I miss Michelle at the front desk. I miss my FREE toothbrush and floss/toothpaste at the end of my exam. If the office wants to save money, don't buy the bag they come in or cut the floss/toothpaste. In one hour and a half!!!!!!! He was amazing!!!!! From the phone call I made for my first time visit here to the end, I have never had this type of treatment ever!!!! I got an apt the same day I called, I told them my situation, and right way I was treated!!! I don't usually leave yelp comments but when I do, I know I was extremely happy with the way they helped me. I had a filling on my molar that came out and Dr. Nguyen fixes it the same day. No follow up or nothing. He knows how to work with your time. And trust me when I say "HE WORKS WITH YOUR TIME"!!!! Michelle at the front desk greets me each time as though I am an old friend just coming over for a visit. All of the ladies that have worked on my teeth have been so sweet and kind. Dr. Nguyen always welcomes me as though he is welcoming me into his own home. He remembers who I am and what important things are happening in my life, which is impressive, because all he really needs to worry about are my teeth! I trust his knowledge and judgment completely. I've utilized yelp for a couple of years now but always stopped short of creating an account. Well, I feel compelled to sign up now because the beauty of yelp is for outstanding businesses to be recognized, and in my humble opinion there is no one more deserving than Dr. Nguyen and his crew. I know there are people out there who find going to the dentist a breeze. I am not of that clan. Not exaggerating, but for 35 years, going to the dentist has always caused me great anxiety. Chalk it up to some terrifying memories from childhood, but even going for a regular checkup/cleaning has always been outright torture because of gum sensitivity. Aside from the sadistic dentist from my childhood, there has been a steady stream of not-so-great ones, including one who got annoyed that she couldn't clean my teeth because I kept jumping out of my seat due to severe sensitivity when she ravaged my gums with what looked like an electric needle. Strange that a dentist would not feel even the slightest tinge of empathy for that! Anyway, I digress.... Which brings me back to why it's so essential for me to lavish much deserved praise on Dr. Nguyen and his team. First, he is super clean, possibly OCD. There is not one speck of dust apparent from his waiting room and on to the back stations (and bathroom included) and even his shirts look professionally pressed. Um, I guess when you're tilted down in a dentist chair trying not to concentrate on the drilling in your mouth, you notice these things. Everything is just really clean--everything. EVERYTHING. I guess I'm OCD myself, hence the possible repetitive over-share on the cleanliness here. Most importantly, Dr. Nguyen is possibly the most skilled novocaine injector EVER. You cannot even feel it. Honestly, I don't know how he does it. He makes it seem easy. (And really if it's so easy then why do all the other dentists make it so painful?!--pfft!). This used to be one half of the cause of my anxiety with dentist visits. And, back to the OCD, Dr. Nguyen is very skilled with his work.... with my crown, he kept making little adjustments (that black film he asks you to bite down) repeatedly until it was 100% perfect. And that was just for the temporary crown! Amazing. Michelle at the front desk is possibly one of the nicest humans on the planet. She is always smiling and kind and has infinite patience. Claudia is the hygienist I always see and she is also one of the nicest people ever as well. The entire staff here is just so wonderful.... I don't know if they go out of their way to treat us like family, or if all the kind people in the dental profession just happened to land at Crown Valley Dental. My entire family has been going to Crown Valley Dental for years and seeing Dr Nguyen and his team of wonderful assistants and hygienists. Everyone is so sincere and kind. They listen and attend to all our questions, concerns, fears, and challenges to all our dental needs. It feels like a family in their office and is very warm and welcoming at each of our visits. He arranged for me to go to a local lab and have a technician color and design on the spot to match my crown next to the real front tooth beside it. The details were remarkable and you would not be able to tell the difference from my crown to the real tooth. This did not cost me extra, he just wanted to ensure it look beautiful. My family and I have been going to Dr Nguyen for the last 4 years. I love that his office is small enough to give his patients the time and individual attention. The office is always clean and the staff is extremely friendly and my kids are very comfortable going to the dentist because of Dr. Nguyen and the staff. I've been going to Dr. Nguyen for several years now, and he and his staff just straight out rock. They're all extra friendly, patient people and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable during for what many people justifiably consider an uncomfortable experience. You could eat off his floors, his novacaine injections are nigh painless, and they're all extremely gentle and considerate of how you're doing or feeling during the procedure. They take CareCredit and offer you extra long interest-free terms so you can get it all paid off in time. Most of all, they go out of their way and absorb costs that technically they don't have to. As an example, a few years ago I had a root-canaled tooth that broke off after he recrowned it. He reconstructed the core, got a new crown on... and it broke again right afterwards, requiring yet another crown. Another dentist could have charged me for all those crowns. Dr. N took the cost of two of those crowns, and I only had to pay for one. That was an extraordinary thing to do. He also redid a filling on one of my front teeth for free after it broke off after he just did it just a couple months ago Too long, didn't read? Here's the short version: go to this dentist. I lucked out with the fact that Dr. Nguyen is literally 5 minutes from my house. I no longer have to cringe about the thought of going to the dentist! I have been twice now- once for a cleaning and today I went to get 2 cavities filled. You know those pesky stinging shots they give you prior to