It would be a lower rating but the flowers were beautiful so I am cutting them some slack. Plus Covid is still a thing in Sept. 2020. I do not live in NYC but someone I know does. I found Alaric Flowers on-line and I liked the style of flowers they create. I glanced at the Yelp review and it was 5 stars. I questioned that a little but I liked it and ordered the flowers. On the website of the flower shop the check out was rather simple and straight to the point. Where are they going and payment info. Boom - fast and easy, ... Too easy.? I realized right after the transaction was complete it did not ask anything about sending a message or a day or time for delivery. Shortly there after I received a confirmation e-mail but no follow up to the ask about delivery or messages. At this point it was 9am west coast time and noon in NYC. I wrote back to the e-mail and stated my concern. Then I called the number on the website... no answer. Not only no answer but no answering machine stating the name of the shop, just a message like "the costumer you are calling is not available, leave a message after the tone." I attempted to call at least 20 to 30 times. I left several messages. I revisited the yelp review and Facebook and searched the web about this shop and I could not find anything or any reviews about the shop for a couple of years. Now I am concerned. I checked my bank and the payment info I submitted went through. ??? So I have a confirmation e-mail and my bank reflected the charge but I could not contact a human at the shop. I waffled between wondering if they were shut down due to Covid and/ or am I being hacked and everything in between? Several hours later I was pretty sure that I had been hacked and I was just about the call my bank to stop the payment but I decided to send one last request to the e-mail I received with this message: "I would very much appreciate a call back about this order." and I left my phone number. About a half hour later at 1pm Pacific I received a call from the delivery man. Sadly I could barely understand him but I figured out he was telling me that he had delivered the flowers. I asked again and he confirmed that he had delivered them. That was great but I wanted them delivered the next day and I was not given a chance to submit a message with the flowers. Soon there after I received a message from my mother who's Birthday it was the next day and she said, "Well........I just received beautiful flowers but there was no card. I'm assuming they are from you & the girls." She was correct and I was relieved but I was sad how the whole transaction went down. They seem to do beautiful work but the on-line presence and the costumer service leave a lot to be desired. read more

All I can say is wow, these flowers had the EXACT EFFECT that I wanted them to. I ordered about a week and a half in advanced for Valentine's day. After viewing some of the pictures on their site, I was able to describe the style and colors that I was looking for, and left the rest in their capable hands. So for $150, I thought, this better be worth it. On V-day, they delivered at exactly 9:30 as stated, and I got a voicemail from my lady - totally impressed. Later at dinner, she spent like 15 minutes talking about the flowers. They were so beautiful, and interesting, and everyone in her office came by her office and smelled and admired them - although according to her they didn't need to come that close, the fresh medley of flowers could be smelled two doors down - each flower had it's own unique smell, but the combination was a concoction to rival any perfume. She ran around the room and picked up different kind of flowers, returning to the wall mirror occasionally to check the balance and coloring of the bouquet that was forming in her hands. She was quick as frail petals and excessive leaves were plucked before I even realized where she had pulled them from. In minutes, this beautiful bloom of flowers formed before your eyes. I had ordered a simple white bloom arrangement (or so I thought) and what I got was a full, beautiful bouquet enough to fill my arms. These flowers are stunning! My colleague put together an amazing event, and one of the things that we all remarked about were the flower arrangements that she had done. The next day, the rest of us decided to get her a couple of arrangements to say thank you for the spectacular evening that she gave to the rest of us. I called up Alaric, and they were able to put together two great looking arrangements and deliver them that afternoon. The flowers arrived looking absolutely fantastic. I asked for something different than I saw on their website, and they were more than accommodating. Since I was ordering the same day, they give me everything that I wanted (ie I asked for peonies, but they wouldn't have them until the next day). I can't even imagine what they could've done if I had given a little more notice and time to actually design something! I will say that they were a little bit pricey.
