentist was letting the assistants do some of the work which I'm not sure is even legal and was probably why the crown was placed not connecting to my gums.. there is 2 two big gaps on the side which I had recently redone with a dentist not at this dentist office but with a dentist who actually does the work himself. Then I got some cavities filled.. not even two weeks later.. I felt crunching in my mouth and sure enough two fillings fell off.. I went to the office and they tried charging me again since they were trying to say they didn't do the work. I told them too look into my account and I have the paperwork where I paid them and I'm not paying them again to do it. They did redo it but I already felt uncomfortable and knew I would never come back. I've never been to such an incompetent dental place. Actually turns out 4 of my fillings fell out which is costing me 1500 to fix all their mistakes. read more

I had a weekend emergency (lost a veneer right in the very front top) and my normal dentist office is closed on weekends, so they sent me here. Huge mistake. Had an appointment but waited forever while watching numerous people go in before me. The front office staff was okay, not horrible, but not great. The guy who brought me back wanted to do a full set of x-rays, which were completely unnecessary, and I refused. After about 20 minutes of sitting in the x-ray room, he finally came back and said they just needed x-rays of the tooth that the veneer came off of. I still protested but he promised I wouldn't have to pay, so I allowed it. I was then taken to an exam room, where I waited another 20 minutes for the dentist. She refused to permanently attach the veneer (which I had), and said she could only put in on temporarily until I could see my regular dentist. I kept asking why but she couldn't offer an explanation. She left, clearly frustrated, and I waited for another 10 minutes before a girl came in and said I had to sign a waiver not holding them responsible for putting my veneer on. Who does this? (I should have walked out right then and there. My fault totally.) But I signed the waiver because I really needed the work done. Another 15 minutes before the dentist came back, acting like nothing happened, and she attached the veneer. Checking out to pay for the visit, the receptionist tried to charge me for the x-rays! Total scam. On the way home, I realized that they put the veneer on crooked and it was hitting my other teeth, making eating next to impossible. My dentist tried to fix their poor work but now I have to pay for a new veneer to be put on properly since they screwed it up. Over 2 hours of my time completely wasted. I'll never set foot in this office again. read more

Avoid this place. They take forever to call you in. On my first visit I was there for like 2 hours just so they can take X-rays and consultation. They told me I needed a couple crowns and they recommened a deep cleaning. They were trying to charge me a high price for crowns especially since I have a great insurance, so I called my insurance to double check my co pay and fair enough I was being ripped off. My next visit I asked to speak to the billing lady which she's the manager as well and when I asked her why they were charging me more and that I spoke to my insurance and they told me a different amount she didn't know what to answer, she said it was a high price for a lab fee of 200 per crown plus my insurance doesn't covered porcelain crown(bs) so I asked her if she can call my insurance and discuss it and she told me she didn't have time because she had other patients and if I felt that price was too high to go to another Dentist. Like wow really? That's when I knew they were overcharging me and didn't want to get caught, I guess other patients just pay whatever they bill them but nope not me I did my hw and they knew they couldn't fool me! read more

I came here on a Saturday in November 2012. It was great they had weekend appointments. I arrived and signed in and gave all my insurance information. There were several people there but I figured I had an appointment and should be fine. After waiting to close to an hour I asked the receptionist how much longer I had to wait, it appeared they just forgot about me. There goes the benefit of having an appointment. When I went in the gentleman taking the x-rays was great and friendly. I then waited for the doctor and took another 15 minutes to come checked on me and left for another 15, came back and put anesthesia on and left me waiting for close to 20 minutes and finally worked on me. They had to put more anesthesia as it was already wearing out. They performed some work and mentioned to continue nest year when my insurance kicks in again. Well I remember they had quoted me some prices and I called to double check since I am trying to get other estimates. So I ask about a tooth replacement which she told me today would cost $3,500. WOW!!!!! I looked around and the average cost in LA is $1,200. Makes me wonder how much they charged my insurance for cleaning on half my mouth and tooth extraction. I am sure work was not worth $2,000 limit my insurance gives me. I will most definitely not be coming here again. I don't trust their billing and it was just too long of a wait and unreasonably priced. I will take my chances somewhere else. read more

