Surprisingly large, and uncrowded at the Portland airport, the Escape Lounge provided a complementary place to eat/drink while we waited for our flight back to Los Angeles. I wasn't expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised by the food, drink, and especially the friendly and helpful employees of the lounge. My wife, her mom, and I came to the Escape lounge in Concourse D on a Saturday, and were greeted by a super friendly and chipper attendant who checked us in. There are many ways to gain entry, two of which I had privileges: via Priority Pass (provided by Chase Sapphire Reserve) and via American Express access (provided by the AMEX Delta Reserve if flying on a Delta flight). Unlike the nearby Delta Skyclub, one can enter even if on a Delta Basic ticket. It was easier using Priority Pass since those come with 2 additional guests, but did confirm that if there are capacity constraints, the AMEX guests would get priority. Once approved, an elevator (or stairs) must be taken up to enter the lounge. Once you enter, there are complementary lockers to store your stuff. The middle of the room has a small wooden rotunda, mimicking the style of the wooden ceiling at the airport. There is a small buffet with non-traditional choices (this day it was Indian, with butter chicken and naan, and other choices like sandwiches). A nice waiter came around to ask if I wanted a drink (I obliged with a local pils), and kept coming back to refill as I finished. The beer was very good, confirming how good the local beer here is in Portland. The bathrooms are nice but small, with full coverage stalls. Some people were asking about the sleeping rooms, and were told that it's first come/first serve. As I was leaving, I noticed how relaxed I was, before heading to board the plane. It definitely had a lot to do with the niceness of the employees at the airport, especially the folks at the Escape lounge. read more

The bartender Aaron is clearly unhappy and not meant be in customer-facing service industry, hell, he was even arguing with his coworkers when we walked in. Message to management, to find a replacement. He did perform his basic duty of serving drinks and that's appreciated. Food was absolutely atrocious. I've gone here about 3 times since they've opened and while I miss Capers being apart of Priority Pass, I'm super excited for Escape Lounge. First off I love how large it is, I've never had to wait when trying to go here. The food is always well stocked and most of it is wholesome nutritious food with a variety of salads, dips, protein roasts, really tasty vegan food, and soup. The cookies here are fantastic. I'm not a huge cookie guy, but I can't help myself but have 2-3 every time. The staff are one of the friendliest and most attentive of any lounge staff in America. The bartenders are fantastic and are very social and can make pretty much anything I've thrown at them. Pro tip...utilize the lockers when you head up the elevators so you don't have to haul them around everywhere. Also very handy if you have to leave for any reason and don't want to haul your luggage and will return later. Also there are 2 private beds for you to take a quick nap in which is fantastic. read more

Quite a nice lounge! Priority pass access available (as of 05/2026). Seemed that they had an all day hot food buffet. When I went (about 3pm-5pm on a weekday) the options were fantastic and I was able to load a plate even with vegetarian options. They had very nice espresso machine operating. The bartenders were very kind and helpful, though I was sticking to ginger ale they had many great options available. Would return to this lounge if I'm back in PDX! read more

First of all: you can fucking sleep here. Second of all: you can fucking sleep here! This is unlike any Alaska Airlines lounge or most any other airline or credit card lounge, for that matter. In fact, this lounge is single-handedly the only reason I renewed one of my credit cards with an outrageous annual fee. Not only can you sleep here though, the service and food are also better. When I walked in I was handed a mimosa and told about the quiet rooms (with beds). And when I went to check one out, they asked me if I needed help getting the bed setup! I had an amazing HOUR of sleep here when my flight was delayed. I just hope this place doesn't become overcrowded like every other airport lounge. I will definitely be back! read more

Experienced this spot during a layover at PDX and it was the perfect place to hang during our layover. Admission was $45, which we paid in advance. It is WELL worth it. Unlimited food and drinks. They even have servers waiting on you. Our waiter kept our wine glasses filled. They had a great selection of foods and accommodated dietary restrictions. The Escape Lounge inside Portland International Airport (PDX) is a great spot to chill if you're early for your flight. I tend to arrive early for all my travels to avoid stress TSA line (or just traffic to a new airport, in general). This is very nice when there's a lot of lounges tied to airlines. The Escape Lounge has an checkin process so don't lets the lady at the "concierge desk" fool you. She will direct you to scan QR code displayed at the entrance. Once you app check in, the app uses a helpful queue system that alerts you when it's your turn to enter. The lounge is located on the 2nd floor and once enter there are small lockers to stow personal items. There are plenty of seats but I saw a lot of folks hanging by the bar (additional fee for alcohols)! Ha! I went straight to the "hot bar" -- pasta, roasted potatoes, etc. It's well-stocked with chips + snacks and fruit is perfect if your flight falls between meal times. The food is replenished quickly and the bathrooms are clean. read more

