It proved difficult to find a photographer within my price range that had quality photos that I liked. Fidelio was perfect for us. This review is from the family photo perspective. Pros: - 2 photographers. Jessica does a lot of the official "smile now, kids, damnit" photos while her husband Lyle gets a lot of the candid moments that often go missed. What you get with this combination is an awesome set of photos you'll have on your mantel, and the photos you'll actually treasure that have some of the irreverent moments. - The photos. I'm not an extremely emotional person, but some of them brought tears to my eyes. We had three generations at our photo shoot, and some of the ones of my grandparents especially were just really touching. - Jessica and Lyle were great to work with. Professional but personable, and when we had ideas for shots they were totally willing to do them. They bring the artistry of professional photographers, but not the snobbery--if you have an idea they are definitely willing to run with it. Con - We had our photos done at a really busy time for Jessica and Lyle and had to wait a while (~ 2 1/2 weeks, which could be entirely normal, I'm not a big family photo connoisseur) for our photos. That said, they were awesome and entirely worth the wait.

We initially had to cancel our date with him due to sickness, and he happily obliged with no issue. I couldn't be present for the rescheduled shoot, but my family told me Grant was great and that the shoot itself was fun, which is about as much as you could possibly ask when something involves a 3 year old :) Additionally, Grant seems to default to delivery of images on disc, but when I asked if he could simply send me a digital transfer he immediately created a Dropbox folder & shared -- no questions asked. The pictures were exactly what we were hoping for -- casual, in motion, just capturing the moment-to-moment of a child's young life.

Our family recently worked with Melissa for a photo session. While she was pleasant during the…read moreshoot itself, I want to share some details for others to be aware of before booking. I paid a $500 session fee, which I understood to include both the photos and her time. However, after the shoot, I learned that the $500 only covered her time to take the photos -- no images were included. I wasn't provided a contract or price list beforehand, even though I asked. She later said she had emailed it but it must not have gone through. The delivery timeline for the photos changed several times, and when I finally received the proofs, the prices were far higher than expected. Packages ranged from about $4,700 (marked down) to $345 for a single photo. When I asked about purchasing just the digital files, I wasn't given a clear answer. The photos themselves were nice, but the overall lack of transparency and communication around pricing and deliverables made this experience frustrating and disappointing. I'd recommend getting everything in writing -- including all pricing and what's included -- before booking.
