Glacier

This was absolutely the best experience! We did the paddle boarding on the glacier. Our guides Miciah (sorry do not know how to spell his name) and Simon were fantastic! They picked out a great spot for us. We really enjoyed that it was a private tour so we got to do basically what we wanted. We did it all, paddling, swimming and hiking. I love how we were able to just give them our phones and cameras so we could focus on the experience. I really can't say enough how great this experience was. Definitely a once in a lifetime thing. All of the staff we interacted with were wonderful. We can't recommend them enough!

One of the coolest experience ever! We went on a perfect weather day! It was truly amazing. And Zach the pilot was the best ever! I have told and shown my pics to everyone.

What an amazing experience! Our pilot Brian was awesome with my elderly mother. Helping her in and out of the helicopter. He was our personal guide and was patient to hover over animals so we could take pictures. They pride themselves on safety! I really appreciate everything and the training we were provided to keep us safe. I highly recommend this company and you won't be disappointed.

Who doesn't want to try mushing at an Iditarod camp?! So fun. Trudy was on time and so friendly, sharing stories and her charger for the drive to the lodge. Greeted by a couple moose and checked in, fitted with boots and off the meet Conner our fab helicopter pilot. The team of dogs and our Mush captain, Seth the pirate (it was "Halloween") at the camp were fun, knowledgeable and ready to mush. Perfect! We all got to try it out for those that wanted to. Capped it off with the hike on Knik glacier to create a very memorable experience.

If I could leave more stars, I would. Truly an incredible experience from the hospitality at check in to take off and touch down. If you're in Alaska don't miss this opportunity! We did the helicopter tour with glacier landing and had the helicopter all to ourselves. Our pilot was awesome; making it feel like we were seeing this marvel with a friend and not a tour company. The views from the air and the glaciers are unexplainable and truly breathtaking. Don't skip this one while you're here!

Want a helicopter tour of glaciers in Alaska? This IS the place. Located outside Palmer (which has a cute but small downtown) this place has cabins and offers some very cool possibly once-in-a-lifetime experiences like heli-hiking and heli-skiing complete with overnight accommodations and a private chef! We did the mild-mannered glacier helicopter ride stopping in Knik glacier. Seeing a glacier from above is WAY different from just seeing it from a ship or on a lower level field of ice. Military and day of discounts. Awesome!

What an amazing experience! From the moment we were picked up from our hotel to the moment we were dropped off. Kevin, who drove us was very informative, prepared and helpful. He shared great stories, history and made an hour drive seem like 15 min. Once you arrive you are greeted and helped to get ready and prepared. Our pilot Stephen, was a great pilot and tour guide. He was very careful to take care of we old folks which was good as ice is slippery. We fly all over the Knik Glacier what an amazing view and experience. Thank you Stephen you made the flight and glacier come alive for us. Once we returned we got to hang out at the lodge. Which in itself was a blast. We met other thrill seeking enthusiasts, families and even an older gentleman traveling across Alaska on a Harley. As we sat and enjoyed the views, Eli one of the managers came and kept us company. We enjoyed a beer and awesome conversations. So much good conversation. We can not thank you ALL enough for such a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. You folks are amazing.

What an amazing experience! From Lauren the Helicopter pilot to all the dog sled staff. It was amazing being able to drive the dog sled. 10 out of 10 rating ! From landing on the glacier and drinking the water to all the great views. Highly recommend .

Will is an awesome pilot, and Daniel was so much fun to ride with! We had an amazing time flying over the Glacier area and then sledding with the dogs! Playing with the dogs and puppies afterwards was such an awesome extra! I love how they were ALL so friendly and wanted pets and hugs, and gave us so many kisses!

Walking on the glacier

Second time doing this adventure. Absolutely awesome time again. Dylan, our pilot, was terrific. He landed us on the glacier. Breathtaking! Will do this again

Bring a water bottle to get glacier water!

Amazing company! What a great way to experience the Alaskan scenery! The helicopter ride was so fun I wanted it to go on forever. If landing on the Knik Glacier, remember to bring a water bottle to get the glacier water! Definitely recommend the Grand Knik Tour!

I've had a lot of experiences in my 55 years, and this was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Wyatt was an excellent pilot. We saw so much beauty and learned a lot. Alaska Helicopters also accommodated our 26yr old overweight, special needs son seamlessly, give him an experience of a lifetime. Just awesome. Thanks so much!

