I really like this antique shop! It has a lot of really nice items. Most impressive to me is the huge and selection of records and African American sheet music. My only drawback is the location commiserate pricing, which severely limited my ability to buy. That's ok. I enjoyed rummaging through the multiple floors anyway. read more

Most of the items are eye wateringly overpriced. A few cool items, but most are so expensive. Saw a Barbie horse from 1980 that averages 15-20 dollars, listed as $42. I normally don't mind paying a little extra to support small businesses, however; the women running this place were shockingly rude. I'm so used to super nice people at our local antique mall, but with the bad attitudes, I don't want to spend anymore money with these unpleasant people. read more

Terrible customer service. The ladies that work there seemed to be inconvenienced to be asked for help looking at things. Asked for help looking at a vase they had locked up which didn't have a price she told me to wait for her by the case and she never came. They have a ton of really cool items but it seems they don't want you to buy it. read more

Lots of "garage sale" type items and junk. Nice antique pieces are about triple the price you'd expect. Maybe worth 15 minutes to see if something really catches your eye, but overall kind of meh tourist trap. Couldn't find the "german flags", and didn't interact with the staff, so no comment on either of these. read more

We saw this cool video of this place on Tiktok boasting its 3 stories of antiques. Well in reality it's really one and a third with an option to go to a record place up above those two floors but it was closed off. The staff didn't seem friendly and there were many cameras and signs that you were on camera. There wasn't much in the way of collectibles or dolls save for some old Barbies and some vinyl toys. Parking is on the street or in a lot so be prepared to pay. read more

Weird vibes all around. The prices are incredibly high for the average shown on eBay, and I'll bet it would have to do with the lady running the desk immediately profiling you as a thief before walking past the front. Not great for business. I would also assume the owners are renting these spaces for sellers at an unfairly high price, which would be why the prices of individual items are so egregious. In addition I'm pretty sure the second floor is haunted, I felt something run a finger down my shoulderblade and back and when I whipped around nobody was there-- so one extra star for the paranormal presence that has to put up with the owners every day. (Just kidding, I'm sure they're nice people, I just didn't have a great experience this time around.) read more

What a wonderful antique shop so close to our hotel we could walk to it in under 3 minutes! They have a variety of vendors and floors offering something for everyone from antique/vintage vinyl to books to farm equipment to the usual clothing, housewares and unique items from around the world. San Antonio has multiple military bases and military retires so if you want it you can probably find it here, highly recommend stopping in but you may want to bring cash, if you use a credit card be prepared to pay a service fee. The fee itself is not horribly high but it is a fee none the less and annoyed me enough to dock a star, sorry I'm petty like that. The ladies working the counter were nice and this place stayed busy, worth the stop in but be prepared to spend some time there is plenty to see. Happy treasuring hunting! read more

So many vendors and there are 3 stories of it! Pay attention and be aware, it can get overwhelming lol FYI there's not a lot of furniture, but that's ok. Brought my dad here and he loved it. The 1st floor had a lot to look at from jewelry, military items, weapons, old magazines collectible toys, clothes. I noticed that they sold some modern items like old Michael kor bags which you could buy a newer one on sale somewhere else. The 2nd and 3rd floor was mainly furniture. Do not use their restroom as their is a vent above the toilet and it had a dead mouse or rat hanging above the toilet. read more

Visited the Alamo and had a short time before Alamo Antique Mall closed so ran over with about 40 min left, to do a quick shop, before closing. Being seasoned antique shoppers it's not ideal but possible given that we were not able to return to downtown during our trip. As soon as we walked in we were told they close at 5. No problem, we knew that. By 4:40 they were starting to turn off the lights and when we made it to the 3rd floor someone was standing there waiting for us to leave to turn the breaker off. At 4:45 they unlocked the door to let us out. Did not feel welcome there AT ALL. read more

Had to jump across state lines and had to stop in on San Antonio for a day. I'm a Cast Iron Skillet Hunter and this place just drew me in. The building is incredibly early 1900's, and the additional floors are really an experience to walk on with unleveled floors, creaking woodwork and intricate, aged, unmodernized everything. The building is dated from its creation date, packed with seemingly hundreds of vendors and have some incredibly eclectic and aged Americana related items here. A must see if you love 2nd hand stores, dated period buildings and art from yesteryear untouched for half a century. I love these kinds of places just as much as modern builds. Owner was extremely rude to my family and I. We found an item in a box that said $5 each, however when we got to the register, the lady working the front desk said $23.95. We stayed that the item was in the $5 box, however the owner stated 'well did you not read the price tag?'. All of the items in the box had different tags, so we assumed all items had been marked down to $5. We stated this to the owner, and she said well if you can't read the tag that says $22 then that's fine. She was extremely rude and continued to tell us we were being the rude ones. Unfortunately, even when you can afford the price, owners acting this way can dissuade customers. She proceeded to tell us we could leave. read more

