Instead of being treated with compassion as a victim, I was treated as if I were the person at fault. My assigned adjuster, Makayla, interrogated me, belittled me, and made me feel like I was the worst person on earth. I was dragged through asphalt in the accident, left injured, and may no longer be able to train as an athlete -- yet she demanded "proof" as though I were exaggerating my condition. I provided a doctor's letter clearly stating that I could not work out for three weeks and that I was excused from work for two weeks. She then demanded multiple pay stubs (despite me already sending one), which felt excessive and invasive. I refused to provide my Social Security information because I did not feel safe or respected in this process. Her manager, Jacob, was no better. In fact, he treated me worse. He accused me of "just being after money." This was insulting and untrue. If I had been solely after money, I would have hired an attorney immediately. Instead, I cooperated fully, sent every piece of documentation they requested (including additional documentation from my doctor), and still was treated with hostility and disbelief. This process ruined my vacation, destroyed the potential for me to compete in an athletic event I had trained for all year, and left me traumatized not only by the accident but also by the treatment I received from this company. To make matters worse, Makayla repeatedly pressured me to settle. She sent me DocuSign agreements and refused to remove language I disagreed with, despite my requests. Without a legal background, I felt taken advantage of and forced into an unfair settlement. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any company. No one should be treated this way after being hit by a car. I am filing this complaint because I do not want anyone else to suffer the same mistreatment and lack of compassion that I endured. Desired Resolution: * A formal apology from the company, Makayla, and Jacob. * A review of their conduct and practices during the claims process. * Assurance that no other victim of an accident will be belittled, interrogated, or accused in the way I was.