I've had the fortune of being in this lounge while traveling to and connecting through the Portland airport. The location of the Escape Lounge is on the D concourse so if your planner, note that you could be on the opposite side with your departure gate, and that might be a 15 min walk from one terminal to another. Checking in at the lounge was straightforward via the American Express Eligibility code. You do need to take the elevator upstairs if you have bags, as there are a series of stairs. Once you get upstairs, there's a great view of both the runway as well as an overlook of the terminal concourse. There is a full bar & just like all other places, they're complementary drinks along with Premium cocktails, and they're very clearly shelved to help anyone understand what they wanna mix. As far as the food is concerned, I like the variety of snacks ranging from chips, cookies, donuts & fruit, but also some lounge food and sandwiches. Not all of the food was to my immediate liking, but I like the fact that the staff kept refreshing items at a prompt pace as needed, as well as keeping the area clean. Bartenders were great and nice, and the staff that was responsible for cleaning did an excellent job of following through. I would definitely arrive here early again to be in the lounge as it's chill & comfortable. They also have two TVs over the bar area to stay connected during major sporting events. read more

They have a small selection of hot foods, nothing to rave about. Bar had draft beer, cocktails and wines included. I had a HAZY IPA which was great. I also saw some local breweries available like Great Notion. They also have a COAVA COFFEE machine. Self serve. The espresso was strong and had lots of crema so that was impressive! My fiancé and I visited this lounge on our way home, one a Tuesday afternoon. It is located near gate D8/D1 which can be accessed whether you in the D or E gates. If you're in the B & C gates, I heard you can go through a hallway to access it too! From the beginning, ie. The outside, i could tell it's the nicest escape lounge I've been to. It's also the biggest escape lounge I've ever been to - and the front desk team confirmed it. It was beautiful. And the front desk team was very friendly and welcoming. Once we sat down (and there was ample places to seat with ample outlets for chatting!), a guest services member immediately offered yo get us drinks and help us in any way. Food bar was very impressive with great food options (Thai green curry, mixed veggies, donuts, salad bar, very good meatballs!) and many drink options. We enjoyed our time! It was comfortable and we felt spoiled! And will definitely come again! read more

With the use of my Priority Pass Card, I had access to the Escape Lounge without any need for a reservation. This lounge seems to have opened quite recently and I have to say it was such a refreshing site to see when arriving at the airport. This location is probably one of the nicer PP Lounges in the States you could find (outside of Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounges). After you check-in with the front desk, you can take the flight of stairs or elevator and head out to the second floor. With ample lighting and tons of seating selections you can enjoy a closed off quiet room with dim lighting, individual egg chairs with a working desk, booths, and even a kids play area. They had a wide array of seating areas With a full bar smackdab in the center you can enjoy your signature drink of choice. What stood out to me was how they had shower rooms available for use which were individual rooms outside of their standard bathrooms. There was a mini buffet of hot and cold foods, fruit, yogurt, soups, and more. It was pretty solid and filling which was a plus. read more

We have visited a few lounges now through our Priority Pass with Capital One Venture X. The Escape Lounge has been one on the better ones so far. We came in on a Monday morning before our flight. It's on the second floor of Terminal D, so it's a bit out of the way if your flight is in one of the other terminals. There are really the only downside. It was not crowded when we visited and there was a nice breakfast spread including eggs, sausage, bacon, cereals, fruit and some other items. There was a good selection of coffees options. The lounge itself was clean and well maintained. There is a full bar which is included with your entry. This was not expected and a nice surprise, so we went with a Bloody Mary and mimosas. Both were delicious. We got a nice spot near the window and spent about an hour here. Definitely a must do if you have time to kill at PDX. read more

The lounge is complimentary for AE holders, priority pass and a few other partner perks. It has pretty nice views of the sunrise. The food selection is limited and the bar was pretty basic. Food selection includes fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, pineapple, grapes), there were some unpeeled oranges, bananas, apples as well as well as yogurt with fruit in it. Few pastry options, hot and cold cereal. Coffee machine and a water dispenser with still or sparkling options. It has many seating options and a private work room. It is $40-45 depending on how you book otherwise. I don't think it is worth it unless you really need to utilize the shower and have a super long layover. They allow up to 3 hours before your flight. All staff were friendly. Last thought. I wish they had an escalator since the lounge is upstairs from check in and there is one small elevator or stairs. read more

