All the pediatric clinics in town had age limits of 13 or younger, and many adult clinics were full. Francis graciously accepted her and has helped her so much, it's amazing! Frances is caring, compassionate, fun, and amazingly intelligent in the world of speech pathology. We are so blessed to have her helping bring my daughter back to "normal". I love that she has flexible hours and will meet us wherever we want. My daughter enjoys our coffee dates and has gone from barely passing two classes last school year to all A's and B's this year. They are conveniently located on Old Seward across from Kendall Lexus/Toyota. My son does occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy. All staff I've encountered have been kind and helpful. We've been lucky to have the same amazing PT therapist our entire time with AFK. Although we've had a few OT and Speech Therapists, AFK does a great job of transitioning the children and bringing new therapists up to speed. It seems there's not enough therapists for the amount of children needing therapy. Therefore, these therapies are hard to come by and even harder to get on a reoccurring schedule. AFK does an amazing job of working with your availability, guiding you through the entire process from paperwork to intake and keeping you updated with everything a long the way. I appreciate that most communication is done via text and email. I also appreciate AFK having a main office line you can always contact but as parents/caregivers, being able to contact our kids' therapists directly, is priceless. The clinic is larger than it seems from the outside. It is very clean. I believe AFK houses the only sensory gym Anchorage has (that I know of). All kinds of puzzles, games, ball pits, swings, etc fill this place. Since Covid, AFK has kept their lobby mostly closed to parents/caregivers. Therefore, therapists pick-up and deliver children to their vehicles. If you are invited inside you are required to wear a mask. I really appreciate how they've done everything to follow mandates without completely closing down. They have truly been a constant in our lives.

Luckily they had just one open slot and as soon as I finished my new patient forms I was seen. Usually this never happens so I'm lucky to have gotten in the same day to be evaluated. Jeff was very helpful and gentle. He asked all the right questions, because I could not explain the pain I was having on my own. I was given information and exercises to do at home to help myself recover. I'm very pleased with my first visit and am looking forward to a pain free future. I think I'll get that here.

My physical therapist Erin listened to my concerns and was able to further explain some of the issues I have been dealing with. She manipulated a few spots and recommended some exercises to help address the others. This is also one of the few offices that says to show up 15 min early, you actually need to do it. Because there is so much paperwork. I look forward to future visits.
