I was in severe pain when I called to schedule an appointment. I confirmed my insurance information and whether they took it and whether they were taking new patients prior to setting the appointment. I waited five days in severe pain for the appointment, when I showed up to the appointment, I was told they do not accept new patients with my insurance. After I informed them that I confirmed that information with the person scheduling the appointment, I was told well she must be New. Very unprofessional and a bad way to start a relationship with someone in a professional setting. Wow. I apologize for the long rant but I feel it's my duty to let other's know of my misfortune to possibly help someone else. Unfortunately I write this review while sitting in pain and with a swollen face due to the events that transpired during my visits to this office... Back in Oct. 2020 I decided to come check out this dental office as they were super close to my house and the reviews looked pretty decent. I wasn't in any immediate pain or needed to be seen right away but since it had been a while since my last dental visit, I figured I would give this place a shot. They ran some x-rays and told me everything was great and proceeded to tell me that the fillings I had were old and needed to be replaced. I went along with it since I figured "they know what's best" and scheduled a few appointments to get it done. Dr. Perez did the right side of my mouth which ended up being a pleasant experience. After the anesthesia wore off I was back to my normal life, pain free. The following appointment Dr.Ventura worked on me. Right off the bat i didn't feel good about him working on me. The way he held my mouth open was bizarre, made me feel like he was new at this. Low and behold, once the anesthesia wore off on the left side of my mouth, the pain didn't go away. A few days later, I kept thinking "maybe it's just me and it will eventually subside" but then (TMI) I would floss and a lot of blood would come out from the area that he treated. After 3 weeks of tremendous pain (that I had hoped would go away) I was finally able to be seen by Dr. Perez (I explicitly told front office I no longer wanted to be seen by Dr. Ventura as he was the one that screwed me up in the first place) and Dr. Perez did in-deed confirm that the work done by Dr. Ventura was not good and advised that he had to do ANOTHER replacement. That correction was done in November 2020. SIDE NOTE: After small talk with one of the dental assistants, she confirmed that Dr. Ventura was brand new to the field, straight out of school and that he confided in her and told her that he felt "he was doing something wrong although he didn't know what but it was just a feeling and might not be around the practice for too long". Hearing that made my heart sink. It seems like the procedure done to fix the damage done by Dr. Ventura didn't help. I have been in major discomfort for months since then and due to the holidays and limiting my options to only be seen by Dr. Perez I haven't been able to be schedule an appointment with them. REGARDLESS, I'm traumatized in going back to not only them but any dentist. The last encounter I had, the receptionist confirmed my Saturday appointment on Friday morning yet a few hours later she called me again telling me that the doctor wouldn't be there after all so i would have to reschedule, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!?? I have been in pain for over a month, waiting to be seen and now you're telling me I have to wait another two weeks when you just confirmed that he would be there a few hours earlier!!! That was BEYOND unprofessional. To add salt into my wound, I asked for all of my records and didn't get anything. 2 months later, I called and asked for them again and they just emailed me the x-rays. This is unacceptable. Fast forward to Jan. 2021, and now I guess that discomfort was a sign that something was still wrong because now I'm sitting here with the left side of my face completely swollen and a lump in the roof of my mouth all on the side where the doctor worked on. You know what kills me... After the very first appointment with Dr. Perez I was so happy with the work and how great everything went that I started recommending them to all my friends and family. Had I known that just around the corner, they would be the cause to my biggest nightmare, I would've stayed far away and kept my mouth shut. I came to dentist many times and every single to I feel uncomfortable. I'm African American and I don't understand nor do I speak Spanish. Everyone who works in there is Hispanic. They only speak Spanish even while working in your mouth with one another as if you not even sitting there. The music they play is all in Spanish. I feel like that's very rude because they should cater to all the patients no matter what race they are and have some respect when they are speaking another language around them. Thats only issue #1. My second problem is I have very good insurance I work for FedEx and I know what my insurance covers. So I asked a consultant do my insurance cover ortho (I already knew I had $2000 in coverage) so goes to check and comes back and tells me No I would have to come out of pocket full price. I instantly knew that would be my last time going to that office cause I herd they are good for making you pay for procedures that your insurance cover. I made an appointment to come in for x rays and brought my 2 year old with me. Once there they had the audacity ( not gonna mention names) to ask me " you can leave her outside or make another appointment because of the X-rays she cannot come in" First of all, leaving my daughter outside in the lobby ISN'T an option LOL and second it was an inconvenience that they didn't make me aware over the phone when I made the appt to not bring any children