Have used this lounge at PDX a couple times and grateful to have it. They have some good food options, plentiful beverages and lots of seating options. While we haven't used it, we've seen that some of the rooms can be made private with curtains that close (over the glass walls) and a fold down bed. Great if you need a little shut eye. They open pretty early and are open late so we've always been able to come on our way out of town. read more

After getting the new Chase Sapphire card one of the best perks in having access to Priority Pass which means I can hang out at the Escape Lounge at the PDX airport. There wasn't a line so we checked in with a boarding pass and the priority pass card. What's really great is you can bring up to 2 people free of charge. The elevator is fun with floor to ceiling roses and the design is very Portland! There is an elevator as well as stairs. Lots of wood material, greens and earth tones and beautiful glass leaves hanging from the ceiling. The food station has many options (breakfast) oatmeal with a topping bar, eggs, potatoes, sausage, fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt with a topping bar, pastries muffins bread, tea, juice and fancy coffee drinks. The bartender is awesome and free cocktails make the lounge a great option! Lots of different seating areas too. read more

Visited while flying from PDX to SFO. Very welcome addition to the newly renovated terminal at PDX. Lounge is very clean and features a full suite of amenities: buffet, cocktails, bathrooms, showers, and more. Staff is friendly, welcoming, and informative. Tables bussed by staff too. Visited early in the morning so didn't opt for any cocktails, although they were offered which was still a nice gesture. Went for the buffet and I got scrambled eggs, sausage, and overnight oats. Really solid for a lounge buffet. They also have a fancy coffee machine so I got an espresso that was a bit bitter but did the job. Water comes from a self fill station. Conveniently located and accepts priority pass. Something I look forward to now whenever leaving PDX. read more

Food choice today was Jasmine rice and hummus and some mushroom and chicken sauce. A few sweet treats etc. There were other things like sandwiches and salads etc. I think my favorite was actually the carrots. The worker I bumped into wasn't that friendly like at all. They obviously hated my outfit or the way I pronounced the word worchestire or something. Concierge person at the main floor was pleasant. Would come back again. A beautiful lounge in PDX! I last visited this airport in 2023 and they have made some major improvements since then :) This lounge is a great addition! It's located in Concourse D, next to Gate D8. I entered with my Priority Pass membership and brought in one guest. The employees checking me in were very welcoming and friendly. The lounge is upstairs, and has a TON of seating with large open windows facing some of the runways. The interior is beautiful with really nice seating and decor. Everything is included, food and drinks. We got the breakfast menu, which included eggs, potatoes, sausages, oatmeal+toppings, cottage cheese, yogurt, fruit, pastries, and more! They also had a nice coffee machine and juices and water spout. The employees were super attentive and always came by to grab empty plates, I appreciated their high level of service. Didn't get a chance to try the full bar but maybe next time! The only thing was I couldn't connect to wi-fi properly, maybe I sat too close to the window so I didn't have a great connection. Not a big deal since I didnt stay in the lounge for too long. Overall, I will definitely return to this lounge whenever I visit Portland! read more

As someone who travels often, finding a nice quiet space in the airport is necessary. This brand new escape lounge is the perfect place for that (I'm currently here writing this review). Escape lounges don't always have the best reputations, they are often small, dirty and lacking in all aspects but not this one! Portland truly knocked it out of the park with space and design. There is no shortage of seating and though the food is the same at all the escape lounges the food here is more tasty! The staff is also extremely pleasant. I truly hope this place doesn't get rundown like most of the escape lounges I've been to! 10/10-job well done pdx. read more

