The log cabin in front is more of a welcome center and has some history and a greeter. The larger building in the back is more of where the magic happens. That is where you will find all the attraction brochures and the information of what is operating during that time of year. Both buildings are very clean and organized and they are strategically located by quite a few souvenir shops. There is metered street parking on the street in front of and adjacent to the Center. It was very helpful and got me a good itinerary put together. Like I said, this is a must stop when you are planning things to do during your vacation in anchorage.

It has a wonderful view of the inlet and it's located along the coastal trail so you could go for a walk after touring the house. It's definitely worth a stop and look.

I cannot remember the…read moregirls name who did our tour (June 16th, 2023 9:00 am tour) but she was so sweet and so informative. She was extreme friendly and engaging with the group. We met at the center and then headed into Kincaid Park. We saw some moose on the way into the park and they stopped to let us get a closer look! They set up all the bikes for us and had water, rain coats and gloves since the weather forecast for our trip was rainy. She did a great job giving us the history on the stops through our 10 mile ride. It was relatively flat and the entire path is paved and there were some hills but wasn't too bad. The mosquitos were out even though it was chilly outside so bring bug spray to be prepared. We ran into a mom and 2 baby moose on our trip and had to wait out to see which way they went. Again do I think you can rent bikes and do this yourself - yes but you won't get the history lesson with it and I think that makes it all the difference.

My fiancé and I had an unbelievable time!! Mark Miller and his staff gave us the best Alaskan experience anyone could ever ask for! First off.. the only way to get there is by Bush plane from the Anchorage airport. We were picked up and flown to the beautiful and quite Talaheim lodge. Once we landed we were given a tour of the grounds, which are beautiful and we were taken to our cabin. My fiancé and I had our own two story cabin with running water, electricity and a fireplace. It was perfect! During our vacation at the lodge we went on fishing excursions with our very own guide (who made us a great lunch), we went heli-hiking to Beluga Mountains, we took a helicopter to a glacier, we read, relaxed, had the BEST food and heard the most amazing stories that were told by the owner, Mark Miller. I would go back from Mark's stories alone. He was an incredible host and has a very friendly and talented staff. I can't wait to go back!

Everything they promise on their website is that much and more. We were greeted by the staff upon arrival by plane, and shown our accommodations. We loved our cabin next to the lodge and it was the perfect comfy cozy room to come home to after a long day on the water. The food was amazing! The guides all knowledgeable, the sights seen from a helicopter priceless including a HUGE grizzly on a ridge, 3 black wolves and bull moose grazing. It is hard to not repeat the previous reviewer but add instead. Both my husband and I are experience flyfishers and the fishing was smokin' hot! We used streamers, egg and mouse patterns, droppers, poppers and dries when needed. We lost count of fish count within the first hour or two. They are measured by pounds not by inches. Silvers, Dollies, Pinks, 'Bows, on and on......Since this is a small lodge, you became friendly with the other guests and staff pretty quick. A fun group. I appreciated the snacks and drinks in the mini fridge that was refreshed daily as well as the Alaska Ale on tap and wine after a long rewarding day out. The scenery spectacular and whole experience amazing We would go back in a heart beat and hope to soon.

Unexpectedly, we ended up being the only guests as others had backed out. We started out of Seward with a nice trip from Anchorage with Joan and Jeff as our shuttle team. They were both very personable and a pleasure to make the trip with to Seward. We were greeted with champagne and quickly got underway. Our accommodations were exactly as described in the Master suite. After two days of being wined and dined, we finally had to say, the "food is amazing, but we don't eat this much in a day. We need to slow down on the amount" LOL Certainly all you could possibly eat and nicely prepared. En En set beautiful tables for every meal and and our wine glasses were never dry. The weather was not the best for the first few days, so with everyone's agreement, we decided to roll the dice and cross the Gulf of Alaska to head towards Whittier. At that point, the weather became amazing, we did kayaking and had a 13,000 year old cocktail (Bourbon on Glacier ice). Who knew we would go to Alaska to get a tan? We spent the entire time cruising out on the deck getting sun. Captain Al and his team were wonderful hosts. I guess I could address every complaint that has been posted, but I'm not going to give it much credibility by spending any time on it. Yes, the boat is not brand new, but we had no issues on board (except the battery, but that's a little joke between Captain Al and us.). I can't speak to any of the other accommodations because we did not see or use them, but there were absolutely no complaints with ours. We are already considering the possibility of taking friends and going again some time. Thanks for everything Captain Al, En En and Christian! It was the trip of a lifetime! Alaska Coastal Wildlife and Brown Bears…read more I did this tour in August 2023. It is a photography-centric tour and it lived up to the hype. We had bears. Lots of bears. Bear cubs. Carl Donohue was our Expedition Leader and did a great job. It was great to have someone with tons of bear experience, as it was close sometimes! It was a boat-based tour so that we would have the freedom to move to where the bears are. Day one we had bears. Day two we had weather, lots of weather. We were in Alaska after all. From there on out we were in bear heaven. I shot literally thousands of images (shooting at 30 frames per second will do that) and I really struggled to delete down to the 400 or so that I'm at now. It's tough to delete amazing photos because you have some that are even more amazing and you just don't need them all. The boat (yacht?) at 98 feet was super comfortable for our small group of photographers. The crew was awesome and the food was very good, certainly more than you would expect for a boat-based trip. I can't imagine how good you have to be at planning to pull that off. Every day I took "shot of a lifetime" photos of bears.

Davis was extremely prepared when we met him for our adventure. We had binoculars, ponchos, water, and snacks waiting for us when we got in the truck! As we headed out from Anchorage, he took us to several stunning photo spots and shared fascinating facts and history about all the areas we visited, as well as places we drove past. He was friendly and attentive but also gave us space to explore on our own. Even though it both snowed and then rained during our tour, Davis had many different destinations he was able to swap in place of some of our originally planned outdoor activities. The rain stopped just in time that he was still able to cook for us, and OH MY was it delicious!!