Our agent, Karlyn, went above and beyond to make sure our trip stayed on track. Due to unexpected road closures, we missed our scheduled boat departure, but Karlyn acted quickly and was able to get us on the next boat. Her responsiveness, professionalism, and dedication turned what could have been a stressful situation into a seamless experience. We had already decided on the cruise we wanted to take, and we had booked it separately. We started to put together what we wanted to do on the land tour, and doing the planning on our own quickly became overwhelming. We looked at several websites that offered travel arrangements and we decided on Alaska Tour & Travel. Mostly because the Best of Denali & Kenai Fjords Tour 120 offered a variety of activities and things we wanted to do. It was an even bigger bonus to find out that we could make alterations to further enhance our tour. Even with those alterations, they were able to put the journey together in a seamless manner, leaving us to just enjoy Alaska without the worry of how we were going to get from one destination or excursion to the next. From start to end, Alaska Tour & Travel was there to assist us and keep us informed as the trip progressed. This was so comforting and made our trip very enjoyable. With the planning services we received, we can't say enough good things about Alaska Tour & Travel. We both highly recommend Alaska Tour and Travel and will use them when we plan our next trip to Alaska. We would also like to give a shout out to Kala Jenkins and Skye Smith for all the work they did for us. Thanks for a great Anniversary!

He showed off Anchorage in the very best way, and he's got awesome, interesting stories. Highlights: * We saw a moose in the wild, almost immediately! * The land is just stunning. We got perfect weather and, again, a fantastic guide. * Brooks totally pampered us - brought everyone cold waters, tons of snacks, and a comfy, pristine van to ride in. * Overall I'm uncomfortable with penned animals, but the conservation center has a pair of rescued brown bears and a trio of black bear rescues, and it was cool to see them and learn their stories. Wishes: * Wish people could be grouped by level of preferred activity. We had the bad luck to book at the same time as some folks from a cruise ship, and they didn't want to walk anywhere, spend time outdoors - they even made us skip lunch and come back early because of their cruise timeline. That was a big bummer.

We booked a 3 day winter excursion with Montana Hiking Gal for Fairbanks, AK this last March and it…read morewas everything we wanted in a winter wonderland Alaskan experience! As two city slickers, we generally knew what types of activities we wanted to experience in Alaska, but had no idea where to start: How to book events, where to go and where to avoid, the logistics of driving in winter in Alaska, and how to do this all safely. Heather is a one stop shop! Prior to our trip, she consulted us on what we were interested in experiencing, made sure she knew what "experience level" we had for things like hiking/ climbing, and made a full itinerary for each day we were there. This was truly a 5 star roll out in customer service. Once our evening flight touched down in Fairbanks, Heather picked up our rental car and brought us to our Air BnB, which was a dry cabin still within Fairbanks city limits. Day 1 kicked off riding with a dogsled team at Chena Hot Springs, followed by soaking in the hot spring and touring the Ice Museum with an apple martini (in a glass made of ice). We were planning on going out to dinner, but our Air BnB host left us a Copper River Salmon fillet that we cooked up instead. Yum! Day 2 we took a long, but gorgeous, drive out to Castner Glacier. Heather had any and all extra warm, hiking/climbing, and safety gear that we needed for our 3-mile hike to the glacier. Since the glacier was frozen over, forming a cave, (this doesn't happen every year), Heather was sure to make our day hike as safe and memorable as possible. After returning back into Fairbanks, we ate dinner and went Aurora hunting at night. Unfortunately, the Aurora was not going off that night, but I don't think Heather controls the magnetic field, so I can't ding her on that one haha. Day 3 we took a quick trip to the North Pole! We met 2 elves working their off-season jobs at Safeway and McDonalds, but also got to see Santa at his workshop. Before our flight we rounded off the day at the World Ice Art Championship exhibit. We didn't have time to see this at night, but the sculptures were still very impressive nonetheless. Overall, this trip was 5/5 stars and there is no one better to book and experience Alaska with than Montana Hiking Gal! Ease of booking, itinerary, customer service, value for your dollar, and overall experience was amazing and I could not recommend enough booking your next adventure to Alaska with Montana Hiking Gal!

Aside from the van being very nice and well designed, Carolyn, the owner, is so professional and kind. I lost the keys to the van on a hike about 2 hours out of town and was stuck outside during winter and when I called for help she had a preplanned solution to it that helped me get back in quickly. It was my first time driving on icy roads and I did cause some damage to the van, which was worrying because I was afraid of telling the owner directly about this, but she was incredibly professional about it, reassuring, and helpful solving it. To make matters worse, in a fit of exhaustion upon returning the vehicle, I locked the only set of keys in the van. She was unbelievably patient despite a whole comedy of errors on my behalf. Overall lovely experience with this company and highly recommend.

This was our first time in a camper van, and we were a little apprehensive, but the van is easy to drive, and is well equipped with everything you will need to make your Alaska Adventure worry free. It was a joy not to have to set up a tent each night, and to know we would be warm and dry if we encountered bad weather. The van has a heater and a refrigerator, as well as more storage space than we expected. Compared to the high cost of renting a car to get around and still having to pay for a campground or hotel room, the van cost was very reasonable. Plus, because we didn't have to pack up each time we moved to a new location, we had more time to enjoy our trip.
