Atrocious cancellation process. They make it nearly impossible. They will a straight up hang up on you when you try to cancel. "Oh you can only talk to this person and she's out to lunch." At 3pm? Had to call from a different phone to even get through, then they try to charge you for more months because of some BS contract that "you agreed to" which is in the fine print at the bottom of some service receipt. I was a customer of Alamo Pest Control for nearly 10 years, and unfortunately my experience trying to cancel service left me extremely disappointed. I sold my home and moved to an area that Alamo does not service. Every representative who contacted me about my cancellation asked why I was leaving, and every time I gave the same answer: I no longer own the home where service was being provided. The problem wasn't the monthly charge--it was the cancellation process and customer service. I was told that I would still be charged for June because my cancellation request was recorded on May 12, even though I recall contacting the company earlier. Regardless, I don't understand why it takes weeks to process a cancellation. There appears to be no clear paper trail or straightforward process for cancelling service. Customers have to speak with a representative, but there is no immediate written confirmation and no transparency around when the cancellation actually becomes effective. It feels like the company decides the cancellation date rather than the customer. What was most disappointing was being told that my contract from 2017 wasn't set to renew until September and that the representative was "graciously" canceling it early. After nearly a decade as a loyal customer, I expected appreciation and professionalism, not the feeling that I was being done a favor. To make matters worse, I was told I would receive an email confirming my cancellation, but instead I received an email asking me to submit a written cancellation request. If written notice was required, why was I instructed to call and speak with multiple representatives in the first place? Alamo's pest control service itself was generally fine. My issue is with the lack of transparency, inconsistent communication, and poor treatment of a long-term customer during the cancellation process. The company should do better. read more

We had some acrobat ants that had no interest in bait or poison. So we had to call the professionals. They were able to come the same day we called. Performed a one time spray and the ants are gone. Been a week now. It was a little pricey at $190 bucks but it worked. read more

The service was great - however, we moved SIX months ago and continued to be auto-billed for a monthly service for a house we no longer live in. I had wasps in my attic and couldn't get to their nest, nor did I want to. Alamo Pest sent a great technician- Leeland- who removed all nests, in the attic and outside under the eaves. He sprayed a substance in the attic to kill any remaining wasps. He also sprayed a liquid under the eaves and all over a tree in the front yard that was infested with wasps. I am very pleased with the results. Leeland was courteous and knowledgeable. I will definitely use Alamo Pest again. read more

I've used Alamo for a few years now, from rental property to homeowner they have been wonderful in helping resolve all extermination support and needs. Even if it was to our wallet's benefit and not theirs. I'm not sure that I will ever go to another pest control company for the integrity and trust they have built with us over the years. I also absolutely love that the answering service is 24 hours a day. My ADHD brain really appreciates being able to call and report a problem any time of the day, any day of the week, and they'll call me back to schedule service! I called Alamo when a swarm or termites flew out of my attic. Jay Robinson came the next morning. He was on time and even text me 30 min before arriving, to let me know he was on his way. Jay was very professional and took the time to listen to all of our concerns. He explained all of our options and didn't pressure us at all. We wanted to think about it, before making a decision. I called Alamo later that day and made an appointment. Jay came the following day, and did a very thorough job. Again, being patient and answering all of our questions. I'm super pissed It's not the first time we are using them, definitely the last. We moved to a new house at the 26th and they did our pest control, the tech didn't even ask what we want, sprayed something outside the house and left, he didn't offered to do outside/back yard or even asked what we want. We called on Sunday to complain that we have spiders at the house and a nest of wasps, I was told someone will call me on Monday and come to remove it and guess what? No one called. We have a newborn, we couldn't go outside because they didn't do their job as a pest control company, so we called someone else which guess what? Had something crawling around under my house. Has a technician come out, and he just looked around and then threw a cage under there and he said he'd be back in a week to pick it up. It's been 4 months now. Guys never came back and did a follow up visit. I bought this off Yelp deals for $89 for someone to throw a $15 animal cage under my house, that I coulda got from the local hardware store, and never come back. When he sprayed inside our house he offered to take off his shoes (which a lot of service techs don't) so dirt wouldn't track into our house. Have been a customer for a few years. Have had them say they came out on more than one occasion and say they did the exterior work but myself or my wife were at home the whole day and they didn't show up like they claimed they did. Our exterior cameras even showed that they were a no show but claimed they showed up. I contacted customer service and told them they didn't show up. Tech said they did but changed their story and said they did the wrong house. I ended up cancelling that day and they keep charging my account. Just want to let everyone be aware that they may claim they showed up and they won't. Also if you cancel make sure they actually cancel it. (I was told that I actually have to mail a letter to cancel, wasn't told that over the phone the first time I wanted to cancel my subscription, definitely a rip off and will be using someone else.) read more

These guys are really good when they are here. The techs are knowledgeable and friendly. Just 2 big problems are sometimes they call and reschedule, I've taken days off of work that have gone to waste because they reschedule them the day of. I like to take off of work to explain about my current pest issues with the tech. This brings in the 2nd issue...If I schedule them for after work, they always come early while I'm working and then leave a card at my door so I haven't been able to show them any problem areas or tell them of any latest pest issues I'm seeing. read more