since they cannot go in with me. Discretion: Long review Well, I came in to this dental office because they are located not too far from my home. I had called to make an appointment because I had an on going tooth ache that lasted about a week and had scheduled on Monday with their receptionist and my appointment was made for friday, she was really nice when I spoke with her on the phone. And I had informed her that it has been awhile since I've seen a dentist. Flash forward to Friday, I was checked for covid and was prompted to fill out my basic medical history and information for the office. After, I was taken in by a young gentleman who took my xrays. He was really quiet and I know they're just doing their job, but i wanted to make small talk to cool down my nerves and asked what we were doing right now. He just stood and said "xrays", okay.... xrays, it got quiet again. Everything was going well, until we got to the side where my toothache was located and I was having difficulty biting down on the xray tab. It took maybe a couple times to try.. but it was really hard to bite down. He was getting frustrated and he kept telling me that I needed to bite down and I had told him numerous times that when I bite down the tab was pushing against my bottom gum. Him being frustrated, he told me, " I've never had this problem before with other patients and I have no idea what to do", me being me, I was trying to stay calm and told him, " well, maybe we can do the other side, im really not trying to give you hard time, i am having a hard time biting down because of the the amount of pressure the tab is placing on my gum", he also said, " you need to relax your muscles in your mouth your very tense." I was offended by what he said and replied with "IM TRYING", and repeated why I was having a hard time. He stood quiet and started on the other side. Everything went fine until we got back to the tooth ache side. He finally pulled out numbing paste and placed it all over my mouth. I still felt the pressure and I didn't want to cause any more delay so I held my breath and forced my bite to get it over with. I was deeply upset in the inside and it made me feel uncomfortable just sitting in the chair, while he was being really quite and felt un-engaged in this process so so I kept my feelings inside. Until rhe next person I met took pictures of my teeth and she was really sweet and nice, she took her time too empathize with my situation and made me feel not so embarrassed about what was going on with my teeth. After, I seen the dentist and he examined my mouth, his assistant or whoever took down what needs to be done and not surprisingly, alot needed to be done. I was even told that there was an infection in my tooth. They gave me the breakdown list of care and what service will be provided and my insurance only covered up to $1000, which was still under. So they signed me up for care credit and which I was offered $3000. I was not treated the first day of examination and was asked to come back the following week for care for my teeth. Over the weekend, I started to feel numbness in my chin and developed hoarsness in my voice, went to urgent care and the NP explained to me that when numbness occurs around the jaw an infection is present and was prescribed antibiotics. So i called the dental office on Monday and when I spoke with the receptionist, I was explaining to her of what had happened since it was dealing with my teeth, i was also having a hard time speaking since the weekend. So when I was explaining to her about my situation, she had cut me off and went straight too "so do you want to reschedule your appointment?"..... maann.. i was irritated and annoyed, said yes and had scheduled it again the following week. I informed my husband about my situation and he basically had enough of the treatment that he had called them asked to cancel his and my appointment. Don't get me wrong this was a clean, nice dental office and the other workers were really nice. But I mean, this was my first time here and I was excited to come and get care at this facility, and I'm sure they provide over the top care with other patients. First time here, and I loved it. Very fast, and convenient. Affordable prices and good discounts. Amazing staff from front desk to the assistants. The manager was also very nice and explained every charge. My doctor answered all my questions and concerns. I feel very well taken care of. I will have to be back to finish my treatment and to change my fillings. I will also start to bring my children here from now on. My kids are very inpatient and they saw us one at a time so the other can watch the kids. They also gave them toys while we waited. My husband convinced me to come and I'm happy for that because I think I'm getting over the nerves of being in a dentist office. read more

Specifically being assisted and helped by Diana. She was very understanding towards my concerns and questions and very empathetic to my questions. I like the dentist that work there, and their work, unfortunately I'm not happy with the supervisor that works there. I have been coming to this dentist office for many years , but I am now considering going somewhere else. The supervisor that gives you the treatment plan and price does not explain any of the prices, I always have to ask so many questions , she is not good at explaining, in the end I leave confused about the pricing. On one visit I was told that they didn't do implants in that office and was referred to another office. At my following visit, I am now told that they do work on implants at their location. I think I'm finally going to leave this office , this person has been there for many years and I'm tired of feeling like I'm a burden asking so many questions and her not making the treatment plan, and prices clear. Also, they do not offer a printout or receipt of work done. Other offices do, Alameda Dental so far has never offered me a copy of the the treatment plan. read more

