We crafted our two week Alaskan vacation around this experience and it was the apex of our trip. This was absolutely the best experience! We did the paddle boarding on the glacier. Our guides Miciah (sorry do not know how to spell his name) and Simon were fantastic! They picked out a great spot for us. We really enjoyed that it was a private tour so we got to do basically what we wanted. We did it all, paddling, swimming and hiking. I love how we were able to just give them our phones and cameras so we could focus on the experience. I really can't say enough how great this experience was. Definitely a once in a lifetime thing. Who doesn't want to try mushing at an Iditarod camp?! So fun. Trudy was on time and so friendly, sharing stories and her charger for the drive to the lodge. Greeted by a couple moose and checked in, fitted with boots and off the meet Conner our fab helicopter pilot. The team of dogs and our Mush captain, Seth the pirate (it was "Halloween") at the camp were fun, knowledgeable and ready to mush. Perfect! We all got to try it out for those that wanted to. Me and my friend booked this tour that had both dog sledding & glacier landing + walking. It was terrific experience. The staff at check-in were efficient & transparent in communication: they came to proactively offer alternatives & refund options when the pilots reported growing wind prior to the departure of our tour; then they also mentioned that if we were willing to make an attempt and let the pilot decide if it were safe enough to land at the dog camp (which was with significant elevation), we could also do that & receive partial refund if eventually we couldn't land at the dog camp. Throughout this communication, the staff were very patient, and when we decided to make an attempt and let the pilot decide, it turned out to be awesome cuz the pilot that we flew with (whose name's Ben) was knowledgeable, communicative, and attentative. He provided great guidance at the glacier walking (a final part of our tour) and before that, we got to land at the dog camp! :) The dog sledding was super fun! Oh the huskies and puppies!! I highly recommend this tour, and highly recommend, if you have time, do both dog sledding and glacier landing + walking. read more

One of our very favorite excursions. We booked with Viator. Flew into Anchorage and rented a car on Turo. Easy 50 min drive, lots to look at. Once at the facility we were checked in, watched a safety video, received our waterproof boots and off we went! The helicopter tour is amazing. Flying over glaciers is a once in a lifetime event. The dogsled riding was fun, they let you play with the dogs (lots of dogs) and love on them, then back to the helicopter for another 20 min ride back. Unbelievable sights. What an amazing experience! From the moment we were picked up from our hotel to the moment we were dropped off. Kevin, who drove us was very informative, prepared and helpful. He shared great stories, history and made an hour drive seem like 15 min. Once you arrive you are greeted and helped to get ready and prepared. Our pilot Stephen, was a great pilot and tour guide. He was very careful to take care of we old folks which was good as ice is slippery. We fly all over the Knik Glacier what an amazing view and experience. Thank you Stephen you made the flight and glacier come alive for us. Once we returned we got to hang out at the lodge. Which in itself was a blast. We met other thrill seeking enthusiasts, families and even an older gentleman traveling across Alaska on a Harley. As we sat and enjoyed the views, Eli one of the managers came and kept us company. From the very beginning, this excursion was fantastic. Ashley was our shuttle driver and she was very helpful letting us know about the flight and filling us in on the history of things not only in Anchorage but other cities in Alaska. The staff was friendly and our pilot Kory made the flight even better with his knowledge and how much he wanted to make sure we had a great experience. Some areas are not great for a landing but he would give us a great tour and explain what we were looking at with all of the land. We made 3 different stops and each one got better. Our final stop was on a true ice glacier and you get the chance to see some very cool landscapes and walk around and explore. I would recommend taking a water bottle and drinking some of the glacier water and I would highly recommend doing the 3 landings as opposed to the one landing trip. It's well worth the extra money and makes the whole thing so much better. Without a doubt, one of the best excursions I've ever done. read more