getting a cavity filled? Ya - no they didn't exist at my appointment today. Dr. Nguyen's work every time I've been in, has been professional, thorough, friendly, pain-free, and he keeps you informed on what's happening every step of the way. After reading reviews, I decided to check this place out. I was new to the area. The hygienist was very nice but she kept messing up X-rays and had to repeat multiple times which is not very good for your body to be exposed to radiation unnecessarily. I was referred to Dr. Nguyen by my Dr. Jonsson, as being someone kind (that I was looking for in a dentist) and if someone was to save my tooth from a root canal it would be Dr. Nguyen- he is the one. You can find more about the root canal in a different review. First appointment was scheduled the following date after the root canal, he reviewed the questionable tooth and said that he could fix it. We scheduled the crown appointment (for the molar that just got a root canal the day before) He said that he tries to keep as much as your tooth as possible. I did not even need a temporary crown. It was kind of weird having a smaller molar! Third appointment - place half a crown and took care of the questionable tooth without needing a root canal. I also got my teeth cleaned. Overall, it was pleasant experience. Everyone in the office is really nice and professional. I forgot her name but dr. Nguyen dental assistant was really nice and caring. My family recently moved from TX, which of course meant starting all over again with our medical providers. Thankfully I received an amazing recommendation to go see Dr. Nguyen! I have a difficult time with getting really numb during dental procedures, so I've had some painful past experiences and I'm always nervous when going to the dentist. When I first met with Dr. Nyguen I shared my past experiences and concerns, which he listened to and took to heart. First of all, with my employer paid insurance running out and a recommendation from a friend I made a phone call to Crown Valley Dental and the office manager, Michelle was very sensitive to my time constraints and was apt to fit me in for a checkup, ensuring that Dr. Nguyen and his Dental Hygiene specialist Maykou would have the time they needed to do a full cleaning and x rays to make sure that I was all taken care of for the time being. Michelle managed to fit me in because they were extremely busy within a few days due to a cancelation. Luckily I was able to get this appointment because I was in desperate need of a filling and I had severe sensitivity from acid erosion caused by soft drinks that needed to be filled ASAP. I have been nothing less than impressed by the entire staff here. Dr. Nguyen and Claudia his dental assistant just finished my proceedures and I am very happy with the way my mouth feels. I can bight down smoothly without feeling an uneven bight plain as I've always experienced in the past with other dentists. He also did a little bit more for me by polishing a chip for me before he finished and the whole experience was wonderful. I would only recommend Crown Valley Dental and I sincerely appreciate all that has been done for me. The price was more than fair and the treatment was beyond good, this was truly a great experience. My husband's boss referred him to us, and it's difficult to overstate how much I appreciate Dr. Nguyen and his assistants. In the past, I have had TERRIBLE luck with dentists. After moving to SoCal from the east coast we were in need of a family dentist, Dr. Nguyen was referred to us by a family member and we couldnt be happier.   Having spent more time (and money) than most perhaps in the dentist chair (four crowns, numerous fillings) over several decades, I believe that i have a fair perspective on dental practices and procedures. During a routine exam, Dr. N noted an issue with an upper molar, the same one that my former dentist had 'on watch' for several years.  Dr. N recommended a proactive approach through application of a crown in lieu of putting me at risk of a potential dental emergency.  During the removal of old filling and unsalvageable tooth, a hairline fracture in the remaining 'good tooth' was discovered.  In all likelihood had i continued my former dentists 'on watch' approach, its entirely plausible i could have wound up with a dental emergency in the form a root canal.  Although the prospect of a root canal is always with me, I'm super appreciative and grateful for Dr. N's proactive approach. Other areas Dr. N's practice excels.  The use of seemingly basic items for patient comfort - one of several items used during my crown procedure, a dam (or 'tent') that prevented me from ingesting all sorts of unsavory things - I'm still wondering why my former dentists back east did not use these?  I also greatly appreciated the manner in which Dr. N and his staff managed expectations throughout my entire experience from setting appointments, completing forms, hard copy procedure estimates, to close out.  As well, Dr. N's frequent 'checkins' and advisories during my crown procedure significantly reduced my anxiety level compared to all of my previous experiences with other dentists - there were *zero* surprises.  I for one would be thrilled if half the personal service oriented businesses I've encountered operated in the same manner Dr. N's office does. I called to get a consultation for my husband. My husband has a lot of work that needs to be done. I spoke to the wife of the Dentist that was working that day since she said the Manager is on vacation. I asked her if this will be free of charge since I'll be getting other estimates. She said yes she did not get my insurance info and went ahead and booked my appointment then when we're about to go to consultation the day before they informed me that they're going to charge our insurance for consultation or it will be out of our pocket. It's been three weeks since I booked this appointment. The only day that my husband can do it. Moved his other appointments too. They're only letting us know the day before. I have moved to LA and still drive all the way down to Laguna because he is that good. The new offices are state of the art and now I can watch Discovery Channel or another channel while having my teeth done. Dr. Nguyen also stands by his work, I had some work done on a couple teeth and he had me back for some minor repairs for no extra charge.