I am a die-hard Delta lounge fan (due to, you guessed it, being a die-hard Delta frequent flier). Nevertheless, sometimes I must be forced to fly other airlines, and/or travel with people flying other airlines (Alaska Airlines represent!). Yes, I have guest pass privileges at the Delta Lounge, but they aren't so all-powerful that my guest(s) can be flying anything other than Delta in order to be allowed in. That would be CHAOS. What I love about Escape Lounge is, first and foremost, that it provides a glorious alternative lounge directly across from the lounge I'm used to going, where I can hang with my non-Delta companions. It's all-inclusive airline-wise (competing airline fliers can all mingle with nary a whiff of West Side Story style dance-off rivalries). Now, here's another thing I'll say: Of all the airports in all the land, PDX is the one LEAST in need of lounges. The food, shopping, and general ambiance is immaculate. I do indeed occasionally rue my slavish devotion to The Lounge Life, as I miss out on SO MANY GREAT AIRPORT DINING OPTIONS. Alas, the lounge life is the life for me: I need to be able to leave my backpack on a chair while I run to the bathroom and know no one is going to swipe it or report it as a potential bomb threat; connect my laptop to a reliable outlet next to a comfortable chair with a table nearby; and attend the many (many) meetings that fund my travel habit in a semi-quiet location. THUS: Escape. (For certain scenarios). The SECOND thing I love about Escape is that it opens AS EARLY AS IT SHOULD. SO MANY FLIGHTS from the West Coast have boarding times at like 5:10 a.m. This makes sense, because the East Coast is 3 hours ahead of us, and MOST of us are traveling East when we fly just by the very nature of travel: If you go West, you've got the Pacific to contend with. Flights to Hong Kong and Tokyo from PDX are just not as frequent as flights to New York, Chicago, Philly, DC, Boston, and I dunno, Detroit or Toronto. And those going North or South are generally taking hourly shuttles to SEA-TAC, LAX, SFO, and all those storied three-letter hotspots. Anyway, my point is this: A lounge at PDX should open EARLY. Escape does that: A 3:30 a.m. opening time means that you actually have some time to chug some java or sit quietly and close your eyes "for just a minute" and miss your flight. The Delta lounge doesn't open until 4:15 - and while that 45 minutes may not sound like a lot, IT IS when you have to sit on a hard chair staring at a blank wall waiting for your lounge to open. Now, does Escape have hot food at 3:30? No. Does Delta have hot food at 4:15? Yes. So keep that in mind. My ideal early morning routine is: Pop into Escape at 3:30 for some shuteye and EXTREMELY DECENT coffee and then cross the concourse to the Delta lounge at 4:15 for a quick breakfast before boarding at 5. In terms of food quality: Delta lounge wins, hands down. Escape has an edge on the coffee quality, though. So honestly? Even if you're NOT doing an early-boarding situation, you might want to grab a cuppa from Escape and then bounce to Delta. (Again, this really only applies to people with that choice, which I don't imagine is vanishingly small. If you're the type of person who reads airport lounge reviews, there's a chance we share similar jet-setting lifestyles and lounge options). Another thing Escape has over Delta? SHOWERS! PDX isn't really a layover airport, but if you have a long one here, give it a go. Stay fresh, homies. Here is where I'll deviate from my head-to-head comparison of Escape vs Delta Lounges: Escape Lounge at PDX is by far one of the best Priority Pass-style dedicated lounges in an airport. It's not as good as San Diego's PP lounge by any stretch of the imagination (next time you're in San Diego, PLEASE pay it a visit), but it is top-tier in terms of Priority Pass lounges at secondary-market airports that I've visited so far. It's gorgeous with thoughtful design touches and fabulous windows and views of planes doing plane stuff (Taking off! Landing! Taxiing! Give those pilots a hearty hello wave!). HOWEVER. Food quality is a MAJOR step down to how PP USED to work at PDX: You used to take your membership card to Capers for a hella tasty sit-down breakfast, or use it to buy a king's ransom of delicious to-go grub from the market. So while the brick-and-mortar of the lounge situation is a vast improvement, the food situation is a HUGE downgrade. If you're coming here primarily for the grub, bite the bullet and purchase something from one of the many (many) amazing vendors in the public areas of our crown jewel of an airport. read more

This is a great lounge option at the Portland International Airport. I am an AMEX platinum holder as well as a priority pass card holder so this was a free to enter lounge, which was great since I arrived early for my flight and then there was an hour delay so I had three hours to kill. Non card holders can enter for $45 at the counter or $40 if booked online. That's a small price to pay at an airport for an open bar service as well as food being provided. I entered around 7:30 am on a Saturday and it was very quiet. I think there were maybe six other people in the entire lounge. There was a nice basic breakfast buffet being served as well as an extensive open bar. I interacted with three different staff members while I was there for about two hours. They were all very pleasant. By the time I left, it was starting to get quite busy. There are ample areas to sit if you don't want to be very social and a variety of different kinds of seating options, almost all of which had functioning charging ports. Modern decor and a flowing design with a view looking out on the runway as well as quiet rooms with curtains you can draw if you need privacy means that you won't feel like you're stuck in an outdated lackluster space while you hang out here. As a Chase Sapphire Reserve member, I was really looking forward to checking out the new Escape Lounge at PDX. I'd been hearing good things and was excited to finally experience it before my flight. The lounge looks amazing from the outside. Unfortunately, that's as far as I got. When I arrived at the door, I was told the lounge was temporarily closed for a private event. No prior notice, nothing in the priority pass app to give a heads-up. After making time in my schedule to arrive early and enjoy the space, it was a huge letdown to be turned away without any alternative offered. Giving 2 stars because the design looks impressive and I hope to come back when it's actually open--but for now, it's more of a frustrating tease than a premium experience. read more
