I would just like to say I am completely turned off by the way the pre-meet the design consultant process works. You go through a call center whose only job is to set up an appointment. You cannot ask any questions to gauge whether you might even want to proceed with them. All the call center can do is set up appointments and you can't get past them. If there is a showroom nearby, you can go there but it is not really set up for meeting with homeowners. They also ask a lot of unnecessary questions. For example, for a window replacement they ask how old the window to be replaced is, what problems you are having with it, how old it is, etc. Who cares? We find process very annoying compared to other companies where you can actually speak to someone first about their product and get a ball park figure of about how much it would cost, understanding of course, that the final estimate depends on the exact measurements, and some other factors.

I had a window issue in my new home that I couldn't find anyone to help with. I contacted multiple contractors and different companies and it was clear my business was never important - I'd get ghosted for appointments, took months to get quotes, and more. I finally found Smart Shield and was contacted almost immediately after requesting a callback. The owner, Bryan, was so incredibly kind, thorough, and knowledgeable. He helped customize a plan for our home based on what would remedy our current situation and prevent future issues. The process to get started was easy (and very digital which earns extra bonus points in my book) and it was a few weeks until installation. The installation went great and I've never had an issue with the windows. It went so well, that we had Smart Shield come back and put in new doors for us, more window replacements, and replace our siding. While that was a bigger job, the process was just as wonderful. The team at Smart Shield is HIGHLY communicative. The installation crew are all lovely, respectful, and masters of their craft. They have impeccable clean up after as well! They are my first call whenever we need something done and will continue to be the only company I recommend. They built them in the shop and installed them, they look GREAT. The crew that installed the windows were very neat and cleaned up before they left. Even cleaned the windows so I didn't have to. Had Bethlehem windows install our Bay window a few years ago. I had to get the window manufacturer involved for them to take the wrong size window out and put the new window in . Since then it's been nothing but a problem. They've been out before to fix the leaks and say the caulking is bad .? How can this be ? When you caulk a tub and water is used it don't leak ? This is by far one of the worst experiences ever . I had windows put in the rest of my home my a local one man company and haven't had one issue once !!! They lost out on that job because of the owners attitude and when he conducts his business . He's a poor business man with a bad attitude he's all about the money not what the customer needs . I don't recommend them to any one !

The screws on 2 of 3 pairs of shutters that I purchased also fell off and needed to be replace within a short period of time. The company is not honoring the guarantee of their work. The remaining 2 screws has taken their turn into falling out now. I have made quite a few calls to this office over a period of a month requesting for service. This office have been ignoring my request. I want to highly stress that the 2 remaining screws are the only items that's holding up my shutter now and the shutters are in high risk of falling. I would not recommend this product nor the installation.

No other contractor, painting or otherwise has been as diligent at getting back to me with an estimates for the work. He was very neat as promised, not using the sinks to clean brushes and left the apartment in great condition, These apartments are very old and not the easiest painting project, In fact this most recent apartment probably hadn't been painted in 20 years and I asked him to paint very old dirty cabinets since I didn't want to replace them.