I used Alamo today to spray around my house. I've seen some seriously freaky bugs lately since our area has had a lot of rain. They guaranteed 90 days of a bug free life for me! They were friendly , easy to set up and the guy made me feel really comfortable. Currently they have a special that is 49.99, which is the best deal I've found in the area. I will update when I can speak to how well it worked! But so far, so good. *Update: Its been well over a month and I haven't seen any bugs. Maybe a small fly or a tiny spider. But nothing scary! They did a great job and I will have them back in a few months for another spray. read more

I have a duplex that had recurring flea problems in the bottom unit. They quoted $400 to treat the whole house. But problem was only downstairs. So quoted $200, but would give no warranty. It rained the next day after the treatment so I asked if they would come back and spray the yard again. They said no, I didn't get the warranty package. Also the problem died down but never stopped and within a week or two started to ramp back up. My tenant was really upset. Because I didn't pay the full $400, Alamo didn't come back out. Wasn't impressed. Honestly I don't know why I'm giving 2 stars... should be 1. I guess I reserve 1 star for really lousy experiences, and at least these people are friendly and easy to work with for scheduling read more

I chose this company based on their glowing Yelp reviews, but I have been extremely disappointed by their almost non-existent customer service. I attempted to schedule 2 services calls. The first time I was given incorrect information regarding the treatment to be applied as well as instructed to empty out my entire kitchen in preparation for the treatment, which the service tech later told me was a waste of my time and unnecessary. The second appointment was to complete the service from the first trip as the service tech didn't have everything he needed on his truck the first time. That appointment was incorrectly scheduled, despite receiving confirmation emails with the correct appointment times, and left me sitting around my house for hours and no one showing up. Also, no one called me to reschedule this appointment when a tech showed up and no one was home. Most disappointingly, their service manager Mike was rude and entirely unhelpful. He only offered excuses as to why my appointments were incorrectly scheduled and why I was given incorrect and time-consuming instructions. Mike went so far as to divulge personal and irrelevant information regarding himself and other employees to try to distract or explain away his company's mistakes. Mike refused to offer any sort of compensation for his companies continued errors and promised to call back after he had reviewed phone call tapes and computer records. Mike never called and when I called him, he continued to offer more excuses. I asked to have the still incomplete portion of my service call refunded and to have my contract canceled. Mike informed me that there was a cancelation fee and when I suggested he needed to waive that he stated "yeah. I'm not going to do that." I have never been treated so poorly or so rudely by a person who was supposed to be in a management position. I was shocked at his flippant disregard for customer service. The only positive thing I have to say about this company is about Nicole, the officer manager. She was the only person in this whole mess who actually seemed to care about customer service. She refunded me the entire amount I had previously paid and cancelled my contract without a penalty. I received an email to that effect immediately and she called me back shortly and stated she had been able to refund my money directly to my credit card rather than mailing a check as she previously stated. Where to start, oh yea. This company is NOT what you are seeing in these reviews and to me seems to be having family and friends pumping up their feedback status. We have voice recordings of how you will get actually get treated AFTER you start service with them. Lies, manipulation, aggressive, threatening, rude, obnoxious and deceitful people work at Alamo. If you pay for a service, say for "Common bugs" then I should not being seeing an spider here, an ant there, or a silver fish....all very active and alive roaming around inside the house. The owner will come on this post and will go one of two routes...seem to be apologetic or will more than likely take the low road and call us liars. Let's be forthright here, I would not be wasting my time saying all of this if as a pest control brand you were spraying more than watered down "All Natural" pesticides outside around my property. I have better things to do with my time and energy than to call in and have an "Office Manager" call us liars and threaten us and say "No matter what, you have to pay." I don't know what world you live in, but I do not pay for a service that is poorly performed nor for attitudes and arrogance from a Pest Control company that under deliver but certainly will oversell and boast as being the very best. I could go grab a bottle of raid and produce a better output than what this company provides when it comes to pest control. Enough said, here comes the owner to act tough and threaten to take us to court. We will gladly meet you there, because how does that saying go....oh yea...a picture is worth a thousand words...so if that is the case then I wonder how much a voice recording of the rude office manager and video recording of "common bugs" roaming very alive in and around my house is worth....hmmm...well I guess we shall see. Paid $130 for two visits, I think we have more than paid for this poor service that was provided.   See pictures provided. TLDR: Alamo does not actually give a warranty, refuses to complete services, pressures you into upgrading into services they dont perform. Managers don't return calls, they just want your money! The Salesman strongly recommended an upgrade from the "Spot Treatment" that we requested. Although the $375 written estimate was pricey, we agreed to it. After he had done the treatment, he refused to give us the warranty which was the only difference between the lower priced package and the higher one. Alamo then sent an additional bill of $30 for "Tax and services," which they aggressively billed for and I paid. I had Alamo come out and spray when I first moved into my house last year. It worked well and I was pest free. However, to save money, I switched to spraying myself or having my home warranty company send someone. Recently, I have been absolutely spammed with phone calls from Alamo telling me about their current deal. It's a fine deal- but I'm set. I've told them multiple times that I'm not interested and asked to be removed from the list and was told it would be taken care of. Yet still, every Tuesday and Thursday I get a call.