If you are pregnant they would keep throwing you back and forward with appointments saying that "I need clarification" "we need to know what exactly has to be done to proceed with the procedures" "we need more proof of information"etc... this would be the last time I come here! They wasted my time and I do not recommend any pregnant women to come here just because they feel like they need the needs of asking for permission for everything by the doctor. It's your job to figure things out and come in conclusion with the doctor what needs to be done. Not having me thrown back and forward with appointment asking the most stupidest questions ever! It takes a lot for me to review a place, so it's either a good or a bad. So let me start of by saying that about a month ago I stopped by at this dentist due to lingering pain in one of my Molars teeth. The dentist recommended a cavity filling and a deep cleaning. The dentist then left and a financial staff then came in the room to explain the procedure and the amount of money I would be paying after my insurance. I obviously agreed due to the pain I was in. Well the sensitivity and the pain eventually came back and I returned to the dentist last Saturday 11/02/2019 to explain my concern. They Took Xrays of my mouth and The dentist recommended for my bite to be adjusted and added more filling to my teeth, after me telling them I had pain in my jaw, temple area etc. During the procedure all the dentist did was chit-Chat with her helper, which made me feel their unprofessional and careless behavior. I obviously trusted them so I agreed. Hoping they knew what they were doing, well I was wrong the pain continued and I had to go all week with the discomfort because of my job schedule and my inability to make it during the week. Well, I returned back Yesterday 11/10/2019. With the same symptoms and concerns. Again they Gave me an X-ray of my teeth and the dentist has the audacity to tell me you are back again? Well, i've done everything in my end. I didn't think the cavity was that deep and that the filling would be enough. If the pain continues I would recommend you see a specialist for a root canal". In my mind I assumed this lady could see if I need a root canal by looking at the Xrays, but apparently not. She stepped away and the financial staff comes in to explain the next steps and apparently the Root-canal specialist is on in the office 2 Friday's out of the Month. This place wasted my time, my money and left me very disappointed. Will not be returning and I will make sure I let everyone know what establishment to not visit. This is by far the BEST dentist office I have ever walked into. The ladies at the front office are just amazing they go above and beyond. They volunteered as babysitters for my twin girls while I got the procedure done. The best part about it all is that I was terrified of dentist but ever since I started coming here I lost that fear. I come in for a dental check up for my son and I get charge monthly for his braces. Thankfully I have my own notes for the payments I have done and so they were charging me for the month of December and January. I checked my notes and I had already paid for December when I came the last time. I tell them and as previously they said "oops you are right". My family and I we're referred to this location for extractions for my daughter. Each time we've been to this location (twice) they have been nothing but professional and friendly. Even when I had to call a few times to check on our authorization they were nice and professional over the phone. This location is also CLEAN. That's a definite plus. Now keep in mind there is a long wait sometimes, but that's a every dentist office...so be patient. What I found funny here is that they have a jar of salt water taffy at the desk to eat if you like. I called here weeks in advance to get my child a weekend appointment as it was our first time and I work during the week. After they took all the information down, ofcourse birthday too, they gave me a saturday appointment. When I arrive at my saturday appointment they tell me my 4 year old needs to come during the week because she needs to see a pediatric dentist and they dont work saturdays. So now what I am hearing is the front desk cant do the math when they set up appointments and ask for date of birth. When I nicely mention that to them, because now they are wasting my time, the girl in the front tries to put the blame on me?! So annoying, then they can't figure out how to spell my daughters name. i spoke with ANA she's amazing i expresses my concerned and she totally sympathized with me! she was very understanding and sweet! thank you Ana this is my home dentist and is very Convenient for me to visityesterday 11/13/2017 i had my right bottom wisdom tooth extracted by Oral surgeon Consuelo, palacio at the beginning she explained everything I was about to happen she started my procedure everything went good until about 20 to 30 minutes later she seem to be concerned she said "this is why i didn't want to pull the tooth because i knew it would difficult " she started speaking Spanish to her assistant and it seemed like it was an emergency her assistant ran out and came back with another tool all the while they did not speak any type of English to me I'm asking what's going on and she's telling me everything is OK it's almost out i am already well into the procedure she made me feel very uncomfortable when she made that statement it seem to me that she was not confident in her work after about 30-45 the tooth was finally out and i didn't go through with any other extractions because i was NOT comfortable with her after she made that statement !
