Nice lounge tucked away and accessed by elevator or stairs to the left…read more This was my 1st at this Delta Sky Club as I normally go to the Escape. I really liked my experience here for a few reasons. It is less busy so quieter. 3 areas of seating with lots of outlets. There is an business area if you need to print something or work on your laptop. I like the extra touches on the food and drink options. I like that they had a lot of fresh fruit (the other lounge usually runs out so disappointment for my kiddos), vegetarian sausage for the hot breakfast line up, and my favorite chia seed pudding as well as oatmeal, cereals, hard boiled eggs, cheeses and wide selection of baked goods. They had fresh fruit and mint for the lemonade, various Rishi tea options and candied ginger to upgrade your tumeric ginger tea. The decor is not as modern compared to all the renovated areas of PDX as mentioned by another review. However I would definitely come back if I am travelling with Delta. Thank you to the morning crew of this lounge for making my early morning flight experience a great one.

Walked into this lounge and it was clean, organized and the staff was pretty friendly and knowledgeable. Food-wise could be improved but I don't expect much from an American-style lounge. The food was just ok, had some cold cuts, cold sandwiches, and cold pasta salads. I would say there is always room for improvement in the food! But it's ok.

We were very early for our flight and were so happy that we could use the Alaska Lounge. Ronnie…read moregreeted us warmly and told us the layout of the lounge. The lounge is very large with lots of seating and work areas with a lot of natural light coming in. The bar area is well separated from the food service area. They offer an array of hot and cold food items, a coffee bar, a salad bar, a selection of snack items, as well as dessert items. We were content to have a quiet, comfortable place to sit, read, work and relax while waiting for our flight. The staff was very friendly. The lounge was kept very clean. We only tried the broccoli cheddar soup and the oatmeal raisin cookies. They both were freshly prepared and delicious. Thank you for a comfortable respite!

In short, both drinks should have been complimentary but when stating that fact and the supporting reason, Susie motioned to her forehead and said she couldn't read that on my spouse's forehead. She said that rather loudly and twice. I told her that he had stated the facts twice prior to ordering when she told us to move from one side of the bar to where she would prepare our drinks. If anyone were to watch a video of the bar area at that specific time, they'd see Susie's hand motions waving over her forward as she told my spouse that she couldn't read that on his forehead.... They'd see our expressions as well. We usually tip when ordering at the bar but my spouse, rightfully so, put the cash back into his wallet. We spent the remaining 30 minutes watching her facial expressions, or lack thereof, with other customers. We felt uncomfortable with this specific individual, hopefully training is provided to avoid any similar attitudes towards other guests. Please note, others working were welcoming and kind.

I live in Portland and had an interesting problem to solve. I had about 3000 Hyatt points expiring…read moreat the end of the month and I wasn't really sure what to do with them as there were not enough points to trade for something like airline miles. So I checked out the Hyatt website and found out that you can exchange Hyatt points for dining and I could use the points to pay for a meal at this hotel. I stopped by the spoke and Fork patio and had a really lovely vegan lunch. The beyond burger was extremely ample and had lots of good toppings and the salad that it came with also was really ample. I had my heart set on trying the Mapo tofu, but unfortunately, it was only available for dinner. Now that I have been here, I know that this would be a great spot to of course stop by before a show or event at the moda center. I'm sure it gets busier on those days but on a casual lunch date, I got to treat myself, enjoy a free meal, and get introduced to a new little spot to come hang out before a show or event. They were efficient in handling my points request as well.

The atmosphere is modern and the rooms are reasonably spacious, though a little small for bathroom space. The views of the city are also pretty cool, depending on which side you're on. Our room had a great evening skyline view. A note with this property is their "fridges". They have a "beverage chiller" in the spot where a fridge would go in a regular hotel situation, however it only somewhat cools. When we called, they mentioned this isn't a real fridge and we could pay $45 to get a fridge that keeps things cold. If you didn't look closely, it's hard to notice the difference and any food you have in this beverage chiller would spoil. Once I called and heard about the fee, it felt like a tactic to add charges. Based on this, I wouldn't stay here again both because of the lack of convenience of not having a fridge in this level of hotel and not wanting to pay $45 to have access to this. That part is a shame because the rest of the hotel is clean and modern and the location on the east side is great!
