I love this repair shop! Highly recommend. Wish I could leave 6 stars…read more Derek = the best. Always so accommodating. Is willing to do something quick for you even if it means he gets stuck past closing hours. Work is always of a high quality. Friendly. And he's honest and is good at managing customer expectations. The mechanics that work under Derek are courteous and do great work. I've never had a bad experience with them. Great reputation across the capital district and its duly deserved. Note: dropping by in person seems to be the best way to set up an appointment. Not by phone.

Took my car to capital tech for a leaking water pump. James did this work on his own time which…read moreinvolved changing the water pump as well as the timing chains and tensioners. About 2 weeks later the car developed an oil leak from the area of the crankshaft seal and or the timing cover as well as the front valve cover gasket, all of which he had to change. I paid James 900 dollars cash and I supplied the parts needed to do the job. Now after 2 weeks of text messages and 2 or 3 phone calls to my place of employment, James said he has not forgot about me. I have now taken the vehicle to another mechanic for the repairs. This review is not about Capital Tech itself but the mechanic. I am expecting these repairs to cost another 300 to 500 dollars on top of the almost 1600 parts and labor already spent. This post from a dissatisfied customer who is retired but work a part time job Sincerely Larry Ellis

Okay, so I had a nail in my tire overnight on Saturday and Sunday morning I found out about it. I…read morewent to AutoZone to try and plug the hole and I thought it worked so I drove to Price chopper with my friend. Then the plus popped out and my tire went completely flat again. Not to mention it was raining. I walked over the the gas station on the corner of lark and Madison and talked to a very helpful clerk. She told me to have my car either towed right over or if I can drive very slowly. I drove very slowly and met a guy with blonde hair who was extremely helpful and fixed my tired in 5minutes. His charge for it was the best I ever had and I would extremely recommend his small shop to everyone who hates dealing with the hassle of big companies fucking you over. It's been a few days and my tire has not had a problem, even though I'm skidish. Lol

When I was new to driving, one of the Dunbrook brothers answered my phonecall in his towtruck…read more After solving my car problem, he generously said, "No charge." So I became a customer, if not buying gas, buying cigarettes and coffee early in the morning on the way to work. Sometimes minor repairs would be done by women working in the station. Rox took her car here all the time, for major and minor work, and loved them. Dunbrook Mobil does not have a staff, it's more like a cast. Through repeated visits, you get to know them, and the pleasant quirkiness of the business ameliorates the cost of gasoline a bit.