Service at this mall is not great. Don't seem like they enjoy their job they just look miserable and annoyed. Selection is very good hence the two stars. Visited this place today. They have so much memorabilia! 3floors to shop. You need to give yourself well over an hour if you wish to Look for anything of sentimental or turn the clock back to when you were a kid stuff. Prices are nonnegotiable. You may find some things that are 20-30-40 percent off. I did find some stuff that were broken but it states clearly as is. No refunds or exchanges. You will see the history of this place at the front of the checkout on an article from the newspaper. There were many things priced HIGH. However there were also some things I found to be reasonable. As for customer service? I will say they need improvement! The lady at the check out did not smile. She didn't hand me back my credit card in my hand. She placed it on the table. Perhaps she was t feeling well? The elderly man upstairs on the 3rd floor was a grouch! When asked if prices on the records were negotiable he said no. Our rent here is pretty high! Seems to be the only Antique Mall left in the downtown area. A large variety of merchandise, but with a leaning towards all things Texas. Allow yourself at least an hour if you want to explore all three floors . Warning: top floors are not air-conditioned. I wish they had sales people walking around with keys. You have to go to the front desk to get someone to open a case. Overall, a good Mall with fair prices 2 blocks from the Alamo. read more

I don't normally write reviews but this woman had me furious. I am SO GLAD I didn't purchase anything at this store. My friend has bought from this store numerous times in the past. We were in San Antonio for a girls trip so she wanted to stop by and see if they had any new metal signs for her backyard. My cousin and my friend both brought up some metal signs to purchase. The OLDER woman with brown hair behind the counter was not pleasant at all. She never said, hi or welcome when we came in, nor did she greet us when we walked up to the counter. Extremely RUDE. My friend asked her how much some crystal trees she had on display with some gorilla statues. She said in a condescending tone those aren't for sale. They go with the Gorillas. Ok, nothing against the poor gorilla statues, but they aren't that great looking and why sell crystal trees with gorilla statues which by the way I think the whole set, trees included was $998.00 if I'm correct. She said, whoever buys the gorilla set gets the trees with them. It was the way she was just a B*(&^ about saying it. She clearing needs to retire and go to a HAPPY retreat. RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!! My most absolute favorite item to collect is photography. Lo and behold, Alamo Antique Mall has bins and binders full of them fifteen steps from the front door!! I happily spent several hours looking through other people's memories from a long time ago. The generic tintypes in the case were pretty pricey - $45 each. I didn't see any daguerreotypes or ambrotypes, but I also didn't really seek them out. They had a load of snapshots and a binder of cdvs and cabinet cards. I will come back another day. read more

We have been going here for some time. There seems to be a repetitive theme. The 2nd and 3rd floor are scorching hot and management does nothing about it. I am concerned for the vendors-they have great items but what good are they when a buyer cannot view them and purchase? How hot? Beads of sweat after 5 minutes trying to be on those floors. For an antique mall that takes 30% of sales, they SHOULD have a working air conditioner. Until management wakes up, I suggest going to this place during the winter, which in SA is only 1 month out of the year. read more

The far R back corner still displays the freight elevator and just before it is the public elevator. So not only are the contents of the store antiques, but the store itself. read more

I visit this place at least three times a year. I live in Houston and the past few visits have been very disappointing. The front desk manager/owner is a very mean and unhappy person. When you come in she stares you down. And god forbid you ask for help or clarifications on a price she'll hit you with a "read the sticker" when it's unreadable. She doesn't greet you and she rolls her eyes when you don't use cash. If you use card they charge you a huge fee to which she lies about. One time I had to use a cc and they charged me a credit card fee that was two separate fees totaling $15. There's no sign or any warning that they do this before you buy. And they over charge for items they have no knowledge about. Some things are just old and not any particular monetary value but they claim it's rare and one of a kind when it really is just old. It is a fun place to look at, vinyl section is massive. Double check for prices (do some research) and pay cash if you really want something. Other than that, I wouldn't really recommend this place.