I had a one of my wisdom teeth taken out here. I was very scared and they kinda made it worse because they wanted to force me to get an IV when I didn't want it. Isn't the oral Surgeon supposed to give you specific instructions on after care on wisdom teeth extraction. I didn't get any of that. I just got. Prescription for Tylenol (didn't take the pain away) and a bag full of gauze, like they expected I knew what to do. But that you who ever invented Google that could answer my questions about after care. This was possibly one of the scariest and worst oral surgeries I've had. Since I didn't get an IV I got like 5 anesthesia shots that's were wearing off in the middle of the procedure and I kinda felt everything. Painful much. Aside from that horrible experience their staff, especially one of the ladies at the front desk ( obviously wears too much make up) is very rude and you can tell she hates her job!!! I've had various encounters with her and she was nothing but rude!!! Their facilities are pretty good, clean. They could be better but their staff are pretty rude I wouldn't recommend this place. This office will give u an appt & make u wait! My daughter had an appt at 3p with the peds specialist! took them almost an hr to call her in then waited another 20 mins till the doc actually saw her! By this time my daughter was really anxious and nervous for the wrk she needed! they wanted to charge me $175 for sedation to calm her! If my other daughter wouldn't have already started her braces treatment with them (which is a whole new story & another hassle) i would have gone some where else but im stuck payin $3900 for my other daughters braces! read more

The staff here is super friendly and has great customer service. Everyone in the office is extremely helpful. Going to the dentist was never my favorite thing in the world but the doctors are patient with you and know how to make you feel super comfortable. I loved that during my exam on my first visit, the dentist sat down with me, showed me and explained to me what was wrong and how she can fix the problem. I also loved everyone's excellent customer service and knowledge. Everyone was professional and polite. I was able to see that everyone gets along. I am no fan of dentists but this place by far is one of the best places I have gone. The doctors were extremely nice and the assistant, Henry was extremely patient and explained everything to me while he was assisting. The room I was in was extremely sanitary. I did run into an issue with my insurance which at any other place would have been the biggest headache ever!! But they handled the headache for me and got it all situated so I could be on my way. I would most defiantly recommend this place to my friends and family and anyone who asks for a dentist recommendation. read more

i came in as a first time patient when i first walked in i was impressed on how nice the office was. i was nicely greeted by the front desk assistants, and didn't wait much long after i was called in for x-rays, and the back office assistants were amazing made me feel very comfortable, i informed them that i suffer from anxiety, they helped me get through my visit without freaking out. i was seen by dr. moreta she was great with me and was very nice. i highly recommend this office to family and friends well definitely bring my kids here. thank you for a great experience .... read more

Let me start off by just saying that this a very welcoming dental clinic. The service is very good, and the surrounding inside feels calming. Considering the fact that during the wait, they let you choose a Netflix show of your choice. The Doctors as well are very good at explaining a problem to you, and giving you advice on what to do. Came on 8/3/13 for wisdom extractions. Had app at 3pm so signed in earlier was called in by 3:30 not bad. Had xrays taken again don't know for what if they were done on day of consult. then was told to sit in chair and wait for oral surgeon. so about 15 min passed he comes and staff told him it's 4 wisdom teeth need extraction, he replied "oh 4 that's going to take long", so he comes to me and says he is going to start the numbing process and he needs to see couple of pt's because my procedure would be taking a long time, he said he would be back in 30-40 minutes. Well it was more like an hour and a half!!! by then it was close to closing time, and he seemed to be in a rush. so starts procedure on the 2nd extraction I was able to feel, he just said oh she was waiting for a while. come to my final extraction he decides to numb me some more. Doesn't bother to check my blood pressure hence I did notify them and it's documented I'm on blood pressure med. after procedure is done only says ok they'll give you rx and instructions. staff was helpful and gave me instructions... but wouldn't you wait and see if my bleeding was normal instead of just asking me to bite the gauze and you're done. Will tell my dentist to not recommend anyone to this office for specialist and will tell friends and family not to go there. If my procedure takes long then maybe he should look at his schedule and speak the scheduler on how to schedule for him. If I didn't need this done now I would have left. read more

this place is horrible !!! had an appointment @10:00am literally sat in the waiting room and patient room a whole hour... i had to leave the office before i sat there an additional 30 mins... btw it was just a basic cleaning i was waiting on ..... but yet again south central la is a major disappointment aswell!!!!.. i rate this office 0.... nothing nada. read more
