My fiancé and I had an unbelievable time!! Mark Miller and his staff gave us the best Alaskan experience anyone could ever ask for! First off.. the only way to get there is by Bush plane from the Anchorage airport. We were picked up and flown to the beautiful and quite Talaheim lodge. Once we landed we were given a tour of the grounds, which are beautiful and we were taken to our cabin. My fiancé and I had our own two story cabin with running water, electricity and a fireplace. It was perfect! During our vacation at the lodge we went on fishing excursions with our very own guide (who made us a great lunch), we went heli-hiking to Beluga Mountains, we took a helicopter to a glacier, we read, relaxed, had the BEST food and heard the most amazing stories that were told by the owner, Mark Miller. I would go back from Mark's stories alone. He was an incredible host and has a very friendly and talented staff. I can't wait to go back!

Everything they promise on their website is that much and more. We were greeted by the staff upon arrival by plane, and shown our accommodations. We loved our cabin next to the lodge and it was the perfect comfy cozy room to come home to after a long day on the water. The food was amazing! The guides all knowledgeable, the sights seen from a helicopter priceless including a HUGE grizzly on a ridge, 3 black wolves and bull moose grazing. It is hard to not repeat the previous reviewer but add instead. Both my husband and I are experience flyfishers and the fishing was smokin' hot! We used streamers, egg and mouse patterns, droppers, poppers and dries when needed. We lost count of fish count within the first hour or two. They are measured by pounds not by inches. Silvers, Dollies, Pinks, 'Bows, on and on......Since this is a small lodge, you became friendly with the other guests and staff pretty quick. A fun group. I appreciated the snacks and drinks in the mini fridge that was refreshed daily as well as the Alaska Ale on tap and wine after a long rewarding day out. When the valet retrieved my vehicle, I was informed that my tire was flat and loose. By loose, he meant that the tire was off the rim. My truck was not dropped off in that condition. The tire was clearly not flat or off the rim when I drove in and left the vehicle. Additionally, the check-in attendant did not note or mention any issue with the tire when my vehicle was signed in, which further confirms it was not in that condition at drop-off. A During this interaction, the attendant simply handed me my keys and walked away. There was no direction given to return to the front desk or complete any type of incident report or claim. He picked us up from our hotel and we flew for about 2.5 hours to destination. En route to Brooks Camp, he narrated the coast line, volcanoes, and the lakes and rivers underneath. Once we get there, he accompanied us to the viewing platform and then waited for us to return. He provided us home-made king salmon salad and several snack for lunch. On our way back, he took a different route over Lake Clarks and the valley with glaciers on both sides. We saw rivers with spawning salmons, bears and caribous wandering on grasslands. The flight was entertaining and safe. Steve was very knowledgeable about the area and told us many stories. We truly enjoyed the trip with him.

Worth every penny, but 900 dollars is a lotta moolah to come up with. What's nice is they do have some off the rack Parkys, most of what they sell is custom made. You specify your size, fur type and lining and you'll end up with a perfect fitting, cozy piece of Alaskan art. If you've never seen a parky, it's a bit of genius. Most winter parkas are just too darn short and your butt gets cold. Parkys are fab because they are a jacket with cute little skirt attached which 1- looks cute and 2- keeps your tookas toasty. They're adorned with ribbon and fur in just the right places to be both feminine and functional. Ladies, on those cold winter nights you can be warm and still look like a lady- I give you the Parky! My mom and I went to Seavey's last night for dinner and the show. We had a wonderful time. The…read morecrowd for dinner (at 6 p.m.) was smallish and allowed for a lot of chatting with the mushers (guys, and presumably gals, who lead the teams of dogs). They had a nice slide show that, despite a few typos, was really informative and interesting. The slide show led to some good questions to ask the mushers. Plus, dinner was good. I mean, have you ever had a buffet dinner with a bunch of tourists that was good? It wasn't only good, it was delicious. They served a baby herb salad (fresh as can be), grilled chicken (I didn't try that), amazing garlic mashed potatoes, slow-cooked perfectly spiced NY Strip roast, and entirely decent rolls. Dessert was NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. After dinner we walked through the kennel area, petting the dogs and snuggling a new litter of puppies. The mushers were super-friendly and helped everyone take nice photos with the dogs (eg getting them sit, stay, and to look at the camera). We made our way to covered bleacher seating for the "rodeo"/sleddog demonstration. The demonstration had some little stories thrown in that were cute and entertaining. We were able to see and learn about the different positions the dogs can take -- lead dogs, wheel dogs, where you put the dogs that aren't quite so clever, etc. We saw one of the wheel dogs pull 800 lbs, and a team of 16 dogs pull an entire pick-up truck put in neutral. We had a really nice evening with Dallas Seavey, the other mushers, and their dogs. I'd recommend their show without reservation.