Booked this flight online. Got picked up by sprinter style van at the Hilton in Downtown Anchorage and brought out to the resort. The van driver was great guy, excellent personality. we had a very enjoyable ride to and from the resort. Our helicopter pilot was fantastic. Took the one hour helicopter flight to Knik Glacier. It was a wonderful experience. The landscape starts to get yellow leaves at the lower level, and full of green forest when we get higher; we would cross valleys to see mountain goats and wet land with moose; finally we would reach the endless glacier field, where you would only able to access with heli. The pilot was super skilled and she was able to getting super close to the ice field as well as passing narrow valleys. With the full window panel, the sightviewing is truly a feast. Initially we were considering two hours or four hours trips, but due to the limit time schedule we ended up with one hour. It turned out to be perfect! Tasting the flight on glacier and making one stop to explore around is just right amount of adventure for us. It would totally be worth your money for the trip! If you ever would like to do a Heli tour, do it in Alaska glaciers. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the service and the guide, especially during the tour. We drove for many hours to get there, but what we experienced was unacceptable! My husband, our friends, and I were not happy at all, from the beginning to the end. I didn't feel welcomed, and there was no warm greeting from the guide. The guide lacked initiative and wasn't talkative enough to provide us with sufficient information about the tour. They didn't offer any help concerning our safety during the glacier landing until we asked. Only then did the guide give a brief explanation. My husband had to ask for spike shoes, and only after that did the guide provide them, but not for everyone. The guide didn't check if the rest of us needed them. Throughout the tour, both guides were busy chatting with each other and showed no concern for us whenever we landed. When we asked for help to take a photo, one of the guides was arrogant, showing an unwilling attitude and saying, "I can just take one photo." Ironically, they took a group photo of us without our permission! We spent a lot of money expecting a great experience, but it was terrible! The landing spots didn't even have good views. I have no reason to recommend this tour at all--very bad service and poor guiding." read more

This was our second helicopter tour in Alaska, and compared to the first tour with a different company, this one was by far the worst experience--from beginning to end. First, they told us we needed to pay a $150 surcharge because one of our five friends weighed 268 lbs, which is over the 250 lb limit. When I booked online through Viator and confirmed over the phone, I was told the surcharge would be around $20, not $150. What upset me even more was the reason for the charge. They claimed it was because they couldn't sell another ticket due to the total weight limit of 600 lbs per helicopter. However, here's the issue: the booking rules state that you can't book the tour as a single person--you need at least two people. We were a group of five and booked two helicopters for the same time slot, so they wouldn't have been able to sell any additional tickets anyway. They also mentioned that the total weight for each helicopter couldn't exceed 600 lbs for three passengers. However, our group's weights were 101, 110, 117, 149, and 268 lbs. Even with two helicopters, none of the combinations would have exceeded the 600 lb limit. It seemed like they were just trying to take advantage of us for extra money. Charging $150 just because one of us was 16 lbs over the limit is not a fair resolution. After this experience, I checked with the previous helicopter tour company we used and another company we booked for the next day. Both have a 290 lb per person limit, and as long as the total weight for three passengers doesn't exceed 600 lbs, there's no surcharge. That's the fair rule they should be following. And this was just the beginning. After the flight, the guide hardly interacted with us or provided any explanations--it felt more like a taxi ride than a tour. The landing site, which was the most important part for us, was also a huge disappointment. It was nothing like what we had experienced on other helicopter tours, hikes, or boat tours, where the guides were engaging and informative. We were also supposed to have better helicopters, but they told us they didn't have pilots to fly them, even though we paid for the top-tier experience. One extra tip: always ask the guide how long each landing will last so you get the maximum time you've paid for. On our 2-hour tour, everything felt rushed, and they didn't even explain the itinerary properly. Please do your research before booking this tour. There are much better options in Alaska with more reasonable prices and a better overall experience. I will definitely never book with this company again, nor will I recommend them. For $3,600 plus a $150 surcharge, this was the worst experience we had in Alaska. We drive 4 hours round trip hoping for the best experience and turn out the worst experience. The only positive point of this tour was the smooth piloting of the helicopter itself.. read more
